Anita Kopacz: Reclaiming Pleasure | The Healing Grove Podcast
Anita Kopacz calls herself a "pleasure alchemist," because her passion is helping people reclaim their innate ability to experience and enjoy pleasure after trauma. She is also an award-winning writer of two books, Finding Your Way and the recently published Shallow Waters. She received her Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies at UC Berkeley, her MA in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, and is a certified Tantric coach. I can personally attest to her power as a coach, intuitive, and healer...not to mention her loving, compassionate, playful spirit, which I have been blessed to experience firsthand since early childhood. Anita is also an activist. She was inspired to create the Zero F’s Given campaign because she is a thriving survivor of sexual abuse. She has utilized numerous modes of healing to reclaim her power, the strongest of which continues to be communing with circles of women.Learn more about the work of Anita Kopacz and the Zero F's Given Movement here: https://www.zerofsgiven.online/and here: https:// www.goddesswisdomcouncil.comAnita also has an upcoming retreat that you might want to check out: https://www.goddesswisdomcouncil.com/s-projects-side-by-side The Healing Grove Playbook is now available for purchase! Brent Davis, DC: Reprogramming the Mind | The Healing Grove Podcast
In this episode, we have another simple, natural, and potentially life-changing tool to explore: uncut flower essences. When I first bumped into Dr. Brent Davis, DC, at a conference for Bioregulatory Medicine a few years back, I knew I had encountered a unique and important human. He was in the middle of describing to another conference attendee how the use of uncut flower essences can simply--almost instantaneously--reprogram years of old, stuck beliefs and traumas. If you know me well, then you know he had me at "simply" and "instantaneously." We all carry around years of baggage that no longer serves us.You know the kind of programming I mean. It's all bunk and can stick to us for years until we find a way to scrape it off for good. And uncut flower essences can do just that. For more information about Brent Davis and his work, please visit:https://www.davisvitalhealthcenter.com/meet-dr-brent-davishttps://doctordavis3dayholistichealthintensive.com/https://www.floralive.com/about-us/dr-davisThe Healing Grove Playbook is now available for purchase! Matthew and Carol Newell:The Brain Can Heal | The Healing Grove Podcast
Matthew and Carol Newell are the Founders and Directors of The Family Hope Center, an organization near and dear to my heart. When I made the tough decision in 2014 to put my dreams for a community wellness center on hold to work as their medical director, it was because it was clear that they were doing something truly unique, and uniquely effective, in the world of brain health and recovery. I just knew I had to be a part of it.Brains-not-working-optimally are all around us. One in every four children struggles with some type of neurological disorder--whether it's autism, dyslexia, anxiety, OCD, low tone, ADHD, cerebral palsy, or something else. Nearly one in six adults will suffer from neurological symptoms in their lifetime, too: consider not only Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS, stroke, and multiple sclerosis, but also all of those "senior moments," not to mention the ubiquitous brain fog that we've all experienced from time to time.So if you have a brain (check), care about wellness (check), and would like to better understand how the brain can be stimulated to grow, heal, and reorganize (well?)....then this episode is for you!For more information on the Matthew and Carol Newell and the Family Hope Center, visit: https://www.familyhopecenter.comThe Healing Grove Playbook is now available for purchase! Zen Honeycutt: Why Eating Organic Matters | The Healing Grove Podcast
Zen Honeycutt, founder and CEO of Moms Across America, never set out to be the leader of a national movement raising awareness about toxins in our food supply. She was a mom...and then two of her three kids got sick. One developed food allergies so severe they almost lost him one Thanksgiving when he inadvertently ingested a pecan that was hidden in the stuffing. Another went from a happy, healthy, academically strong adolescent to severe symptoms of autism in a matter of months. You will hear in this incredible interview how she ultimately recovered them both, and how it sparked in her a deep sense of purpose and obligation to share what she now knows with others. For more information on Moms Across America and their latest news, go to:https://www.momsacrossamerica.com/national_school_lunch_testingTo learn more about how Moms Across America is partnering with local communities to build food empowerment and resilience, check out:https://neighborhoodfoodnetwork.comThe Healing Grove Playbook is now available for purchase! Sunjya Schweig,MD: The Puzzle of Complex Illness | The Healing Grove Podcast
This week we continue to map the terrain, but from a slightly different angle and with an eye towards what we might need to cultivate--both inner and outer--in order to be optimally well. This week's talk by my colleague Dr. Sunjya Schweig addresses systems of care designed to boost the engagement of the most important person on your healing team: you. I have personally been following Dr. Schweig’s work for a long time. Not only is he a functional medicine expert who is brilliant at articulating how to get to the root of complex, chronic, mysterious symptoms, but he also has a genuine heart for his patients, and a desire to serve. Like me, he is a family doctor whose career took an unexpected detour due to a complex mystery illness--not his own illness, but that of his wife. Since then, he has become a leader in the world of integrative, holistic, evidence-based and data-driven practice, teaching doctors and scientists both nationally and internationally that multi-system illnesses such as Lyme, SIBO, and mold injury need both a “high tech” (data-driven) and “high-touch” (heart-centered and holistic) approach. To learn more about Dr. Schweig and the California Center for Functional Medicine, visit: https://www.ccfmed.comOther resources mentioned in this podcast:-ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society)https://www.ilads.org-IFM (The Institute for Functional Medicine)https://www.ifm.org-Bay Area Lyme Foundationhttps://www.bayarealyme.orgThe Healing Grove Playbook is now available for purchase! Stephanie Seneff, PhD: The Dangers of Roundup | The Healing Grove Podcast
Dr. Stephanie Seneff is a senior researcher at MIT who has spent the past decade focusing on the biological effects of the pervasive herbicide glyphosate, also known as RoundUpTM. In this sobering talk, we hear about just how prevalent this herbicide is in our world today, and begin to scratch the surface of the myriad of harmful effects it has in the body. As with last week’s talk, there may be some overwhelm for you while listening, but Stephanie leaves us with a short and sweet list of steps we can take not only to reduce our exposure to this substance, but also to support the body in eliminating it.The Healing Grove Playbook is now available for purchase!
