Elsa Pataky on the joy and the chaos

Elsa Pataky may be known in Australia as the wife of national treasure/our greatest export, actor Chris Hemsworth. But she’s actually more famous than her Thor-star husband in her home country of Spain. And we think the more that Australian gets to know this horseback-riding, yoga-loving mum of three, the more we’ll think of Chris as ‘Elsa Pataky’s husband’.   We caught up with Elsa on set for her Body+Soul cover shoot in Byron Bay’s hinterland, and she was surprisingly candid about the chaos of motherhood, the realities of ageing, what self-care means to her now, and what the silver linings of COVID have been for herself, Chris, and her family.   You can find Elsa on Instagram at @elsapatakyconfidential   You can read the full cover story over at Body+Soul here.   You can join the conversation, or drop us a question, via the Healthy-ish Australia Facebook page, here.   If you’re up for funny memes and health insp follow Body+Soul on Instagram at @bodyandsoul_au   Or, head to bodyandsoul.com.au for your daily digital dose of health and wellness.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Make the first move (go on).

Emily J. Brooks is a 27-year old Sydney-based author and journalist with a refreshingly positive outlook on love, despite what she calls the ‘dateability penalty’ that ambitious, successful women are burdened with. I asked the Emily how she came to this conclusion, and why the status quo is actually changing… for the better.  Her book is out now (you can nab it here), and follow her on Instagram at @emjbrooks You can join the conversation or drop us a question in the Healthy-ish Australia Facebook page, here. How shaving became our favourite COVID beauty discovery

Stay with us… we’re not talking about shaving our legs. Dermablading - or face shaving - has been around for a while but it’s found renewed interest while we’re all at home more, thanks to coronavirus. After trying it for themselves, Kelsey and Ali have some firm views on this relatively easy at-home skin treatment. Are you game?   Each Thursday, Body+Soul digital editor Alison Izzo (who, by her own admission, is no beauty expert) and Body+Soul beauty editor Kelsey Ferencak (who, is a bonafide expert with years of experience speaking to experts) get together to try and crack the everyday beauty problems that plague us all.   Something Old, Something New: Kelsey's pick: The Beauty Chef Glow Inner Beauty Essential, $65, at The Beauty Chef Ali’s pick: Trinny London Lip Glow, in Indi, $30, at Trinny London   You can join the conversation or drop us a question in the Healthy-ish Australia Facebook page, here.
