Ben is currently a PhD student in politics at The Van Andel Graduate School of Statesmanship at Hillsdale College. In this episode, we discuss three main topics. First, we discuss his background and his understanding of evangelicalism and politics. Second, we discuss the American founding and its Christian origins. We also discuss our current political climate and bureaucratic tyranny. Third, we discuss current evangelical responses to politics and why they are insufficient. Ben R. Crenshaw was born in Dallas, but grew up in Georgia and Maine. He graduated summa cum laude from Taylor University, and then completed theological studies at Denver Seminary. He is an avid New England sports fan, but also enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, and other outdoor activities. Graham is a PhD student at Union Theological College in Belfast. Before entering PhD studies, he was Associate Minister at East London Tabernacle Baptist Church, having studied at Oak Hill Theological College in London. Before that he worked for six years with UCCF.Graham and I discuss three of his articles in this interview. First, we cover an article he wrote in the Fall of 2020 which articulated his understanding of how the state had over-reached and over-realized its ability to control a disease based on faulty assumptions regarding humanity and God.
