How Losing Everything, Led Tracy to Undeniable Success |Tracy O'Malley |David T.S. Wood

Losing everything can feel like the end of the world. You can fall into unhealthy habits, create negative self-thoughts, and create a cycle of bad behavior that can feel impossible to escape. In this episode of My Extra Mile, David T. S. Wood and his guest, Tracy O'Malley, share their paths through trauma and the struggles they've endured along the way.   They both get real about their paths, what they've learned, and the lessons that have prepared them for their current success. Their inspirational stories explore the power in helping other people grow and how to learn from your past. If you're interested in moving past your pain and becoming your best self, this episode is a must-hear!   You will want to hear this episode if you are interested in...   Letting go of what doesn't serve you and moving forward Sharing your story with supportive people Taking a step back to learn from your history Becoming your most authentic self Healing your wounds Using pain and rejection to become stronger Sharing your story and being proud of where you are Losing everything and finding yourself   When everything falls apart, it can feel impossible to move forward and rebuild your life. But when you shift your mindset you will start seeing things from a different perspective, allowing you to heal. Start by letting go of the people and things that no longer serve you, being compassionate with yourself where you are, and sharing your story with supportive people.   But, be prepared for those who may not support your journey. Not everyone is in the mindset of growth and many people are comfortable exactly where they are. As you grow and expand your light it could intimidate people or make them feel bad. Be careful who you share your path with to avoid any backslides.   Your experience and unique perspective make you special, so take a step back and see how each part of your journey affects your story and identify what time in your life may be holding you back. The moment you become aware of this blockage, you'll be headed in the right direction to heal your pain and grow from the things that once held you back.   Where to start and how to grow   Not sure where to start? Try ripping off the metaphorical Band-Aids you've put on your past and do the work to move forward. If you want to grow you have to repair, so you don't repeat the bad habits you want to move past. Your muscle memory can be challenging to overcome but staying accountable for yourself will help you achieve the life of your dreams!   When you start becoming your authentic self, telling your truth, and living the life you want, you may experience pushback. But when you keep pressing forward, you may find that your journey, strength, and hope will inspire others. It's important to remember that no matter how far down the path you've gone or how disqualified you feel for the life you want, you are worthy of everything in your dreams! Your pain can be your gain   Everyone carries wounds, but if you keep experiencing the same pain, you need to face it head-on to heal from it and move forward. Your truth can set you free, so connect with people you trust, let go of people who are holding you back, and focus on the things that bring you joy.   Rejection can be painful especially when it comes to your family and friends. Love, service, and heart are the keys to unlocking your potential, but your Self-love is the most significant piece. Show up, honor who you are, be compassionate towards others, and honor the journey you've been on so far. Don't be afraid to crack open a little bit so people can see the real you. Be prepared to let the world see you as you are and be proud of your journey!   Connect with Tracy O'Malley Tracy's Website: http://tracyomalley.com/ Follow Tracy on Facebook: @Tracy.OMalley Follow Tracy on Instagram: @Tracy_OMalley Follow Tracy on Twitter: @TracyOMall Connect with David T. Best Friends Share How They Succeed Together | Kylie Donaldson & Emma Van Der Waal | David T.S. Wood

When it comes to working with your best friend, learning how to succeed together will help you become even closer. In this episode of My Extra Mile, David T. S. Wood talks with best friends Kylie Donaldson and Emma Van Der Waal about their journey and their key to success is doing it together.   Utilizing your unique skillset will set you apart, and when you add your best friend to the equation, you will go even further. Kylie's gifts are her laser-focus, independence, and her ability to match energy for energy flawlessly. Emma's gifts are her ability to bring people together, creating a sense of community, and the support and love she exudes to all she meets. If you want to hear how you can succeed in business with your best friend too, this episode is a must-hear!   You will want to hear this episode if you are interested in...   Figuring out your unique strengths Building and layering your skills to advance your career Paving your path to success Transitioning into a mentality for success Navigating challenges so they don't slow you down Emma and Kylie's tips for success Developing yourself and your friendships Valuable words of advice   Letting your strengths shine   Kylie and Emma have a lot in common and share a bond through past struggles, but their unique gifts allow them both to shine in their friendship. Their different styles of leadership enable them to create powerful connections with the people on their teams and enables them to help each other along the way.   