Hannes Viljoen: Healing Ourselves Heals Our Team | The Healing Grove Podcast

Hannes Viljoen was a young father when the unimaginable struck. His beautiful firstborn suffered a stroke that left one side of her body completely paralyzed. As he and his wife Jana were grappling to make sense of this, their second son was born with Down Syndrome and such an extreme lack of muscular tone that he was functionally blind and unable to suckle. Just as they were beginning to find their way with the first two, a third child was born, suffering injuries in the birth canal which over time led to many developmental delays, including symptoms of autism. It is hard for me to imagine the degree of loss and grief that would accompany such a series of catastrophes. In this powerful episode, you will hear how Hannes and Jana moved through and beyond their trauma in order to "fight for our children's lives." They have been on a mission to recover all three ever since, and with some amazing results. In addition to hearing where their kids are now, you will also hear about the non-profit Hannes and Jana started to support families of children with special needs, on each and every limb of their tree.To learn more about the Brain Child Fund, visit: https://brainchildfund.org/To learn more about the Ashes to Diamonds program for families of children with special needs, visit: https://brainchildfund.org/ashes-to-diamonds-program/The Healing Grove Playbook is now available for purchase! On this episode, I am excited to introduce you to my friend, Monifa Harris.Monifa is a trained operatic singer who is passionate about helping others understand the connection between their voice, their breath, and manifesting the changes they seek in their lives. In her work as a vocal coach, Monifa teaches clients how to use their breath to release creativity in every area of their lives so they can move forward with confidence, ease, and flow. Given that she has used her voice to perform on stages all over the world, it might be hard to believe that Monifa was once a shy and anxious child. And her story of finding and learning to use her own voice is all the more powerful as a result. To learn more about Monifa Harris, visit: https://www.monifaharris.comThe Healing Grove Playbook is now available for purchase! Barbara Kleeb, MD: Setting Better Boundaries | The Healing Grove Podcast

In this episode, we explore the fine and often lost art of setting healthy boundaries.Dr. Barbara Kleeb is a singer, songwriter, photographer, and all-around rock star who also happens to be an Obstetrician/Gynecologist. Over the past few years, she has dedicated all her free time to creating novel ways to teach people how to say "NO"--authentically, respectfully, and effectively. This is a passion project born of watching too many of her patients struggle with illnesses that have, as part of their root causes, the inability to honor an authentic "NO."You can check out the music of Barbara Kleeb here: http://www.barbarakleeb.com/The Healing Grove Playbook is now available for purchase! Brent Davis, DC: Reprogramming the Mind | The Healing Grove Podcast

In this episode, we have another simple, natural, and potentially life-changing tool to explore: uncut flower essences. When I first bumped into Dr. Brent Davis, DC, at a conference for Bioregulatory Medicine a few years back, I knew I had encountered a unique and important human. He was in the middle of describing to another conference attendee how the use of uncut flower essences can simply--almost instantaneously--reprogram years of old, stuck beliefs and traumas. If you know me well, then you know he had me at "simply" and "instantaneously."  We all carry around years of baggage that no longer serves us.You know the kind of programming I mean. It's all bunk and can stick to us for years until we find a way to scrape it off for good. And uncut flower essences can do just that. For more information about Brent Davis and his work, please visit:https://www.davisvitalhealthcenter.com/meet-dr-brent-davishttps://doctordavis3dayholistichealthintensive.com/https://www.floralive.com/about-us/dr-davisThe Healing Grove Playbook is now available for purchase! Matthew and Carol Newell:The Brain Can Heal | The Healing Grove Podcast

Matthew and Carol Newell are the Founders and Directors of The Family Hope Center, an organization near and dear to my heart. When I made the tough decision in 2014 to put my dreams for a community wellness center on hold to work as their medical director, it was because it was clear that they were doing something truly unique, and uniquely effective, in the world of brain health and recovery. I just knew I had to be a part of it.Brains-not-working-optimally are all around us. One in every four children struggles with some type of neurological disorder--whether it's autism, dyslexia, anxiety, OCD, low tone, ADHD, cerebral palsy, or something else. Nearly one in six adults will suffer from neurological symptoms in their lifetime, too: consider not only Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS, stroke, and multiple sclerosis, but also all of those "senior moments," not to mention the ubiquitous brain fog that we've all experienced from time to time.So if you have a brain (check), care about wellness (check), and would like to better understand how the brain can be stimulated to grow, heal, and reorganize (well?)....then this episode is for you!For more information on the Matthew and Carol Newell and the Family Hope Center, visit: https://www.familyhopecenter.comThe Healing Grove Playbook is now available for purchase!
