Matthew and Carol Newell are the Founders and Directors of The Family Hope Center, an organization near and dear to my heart. When I made the tough decision in 2014 to put my dreams for a community wellness center on hold to work as their medical director, it was because it was clear that they were doing something truly unique, and uniquely effective, in the world of brain health and recovery. I just knew I had to be a part of it.

Brains-not-working-optimally are all around us. One in every four children struggles with some type of neurological disorder--whether it's autism, dyslexia, anxiety, OCD, low tone, ADHD, cerebral palsy, or something else. Nearly one in six adults will suffer from neurological symptoms in their lifetime, too: consider not only Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS, stroke, and multiple sclerosis, but also all of those "senior moments," not to mention the ubiquitous brain fog that we've all experienced from time to time.
