Ep095 - Timeout with Tom and the Stress Temperature Check

Welcome back to Timeout With Tom. This episode features Samuel Eddy, founder, principal consultant and educator at Openchange. Samuel Eddy has helped small, medium and large organisations across Australia boost employee mental health and wellbeing and reduce stress in one-off guest speaking wellness events, ongoing group training and one-on-one coaching sessions. Samuel discusses the stress temperature check tool, which can be used every day to become more aware of stress levels and create well-being anchors. The stress temperature check measures how much nervous tension is in the body or system at any one time. He suggests that understanding physical symptoms of stress, behavioural changes, and other indicators can help individuals determine their stress temperature. Ideally, people should aim to spend as much time in the green zone, where their mind is calm and focused on the present. However, it is also important to recognise and manage stress levels in the yellow zone, where people are more decisive and productive, to prevent slipping into the orange or red zone, where burnout can occur. Samuel also shares his personal experience of ignoring warning signs and mistaking high stress levels for normal. ~ Resources Take your Stress Temperature Test Here Episode 04 - How to take a stress temperature check? Ep087 | Courageous Women Leaders Mini-Series, Topic 1 | Tapping into self-awareness and strengths for success

We are excited to present our newest 4-part mini-series, Courageous Women Leaders, featuring high-performance consultant Poppy Griffiths.  Tune in as we engage in insightful conversations around these four key subjects: Tapping into self-awareness and strengths for success The power of vulnerability to show up as our best selves  Using empathy for A+ leadership  Building Resilience to bounce back from setback In today's episode, we discuss the concept of courageous leadership with Poppy, who believes that everyone has the potential to be a leader regardless of their gender, job role, or career path. We explore how anyone can develop the courage to find their potential and positively impact their own lives and the lives of others. Some key points from today's conversation:  We are all leaders with unique talents that we can use to make positive contributions in our families, communities, and organisations. Courageous leadership is about taking responsibility for finding potential in ourselves and others, and having the courage to develop it in any situation, even when we can't control or predict the outcome.
