Ep. 8: Ryan Ford on Parkour, Injury Prevention, Entrepreneurship, & Being Prepared for Anything
Our guest this week is Ryan Ford, an internationally-recognized expert and coach in a lesser-known and fascinating sport called “parkour.” If you have never seen a video of Parkour, it’s a sport where people in urban environments climb, jump, flip, twist, and generally maneuver through their environment like Batman or Spiderman. Besides performing world-wide for dozens of respected organizations and competitions, Ryan is also an accomplished entrepreneur, with a network of his own gyms and online businesses. His success - and superhuman feats - have lead to media attention from such media giants as the New Yorker, TIME, and ESPN. Whether or not you have a burning desire to jump off of rooftops, this interview will offer you a lot of awesome takeaways, ranging from fitness advice, tips on how to avoid injuries, ideas on how to turn your passion into an entrepreneurial career, and a better understanding of how one should approach obstacles - both physical and mental. Ep. 6: Benny Lewis on How to Learn a Language Fast
Our guest this week is one of the world’s most renowned experts on learning languages quickly and effectively. By his early-20’s, Benny Lewis had failed to learn Spanish and Irish, despite living in Spain and growing up in Ireland. As a result, he decided to reapproach language learning in a smarter way, and developed his own system. Using this methodology, he has since becoming fluent and confident in 7 languages. He runs a popular blog called Fluent in 3 months, and his book of the same title was the #1 bestseller across numerous categories and countries on Amazon. Benny has been featured in Time Magazine, Forbes, Lifehacker, the BBC, and many more, and he also gave one of my favorite TEDx talks of all time.

Ep. 4: Can Everyone Do SuperHuman Acrobatic Feats? Yuri Marmerstein Tells Us How
We interview Yuri Marmerstein, an acrobat and gymnast who has made a name for himself as one of the authorities on hand balancing. Yuri’s feats, which you can see in the video below, are absolutely superhuman, but what’s more impressive is that despite spending some time training with some of the greats, Yuri is largely self taught, and is teaching people all over the world to perform these seemingly superhuman feats by themselves. What he offers, then, is a very unique perspective on learning incredible acrobatic and physical feats from someone who was not born into it, and who hasn’t trained since the age of 4, like most of the elite gymnasts you may have seen. This interview is very technical and nerdy, and we go very deep into some of the skills and the path to learning them. But, if you’ve ever dreamed of standing on one hand, doing double backflips, or any other seemingly superhuman gymnastic skills, you’ll find the interview to be really fascinating and encouraging!

The point of all this is of course to improve strength, mobility, agility, and just about every physical performance attribute you can think of. Throughout the interview, though, we went far beyond physical performance, and started to tackle some of the big questions about modern lifestyles, happiness, and the future of human wellbeing.
