Podcast 055 – Systems for Performance and Culture in High School with Kevin Vanderbush
Kevin graduated from Purdue University in 1984, and received his Masters degree from Indiana University in 1995. He has received his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credentials through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He is also the Co-Founder of the National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA).
Coach Vanderbush has received five different national award including the National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA) Hall of Fame, the American Football Monthly’s Samson High School Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year, the NSCA – High School Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year Award, the AFLAC – National Assistant Coach of the Year Award and the Professional Football Strength and Conditioning Coaches Society – National High School Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year Award.
Coach Vanderbush is in his 40th year as the strength and conditioning coach for all sports at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, IN. He teaches advanced weight training, which is a class that involves both strength training and athletic enhancement activities.

Podcast 054 – The Art of High Performance Training with Eric Cressey
Eric Cressey is president and co-founder of Cressey Sports Performance, with facilities located in Hudson, MA and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Eric is perhaps best known for his extensive work with baseball players, and his role with the New York Yankees organization as Director of Player Health and Performance.
An accomplished author, Cressey has authored over 500 published articles and has been featured in such local and national publications as Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, ESPN, T-Muscle, Yahoo Sports, The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald, Baseball America, The Worcester Telegram, Perform Better, Oxygen, Experience Life, Triathlete Magazine, Collegiate Baseball, Active.com, The Metrowest Daily News, Parents and Kids, and EliteFTS. Eric has published five books and co-created four DVD sets that have been sold in over 60 countries around the world.
Eric has been an invited guest speaker in six countries and over 20 U.S. states. He serves on the advisory boards for both the IYCA and Precision Nutrition, and is a baseball consultant to New Balance. He also served as the strength and conditioning coach to the USA Baseball Under-18 National Team that won the gold medal at the 2015 World Cup in Osaka, Japan.
As a competitive powerlifter, Eric holds several state, national, and world records. A mainstay in the Powerlifting USA Top 100 lifts in his weight class, Cressey has competition bests of 540 squat, 402 bench, 650 deadlift, and 1532 total in the 165-pound weight class.

Podcast 053 – Unbreakable Strength with Dr. Mike Hartle
Dr. Mike Hartle is not only a chiropractic physician, but he is also a board- certified Clinical Nutritionist (DACBN), a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), an Active Release Technique (ART) provider since 1995, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He is also a Master StrongFirst Certified Instructor with StrongFirst (StrongFirst.com). He is the co- developer of the StrongFirst SFL Barbell Certification. Dr. Michael travels around the USA and the world teaching barbell and kettlebell certifications. He is currently in his second year of getting his Ph.D. in Exercise Science.
A former nationally-ranked powerlifter, who has won several national titles with USA Powerlifting, Dr. Michael was the Vice President for 2 years in addition to being the Drug Testing Chairman for 5 years. He was also the Chairman of the Sports Medicine Committee of USA Powerlifting (USAPL) for over 20 years, a committee he created in 1994 with USAPL. Starting in 1998, he was the Head Coach of the USAPL World Bench Press Team for 8 years, coaching the US Team to the 2004 International Powerlifting Federation World Championship Team Title. His best competition lifts are 705 lb. squat, 535 lb. bench press and 635 lb. deadlift with a best combined total of the three lifts of 1,840 lbs. in the former 275 lb. weight class.
For the next 10 years, he was playing semi-pro football, defensive tackle, and loving it! His football team, the Adams County Patriots, won the National AA Semi-Pro Football Championship in 2008 and were undefeated for 2 years straight

Tony Abbatine is a mental skills coach and college professor who specializes in vision and its effect on performance.
He is the author of the book “Beyond the Ball: The Visual and Emotional Habits of High Performers”. As a Certified Open Focus Coach (COFTC) his work in the area of Visual Psychology has been featured in Sports Illustrated, The New York Times, USA Today, Newsweek and ESPN. He has been a consultant to several Major League Baseball teams, numerous college programs and for the last five years has been the Performance Coach for the USA Women’s Olympic Softball team.
Tony is a regular on the speaking circuit in the US and internationally, with recent presentations made in Dubai, Italy, France, Germany, Holland and Japan.
He is the Founder and Director of Performance at Frozen Ropes, a US based company that offers coaching support to amateur athletes and coaches. He is also a national columnist for Baseball America where he writes on the latest issues in player development.

Podcast 051 – Intent: A Practical Approach to Sport Science with Devan McConnell
Devan McConnell is currently the High-Performance Director for the Arizona Coyotes in the National Hockey League.
Devan was previously with the New Jersey Devils where he served as their Director of Performance Science and Reconditioning. Prior to his time in New Jersey, he previously served as the Head of Hockey Performance and Sport Science at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Devan also previously served as the Sports Performance Coordinator at Stanford University from 2008-11 where he worked closely with the women’s basketball team as well as the men’s and women’s volleyball programs. During his time at Stanford, women’s basketball competed in three consecutive Final Fours while the women’s volleyball team competed in two Final Fours and the men’s volleyball program won the 2010 NCAA Championship.
Devan is also the co-author, along with Justin Roethingshoefer, of the book “Intent – A Practical Approach to Applied Sport Science for Athletic Development”

Dr. Kelly Starrett is a coach, physical therapist, author, and speaker. Along with his wife Juliet, Kelly is co-founder of The Ready State. Steve grew up in England playing soccer and played semi-professionally in England and Scotland for several years. He obtained a bachelor’s degree In Physical Education from Liverpool University in 1984 and after teaching and coaching for five years, he emigrated to the United States to play and coach soccer in 1989. Previously, Steve spent over 20 years as UK Elite Soccer’s Director of Professional Development. In addition to 30 years of coaching soccer players and coaches from recreational to elite levels, Steve has 20 years of experience working with the Special Olympics of New Jersey in powerlifting and track and field. He is a licensed EFA (England Football Association), USC (United Soccer Coaches), SONJ (Special Olympics of NJ), BFUT (BFUT Football Institute), and USSF (United States Soccer Federation) as well as USA Baseball coach, and has presented to a variety of Organizations and at regional and national conferences on the importance of building character and leadership in young people through sports.
