92 - About That Acts 29 Call

In this episode, I answer some questions that have been raised and provide clarifications regarding Episode 91 “The Truth Behind Why Acts 29 Removed Our Church.” There have now even been certain lies told about our release of the phone call which I tackle. I give an overview of how Acts 29 is structured. I dive into some of the leaders in place today and make some general observations about problems in the network. https://americanreformer.org/2023/05/acts-29-and-the-big-sort/Support the showSign up for the Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisFollow Full Proof Theology on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fullprooftheology/Follow Full Proof Theology on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/fullprooftheology/

91 - The Truth Behind Why Acts 29 Removed Our Church

On January 17, 2023, Acts 29 removed our church from the network without warning. We had been members in good standing in Acts 29 for 12 years. There was no indication that this action would be taken against our church. It was a unilateral decision made by the board of the network. The removal was announced to us over a call and no written documentation was provided. There is no process of appeal. In this episode, Matt Patrick and I share not just our experience in being removed from the network but also the audio of the phone call where they kicked our church out. We felt burdened to release this audio as lies have been told to prospective Acts 29 churches regarding our removal. Given the state of the network, we feel it is our responsibility to provide transparency to our brothers currently pastoring Acts 29 affiliated churches about the precarious position in which their fellowship rests.Support the showSign up for the Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisFollow Full Proof Theology on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fullprooftheology/Follow Full Proof Theology on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/fullprooftheology/

87 - Clifford Humphrey on Counterfeit Leadership and Compelling Excellence

In this conversation with Clifford Humphrey, we discuss leadership. Clifford proposes that much of what passes for leadership today is better considered management. Everything from generalship, wealth management, to rhetoric, is considered leadership today. What might it look like to have a deeper understanding of leadership? How can we develop leaders with moral vision rather than just managers and rhetoricians?Support the show!! - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavishttps://twitter.com/cphumphreyFrom Temperance to Character - https://amzn.to/3ogEHz2Support the showSign up for the Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisFollow Full Proof Theology on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fullprooftheology/Follow Full Proof Theology on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/fullprooftheology/

85 - Os Guinness on Signals of Transcendence and Christians in Revolutionary Times

In this episode, Os Guinness shares about his latest book Signals of Transcendence which is written to provide ten examples of famous atheists who came to know God through a unique moment in their life. Each story gives a brief summary of figures like Chesterton and Lewis highlighting their specific experience that led them to begin to take God more seriously. We also explore what it looks like for Christians to engage culture and politics during revolutionary times. Many Christians today just want to keep their heads down and remain faithful as Western civilization declines. Os counters this idea and suggests a better way for Christians to witness in the American republic. Support the show!! - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisSignals of Transcendence - https://amzn.to/40N6C7KOs Guinness - https://www.osguinness.com/Support the showSign up for the Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisFollow Full Proof Theology on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fullprooftheology/Follow Full Proof Theology on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/fullprooftheology/

83 - Colin Redemer on Thomas Traherne’s “Christian Ethics”

In this episode, Colin Redemer and I discuss the life and work of pastor, poet, and theologian Thomas Traherne (1637-1675). To start, we talk about why Colin feels that Traherne’s work is so necessary today and challenges faced in bringing “Christian Ethics” to publication today. We explore the topics of virtue ethics, love, Aristotelianism. Bio - Colin Redemer is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Saint Mary’s College of California and the Vice President of the Davenant Institute. He loves teaching on the intersection between History, Philosophy, Literature, and Christianity.Excerpt: “THE GOAL of this work is not to entertain you, but to elevate your soul, to refine your soul’s understanding, inform its judgment, and polish it for conversation. To purify and enflame the heart, to enrich the mind, and to guide men (that stand in need of help) in the way of virtue. And it will do this not by fasting with a long face but by exciting men’s desire, encouraging them to travel, comforting them in the journey, and so at last to lead them to true happiness, both here and after death.”Support the show!! - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisChristian Ethics - https://amzn.to/3yszjebAristotle - https://amzn.to/3ZQERecDavenant Institute - https://davenantinstitute.org/Support the showSign up for the Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisFollow Full Proof Theology on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fullprooftheology/Follow Full Proof Theology on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/fullprooftheology/
