Episode 052: Two-Time World Record Holder Colin O'Brady

Through exploration and adventure, Colin O’Brady embodies what it means to overcome obstacles, test limits, dream big, set goals, and never give up. His inspirational path showcases making the impossible, possible. Becoming a two-time world record holder was a long journey for Colin from 2008. On a backpacking trip to Thailand Colin suffered a tragic accident and was severely burned in a fire. His injuries covered nearly 25% of his body, primarily damaging his legs and feet. Doctors warned him he would not walk normally again. Fast forward about 18 months later, Colin competed in the 2009 Chicago Triathlon. With a surprise first place win, Colin decided he was off to the races as a professional triathlon racer. With a passion for pushing his body and exploring persevered limits, Colin took on an extraordinary mission. On May 27, 2016 with his project coined BEYOND 7/2, Colin conquered the speed records for the Explorers Grand Slam and Seven Summits; a global mountaineering challenge which includes climbing the tallest mountain on each continent and trekking the last degree of latitude to the North and South Poles. His new world record project is taking off this summer. He's attempting to climb the highest points in each of the 50 states from June through July. You can check out his schedule on his website and even join him when he is in your state! On top of all that, Colin is a Yale graduate and motivational speaker.
