COVID-19 - Plague of Corruption

SHR # 2513 :: COVID-19: Plague of Corruption - Dr. Judy Mikovitz, PhD - Most of us feel something is wrong with how our Government is handling this COVID-19 pandemic. We were told we must flatten the curve to avoid overrunning our hospital capacities and that mutated to a complete nationwide shutdown. We were told wearing masks would not help yet heavy-handed Governors are mandating by law that people were masks out in public. The WHO warned countries not to follow Swedens approach to this pandemic as they were making a huge mistake with the lack of draconian shut-down. That it would cost them tens of thousands of lives. Now just yesterday the WHO praised Sweden for their model and effective response to this pandemic. Many will think this is just a level of ineptitude combined with learning-as-we-go. My guest today suspects corruption. And she has a good reason to know.

Breath - The New Science of a Lost Art PLUS Is Carls Theory Right?

SHR # 2512 :: Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art PLUS Is Carls Theory Right? - James Nestor - Mark David John Evans - It is estimated that we do this mindlessly 17,000 to 30,000 times a day. And that is just when we are at rest! Breathing. One of the functions of the autonomic nervous system, happens without much or our attention. Is it time we start paying more attention to our breathe? Stresses of modernity have a direct effect on our breathing. Disease states effect our breathing. Emotions effect out breathing. Some evidence even shows our breathing may effect certain diseases. Come along with me as we learn why and how to improve our relationship with our breathe and how that will elevate and change our lives for the better. Sometimes it is the simplest things that have the biggest impacts. PLUS Carls suggestion that he sees a way to control future pandemics by focusing on cities that have both busy international travel hubs plus a population dependence on mass transit is put to the test by a skilled statistician. If Carl right? PLUS The winner of the 429 dollars BFR system is named. Was it you?

Glute Lab: The Art and Science of Strength and Physique Training

SHR # 2511 :: Glute Lab: The Art and Science of Strength and Physique Training - Dr. Bret Contreas, PhD CSCS - There has been a fascination with butts in the past couple decades. I say it all started with J Lo who made big round proud asses popular around 1991. She was born with that anti-gravity-ass, but most women don't have those genetics. It wasn't till my guest arrived on the scene that women with pancake butts could rejoice. Hard work and focused exercises delivered an award-winning anti-gravity-ass to any women who wanted it, and was willing to put in the effort. But its not just about women or aesthetics. His techniques helped many of us build stronger squats and deadlifts! And from an anti-aging perspective, your glutes go first. And that leads to all sorts of changes in gait and stride that cause hips, knees and ankles to get wonky. One might contend that the butt is the most important muscle group of all of them! Listen and learn how you can regain strength, size, and while you're at it, and anti-gravity-ass of your own.

COVID-19: Exercise May Protect Against Deadly Complication

SHR # 2509 :: COVID-19: Exercise May Protect Against Deadly Complication - Dr. Zhen Yan, PhD MD - Regular exercise may reduce the risk of acute respiratory distress syndrome, a major cause of death in patients with the COVID-19 virus. New research "strongly supports" the possibility that exercise can prevent or at least reduce the severity of ARDS, which affects between 3% and 17% of all patients with COVID-19. Based on available information, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates 20% to 42% of patients hospitalized for COVID-19 will develop ARDS. Based upon prior to the pandemic suggested that approximately 45 percent of patients who develop severe ARDS will die. As a result of this new research a potential treatment plan is suggested.

RLRx: The Oversimplification Of Male and Female Hormones

SHR # 2508 :: RLRx: The Oversimplification Of Male and Female Hormones - Ronnie Milo - Many doctors say testosterone is the male hormone or estrogen is the female hormone, but they are completely wrong. This lack of informed opinion puts their patients at great risk. If your physician speaks in these terms it shows a level of ignorance of both science and critical thinking. You've been warned.

Nicotinamide May Treat Fibrotic Eye Diseases and Mitigate Vision Loss

SHR # 2505 :: Nicotinamide May Treat Fibrotic Eye Diseases and Mitigate Vision Loss - Dr. Tim Blenkinsop, PhD - Most diseases that cause catastrophic loss of vision do so as a result of abnormal angiogenesis and wound healing. This may be a result of injury, aging or diabetes. New research indicates that the use of a common and inexpensive vitamin B3, nicotinamide, not only inhibits these cell transformations, but can also reverse that cell transition and slow down the development of eye diseases that may lead to vision loss or blindness. Most fascinating is that these advanced nutrient therapies may prove to effect all tissue types throughout the entire body.

New Insights Into the Mechanisms of the Ketogenic Diet

SHR # 2504 :: New Insights Into the Mechanisms of the Ketogenic Diet - Dr. Detlev Boison, PhD - High-fat, low-carbohydrate ketogenic diets have been used for almost a century for the treatment of epilepsy. Used traditionally for the treatment of refractory pediatric epilepsies, in recent years the use of ketogenic diets has experienced a revival to include the treatment of adulthood epilepsies as well as conditions ranging from autism to chronic pain and cancer. Despite the ability of ketogenic diets therapy to suppress seizures refractory to antiepileptic drugs and reports of lasting seizure freedom, the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. In this interview we explores new insights into mechanisms mobilized by the ketogenic diet.