As with most successful network marketers, their journey to success stands firmly on a path unique to them. They worked hard to build and layer their skills to advance in their careers, and they've learned how to leverage their strengths when necessary. It can be hard to transition out of the "Me" mentality and shift your focus to helping others, but Kylie, Emma, and David, all vouch for the value of community. When you empower others to do their best, it will be easier to step out of your comfort zone and continue pushing others to do their best.   Navigating challenges to succeed together   In business and life, you have to figure out how to navigate hurdles, so they don't slow you down. But, when you have a friend to help you along the way, it's easier to find a path that works well for your other partnerships. Identify your unique personality and work with those you trust to make your teams stronger.   Emma suggests that when you feel stuck, be consistent in your work and dive in fully. To succeed, you need to plug-in and learn everything you can and then share your passion and drive with those around you. Being consistent, not allowing yourself to be distracted, and not taking things personally will help you be the best version of yourself.   Kylie adds that the biggest challenge in starting your side hustle can be your limiting beliefs. If you put your mind to something, believe that you can do it and find a way to make it happen. Showing up as your most authentic self can be challenging and may take a toll on you when other people aren't authentic, but it will be worth the effort.   Personal development and friendships   Your greatest asset is yourself and your abilities, but your second-best asset is your relationships! Growing your business and your team is your legacy. Success isn't based on where you come from, your background, or your wealth. If you want to succeed and you're willing to put in the work, you CAN reach your goals!   Take accountability for yourself and where you're at but be aware of your current situation and what you need to do to get to where you want to be. Don't let your tough spots hold you back. Instead, develop a mindset that will push you through to your next level.   Kylie and Emma's parting words of advice are: Stay in your lane and don't compare yourself to other people's journeys Work from your heart AND your mind Be open to the hard lessons Get a mentor who will support you, believe in you, and pull you out of a pity-party Identify the aspects of your business that you believe in and focus on what makes it unique to you Ask your friends to keep you accountable Take ownership of your life and dive in fully Show up for yourself, your team, your family, and your kids   Figure out what you want and how to get there. However, it's in that space of not knowing that you're able to make the most significant changes in your life! When you've truly accepted the value of hard work and put forth the effort to reach your goals, you CAN achieve them.   Self-discipline is challenging, and showing up to do things, whether or not you feel like it, can seem impossible. But when you take ownership of your future and start small, you can begin implementing consistent habits that work towards your goal. Every time you start something new, take the time to celebrate your first step. As your identity changes and you accept who you're becoming, you will be well on your way to reaching your vision of success!   The power of mindset and mentorship   Whenever you start something new, a positive mindset can be hard to maintain when things get tough. But when you work at keeping yourself in tune with your goal, your focus will shift to the success of your dreams instead of the challenges you face. What things are holding you back and how can you learn from them to propel yourself forward? It's important to remember that It's not just about the success, it's about the journey that gets you there and the lessons you learn along the way.   What does success look like to you? Do you want more financial independence with each paycheck? Do you wish you could give and contribute to the things that matter most to you?   Learning how to manage your money effectively can help you create financial freedom. Without proper money maintenance, you could work yourself right back into the same financial hole you've been trying to escape. Put in the work, gain the necessary knowledge, and make sure that you never lose sight of your end goal. Action and consistency can lead to your success and your success is definitely worth the investment of your time! Relationship Advice & A Proven Formula for Success, with Beth Hanishewski,

