A church of “cultural engagement,” emphasizing niceness at the expense of doctrine, inculcates the innocence of doves without the wisdom of serpents. Supporting controversial witness is a necessity in an orthodox Christian church. The gospel is a sword; so is the law. While my cancellation was afoot, I received many handwritten notes of encouragement from my fellow parishioners. Other parishioners were solicitous for my family and my mental state when I encountered them at worship. Just as my fellow board members at Ambrose stood firm in our mission, so did my church. I am grateful.Though churches should not teach their parishioners to run full-steam into machine-gun nests, the beauty of the martyrs is a story as old as Christendom. St. Ambrose’s courage to refuse Communion to Theodosius over the Massacre of Thessalonica was possible only because he feared God more than he feared man. As did St. Stephen in the face of stoning; as did Justin Martyr, beheaded for witnessing to Christ among the Romans; as did so many others. Such examples of faithfulness are crucial. Cancellation is not martyrdom, of course, but it is in the odor of it. And churches that recognize its nobility are much more likely to be rallying points for all that is central to Christian faith.”How Texas A&M Went Woke - https://americanmind.org/salvo/how-texas-am-went-woke/Claremont Investigation - https://dc.claremont.org/investigative-reports/Support the showSign up for the Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisFollow Full Proof Theology on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fullprooftheology/Follow Full Proof Theology on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/fullprooftheology/

99 - Nancy Pearcey on The Toxic War on Masculinity

Nancy Pearcey is a professor of apologetics at Houston Christian University and a well established author on Christian worldview matters. In her latest book, the Toxic War on Masculinity, Nancy asks how it became socially acceptable to express open hostility against men. Books are sold with titles like I Hate Men and Are Men Necessary? Religion is often targeted as a prime cause of toxic behavior in men. Yet, surprisingly, the findings of social science debunk that negative stereotype. Research shows that authentically committed Christian men test out as the most loving and engaged husbands and fathers. They have the lowest rates of divorce and domestic abuse of any group in America. In this interview, we dive into her latest book exploring the topics of masculinity, feminism, headship, and competing scripts for men today. Support the show!! - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavishttps://www.nancypearcey.com/Toxic War on Masculinity - https://amzn.to/3Dz4E11Total Truth - https://amzn.to/3OAeUwrLove Thy Body - https://amzn.to/3KjNqISSupport the showSign up for the Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisFollow Full Proof Theology on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fullprooftheology/Follow Full Proof Theology on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/fullprooftheology/

The Dorean Principle, which is based on biblical concepts related to generosity and giving, takes aim at the commercialization of Christianity in the church today. We discuss the disruptive nature of such a principle as it pertains to conferences, seminaries, weddings, and para-church ministries. Owens even goes so far as to criticize the host’s Patreon tiers based on the Dorean Principle! He is the husband of one wife and the father of eight children. He enjoys cooperative games, couch surfing, casual skateboarding, and other peculiar activities. He has been a member of SVRBC since 2010, and a pastor since 2019.Conley was saved at an early age when he learned that blaming others for his sins didn’t actually fix anything. Instead, he trusted in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ and found true forgiveness. He discovered Reformed theology in college after accidentally getting involved with a cult and realizing he needed a better grasp on what the Bible teaches to keep such things from happening again.”Support the showSign up for the Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisFollow Full Proof Theology on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fullprooftheology/Follow Full Proof Theology on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/fullprooftheology/
