TCW Minute: Make America Great Again … Or Was It Never Great?(Week of Aug. 20, 2018)
Send us a textMake America Great Again … Or Was It Never Great? This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.New York Governor Andrew Cuomo recently said: “We're not going to make America great again. It was never that great.”Those who share Gov. Cuomo’s Leftist worldview point to America’s history of slavery and sexism to show that America has never been great.America, as all nations, is marred by sin. But relative to other nations, we have been great, saving the world from tyranny, inspiring freedom, and spreading the gospel.Greatness isn’t perpetual though. To be great in God’s eyes, America must follow the Psalmist who said: Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Hear more at TheChristianWorldview.org.This weekend, we’ll discuss the marks of apostasy.

Make America Great Again … Or Was It Never Great?
Send us a textNew York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) said at a bill signing event this past week, “We’re not going to make America great again. It was never that great.”Of course the impetus for this comment is in response to Pres. Donald Trump’s campaign slogan and repeated call to “Make America Great Again.”Governor Cuomo’s remark is representative of many with Left-leaning views that America has never been a great country. Why hasn’t it been?...

TCW Minute: Lessons from the Implosion at Willow Creek Church (Week of Aug. 13, 2018)
Send us a textLessons from the implosion at Willow Creek Church. This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.Willow Creek in Chicago is one of the largest and most influential evangelical churches. Founder and former senior pastor Bill Hybels innovated the “seeker sensitive” model of gearing church to non-believers or seekers. An implosion took place this past week at Willow Creek with the entire board of elders and both lead pastors resigning amidst allegations of extra-marital sin by Hybels. While there is plenty to discern about the unbiblical seeker model and its huge impact on churches, the first lesson is to pray for all involved and “take heed that we do not fall”.Hear two other lessons at TheChristianWorldview.org.And then tune in this weekend for another topic that will sharpen your worldview.

TCW Minute: Political Correctness (Week of Aug. 6, 2018)
Send us a textWhy is political correctness so insidious? Political correctness, which is rooted in marxism, could more accurately be termed truth suppression because it seeks to silence opposing viewpoints. For example, feel a bit shy now about saying something publicly about the unbiblical nature of same-sex marriage? Think you should keep your opinion to yourself with regard to associating Islam with terrorism? Well, you are feeling the truth-suppressing force of political correctness. Instead of quieting down, Christians, within our own spheres of influence, need to turn it up with the truth of God’s Word, spoken with grace, and motivated by love for lost souls. That’s what Jesus did and so should we.Hear an interview about the history and goals of political correctness at TheChristianWorldview.org.This weekend, we’ll speak with a filmmaker about the impact of Hollywood on Christians.

The Importance of Keeping a Good Conscience
Send us a textThe dictionary defines the conscience as: “the inner sense of what is right or wrong in one’s conduct or motives.”God gives each person a conscience, an inner guide to right and wrong. It acts as a warning system to avoid what is sinful and an encouragement to do what is good.In fact, the conscience is one of the ways we know God exists, as everyone everywhere knows sins like murder, rape, and stealing are wrong. Who informed us of these objective truths? The answer is God, who wrote these things on our hearts (Romans 2:14-16 [Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)] )...

TCW Minute: A Good Conscience (Week of July 30, 2018)
Send us a textDo you have a good conscience? This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview. The apostle Paul said to Timothy, “the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” (1 Timothy 1:5)The conscience is an inner alert system to keep you from sin and impel you to righteousness. But the conscience is not infallible. We should not claim an inner voice is necessarily from God. All promptings must be examined against God’s word. If you’re not sure, obey your conscience now and then seek a more biblical understanding of the issue. Violating your conscience is sin, as is doing something that offends a weaker believer’s conscience.Hear more at TheChristianWorldview.org.And then tune in this weekend for another topic that will sharpen your worldview.

How Woke Cultural Marxism Progresses to the Goal of Overthrowing Christian America
Send us a textNow we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. 1 Corinthians 2:12Last weekend, we discussed the “Woke Movement” that is emerging within the Evangelical church from those who consider themselves “woke”—awake, enlightened, activists—to issues of race, gender, and sexuality that they believe the church is failing to address. In their view, the Evangelical church is white-centric and racist against blacks, sexist against women, and unwelcoming toward homosexuals … and this needs to change. So what is influencing these Evangelicals to take up “social justice” issues from a perspective that shares much in common with the secular Cultural Marxism worldview that sees “white privilege” and the “heterosexual patriarchy” as oppressing the oppressed? What is the ultimate goal of Cultural Marxism? To answer these questions, we will play some sound bites from a recent Unshackled radio broadcast.Join us this weekend on The Christian Worldview as we define the terms of the Woke Movement and find out what they are really trying to accomplish.

What Happened to the Boy Scouts and Why It Matters?
Send us a textUrge the young men to be sensible; in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach. Titus 2:6-8Guest: Mark Hancock, CEO of Trail Life USAFounded in 1910, the Boy Scouts of America is one of the largest youth organizations in the US. Its mission is “to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law”.The Scout Oath is:On my honor I will do my best To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. The Scout Law is: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. As part of its Oath and Law and aim to train boys in “moral character development, citizenship training, and development of physical, mental, and emotional fitness”, the Boy Scouts did not allow atheists, homosexuals, and transgenders to be adult leaders or scouts. But in the last 10 years, the Boy Scouts, under pressure from the immoral revolution and corporate America, have capitulated on their long-held positions, now allowing open homosexuals and transgenders into the organization. Just recently, the organization decided to allow girls in the Boy Scouts, even dropping “Boy” from its name. This weekend on The Christian Worldview, Mark Hancock, CEO of Trail Life USA, “a Christ-centered outdoor adventure, leadership, and character development ministry,” will join us to discuss what has happened to the Boy Scouts, why it matters, and how Trail Life USA is providing a faith-based alternative.