Have you ever received relationship advice that is so simple and easy to implement that it seems too good to be true? Energy + Value + Currency = Happiness! In this episode, David T. S. Wood and his guest, relationship guru Beth Hanishewski, discuss this proven formula that can help you find happiness and hope in your relationships. If you want to learn more about this formula, this episode is a must-hear!   You will want to hear this episode if you are interested in...   A relationship formula that works Identifying your partner's energy Figuring out what they value most What your partner's love "currency" is Beneficial questions to ask your partner Relationship advice and homework to help you get started How to recognize your energy   Think of energy in 4 quadrants: feminine light, feminine dark, masculine light, and masculine dark. These names aren't speaking to gender classifications but rather the characteristics that accompany different types of energy.   For example:   Feminine light: emotional, spontaneous, inspired, collaborative, and nurturing Feminine dark: spiteful, whiny, manipulative, hysterical, and submissive Masculine light: logical, competitive, focused, loyal, and present Masculine dark: closed, grumpy, controlling, and violent   Now, think about how your energy changes when you're around this person. When you think about that person, do you feel yourself anticipating their energetic effects on you? What energy makes you feel your best? Try to pinpoint that feeling to focus on when you're around that person. When you change your energy, you may see a shift in theirs as well! The secret to nurturing their values   Have you taken the time to consider what your person values most in life? Their values are the unconscious, intangible things they hold highest in their life. If you aren't aware of their values, you could be unintentionally robbing them of the most crucial elements in their life.   The feminine tends to value safety the most, which includes physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, sexual, and even financial matters. When you do or say something that makes them feel unsafe, you will be able to see their energy change. If you're not sure if you're affecting them, ask! Once you know, talk with them to see what you can do to help them feel safer.   The masculine values freedom, including their time and energy. Do you ever tell your partner to do something with the expectation they do it right away? Consider giving them the time to decide when and how they'll do it instead.   Identifying their "currency"   In the relationship formula, currency is how you show your person you care. Some examples of the different types of currency are:   Feminine: safety, connection, and protection Masculine: freedom, appreciation, and trust   When both sides of the relationship are paying out the right type of currency, you will achieve that perfect connection. You can then work towards creating synergy to see who they truly are, instead of criticizing them for their flaws. Be sincere in how you work towards your happiness, and the results will speak for themselves!   Relationship advice to help you move forward   When used correctly, the relationship formula results in happiness and hope for yourself and your relationship. But, if you take away any of the pieces, you could see the energy shift back into the dark/negative zone.   If you aren't sure where to start, ask your partner these simple, but effective questions:   "How can I love you better?" "What do I do that pushes you away?" "What do I do that pulls you closer?"   Take responsibility for your actions and forgive yourself and your person for not knowing better. When you're in your light, everything around you is affected. But, when you move into the dark, everything around you becomes INFECTED.   HOMEWORK: Apply the formula to your relationship, note what happens, and see how it changes things for you. Focus on keeping your energy positive, shower your partner with the currency that means the most to them, focus on the values they crave, and don't set any expectations. Expectations are the thief of joy.   Going first isn't easy, but the most important influence in a relationship is YOU! Mastering Time Management and the Art of Focus | Susan Sly |David T.S. Wood

If you're feeling unfocused or overwhelmed with your schedule it can be hard to focus on time management strategies. In this enlightening episode of My Extra Mile, David T. S. Wood interviews serial-investor, multi-millionaire, and wonder-mom, Susan Sly. If you're interested in learning how to master your schedule, effectively structure your week, and find time for what matters most to you, this episode is a must-hear!   You will want to hear this episode if you are interested in...   Learning how to master time management Identifying your primary need and focusing on it Actively structuring your day and week A challenge to help you identify your goals Taking time for yourself so you can be your best self A day in the life of a successful businesswoman Pushing yourself forward to become who you want to be Learning how to set boundaries Deciding to move forward towards your goals   How time management strategies can change your life   You have the same amount of time in your day as the people you admire. All the obstacles you face may seem overwhelming, but there is always a way out.   First, identify what your primary needs are in life, and focus on achieving that one goal. Whether it's money, health, or family time, take the steps you need to accomplish crucial things in your situation. Then, actively structure your day and week to work for YOU by making a schedule that helps you meet your goals.   If you feel scattered, determine how much value your time is worth and then figure out where your time is currently going. For example, write down everything you do for a month to see where your time is going and where you can restructure your days to make the most of your time.   Using a schedule to get more of what you want   Susan suggests always making your schedule the night before so you can know what to expect each day. Being strict with your schedule will help you reach your goals so you can actively make time for yourself, your family, and your business goals. She suggests taking 45 minutes daily to your income-producing activities and staying focused on what you're going TO, not what you're going to THROUGH at any given time.   