Episode 167: A Talk with Kelley Gunter, 22-year post-op about Persistence, Vitamin Deficiency and Doing the “Head Work”
Kelley Gunter is the author of one of the best books I have read from a bariatric patient. Her book is called “You Have Such a Pretty Face,” a perfect title that so many people who struggle with the disease of obesity can relate to! Kelley is 22 years out from her bariatric surgery and maintains a weight loss of over 200 pounds. She has done a tremendous amount of “head work,” which she talks about in this podcast episode, along with the significant issues she has suffered due to a lack of having taken bariatric specific vitamins… hair, teeth, vision problems and bone issues! She no longer makes that mistake and supports the emphasis we have been placing on taking bariatric-specific vitamins. Kelly is a therapist, a life coach, a speaker and is working on a sequel to “You Have Such a Pretty Face,” which is titled “Queen of Crazy Town!” If you haven’t met Kelley before, you will be awed and inspired after listening to her today!Resources:BariAfterare: www.bariaftercare.comConnie Stapleton PhD website: www.conniestapletonphd.comKelley Gunter website: https://kelleygunter.com/BariAftercare website: https://www.conniestapletonphd.com/bariaftercareBariAftercare Facebook page (for members only): https://www.facebook.com/groups/BariAftercareInstagram: @therealbariboss (Tabitha Johnson)Instagram @drsusanmitchell (Dr. Susan Mitchell)Instgram: @lauraleepreston (Laura Preston)Instagram: @chefhealthyhenry (Henry Baker)ProCare Vitamins (10% off with code ConnieStapleton) https://procarenow.com/?ref=conniestapletonPlease subscribe to the show and rate it on Apple Podcasts, download free information at www.conniestapletonphd.com, and follow me on Twitter (@cstapletonphd), Instagram (@cstapletonphd), YouTube, LinkedIn, and on Facebook.

Episode 165: Are You Making Your Health and Wellness a Priority?
IS your health and IS your overall wellness a priority in your life? Well… how can one know!? I’ll tell you! When I look at your lifestyle, the choices you make, the values you live by, the significance that your health plays in your life… I know. And so do others… by seeing how you treat yourself and how you take care of yourself… or not. And if you’re willing to be honest with yourself, you know the truth about whether or not you are prioritizing your health and wellness. In this episode, I ask some tough questions so you can assess how much of a priority health and wellness are in your life. If you’re talking the talk, but not walking the walk, then is your health NOT actually a priority OR is a lack of self-worth an obstacle? I also invite you to a FREE online Chat with Laura Preston and myself on March 5th, 2024 at 7:30 PM EST. Listen and get the details or go to my website, www.conniestapletonphd.com and sign up now!