A common mistake people make is resisting change and being too comfortable being uncomfortable. But, if you want to reach your goals, you have to become someone you've never been. Going backward in life should scare you enough to push you forward. Figure out what you need to say "no" to every day so that you can say "yes" to the things that matter.   Setting boundaries and taking care of yourself first   What boundaries do you need to set to keep yourself focused on the things that matter most? For example: Not working on Sundays Powering down electronic devices at a set time Getting enough sleep Canceling things when necessary   What have you done in the last 24-hours that moved you towards your goals and dreams? If you're feeling unmotivated, start with: Getting a book or study materials to keep you focused Writing out 100 goals Doing something every day to work towards your goals   Taking care of yourself first will allow you to be there for everyone and everything else. Make sure your actions align with what you want most. Ten years from now, what will your legacy be? What will you wish you spent more time doing? You have to CHOOSE to move forward towards your goals to create the type of future you want. The Power Couple Shares How They Succeed "Together", with Kyle & Megan Nekrash

When you hear the term "working couples," what comes to mind? Is it two people who work in different careers? Do you think of a couple who own a business together? Maybe you think of two people working side-by-side in an office with a common goal? In this episode of My Extra Mile, David T. S. Wood's guests, married couple Kyle and Megan Nekrash, have worked together for many years and are familiar with the struggles you may be facing. In this episode, they share their insights into working with your spouse, sharing your vision with a partner who doesn't get it, and overcoming obstacles together!   You will want to hear this episode if you are interested in...   Figuring out how to get your spouse to see your vision A realistic timeline to success and the work it takes to get there The truth about residual income Tips to help you work together successfully Making time for yourself and your partner A working couple's tips for success   How to help your partner see your vision   Do you feel like your partner just isn't getting it? You see a vision of what this business can do for your lives, but your spouse doesn't see the big picture. Kyle went through the same thing when he was just getting started. After years of saying "no," he went to an event where everything finally clicked. But not for his wife, Megan!   To help her see the big picture, he did the work to show her the impact it could have on their lives. He's a big believer in "show, don't tell," and did his best to show Megan how drastically different their lives could be with network marketing. By proving to her that it was worth his time, she eventually had her "Aha" moment, where everything finally clicked. Megan's tips for other non-believing spouses are to have patience with your partner, do your best to understand everything, and gain some knowledge so you can see how your dreams change too.   A realistic success timeline and the truth about residual income   It took Kyle and Megan 5 years to go from non-believers to cumulative million-dollar earners in network marketing. But, it's important to remember that every success story is a little different because every couple and individual has different skills they are bringing to the table. Through hard work and sacrifice, they were able to build a life they love with enough time to do things they enjoy.   With residual income, you're ALWAYS going to have to work to maintain your income. There is a myth in network marketing: once you get the customers and build the team, you can sit back and earn without doing any more work. But in reality, your income will always fluctuate. Just like your life changes frequently, your clients and team members will go through changes too. If you don't put in the work to support and listen to them when they struggle, you may lose their business for good.   A working couple's tips for success   All relationships are challenging at times, but when you add a business to the equation, things can get complicated. Kyle and Megan have been there and want to share their tips to help you work together successfully:   Find the best way to communicate with your partner and try to stick to that method Schedule time together to talk about your lives Don't give up on each other If you disagree and feel the argument escalating, take some time to cool down before continuing Regularly review your short, mid, and long term goals together to stay aligned Acknowledge each other's efforts and be appreciative Try not to compare yourselves to each other or set expectations Tell your kids what you're doing so they get where your time is going and why Create a vision board to remind yourself and your family why you're doing this Create daily practices or rituals for yourself and as a couple Go on dates   The journey will be long and success won't happen overnight. Developing your business will take time but when you hold on to each other and respect each other's roles in the partnership it will be easier to focus on your goals.
