Episode 74 – Must Be Nice’itis
In another nice episode of We Only LOOK Thin, we find out that Donald a little bit jealous and Catherine is a little bit rock and roll (yes, a Donny and Marie reference in 2019). Do you often look at other peoples’ weight loss success and say “must be nice”? Do you think that they must have more free time than you, or a better metabolism, or just have an easier time in general? Sounds like you have Must Be Nice’itis. Donald and Catherine talk about how they spent most of their lives with Must Be Nice’itis until they realized that in the time they spent saying, “Must Be Nice” , they could have taken action and done something themselves. The Tip of the Week (TOW!) is to eat the frog first. How many calories are in frog anyway? The Product of the Week (POW!) is letsmakeart.com. Plus, vegetables aren’t funny, nobody likes beaded curtains, and Chopin; the guy got it done! We Only LOOK Thin is WebMD for your Must Be Nice’itis.

Episode 73 – The Hedonic Treadmill
No, the Hedonic Treadmill is not the Product of the Week (POW!) and it has nothing to do with exercise. Humans have a tendency to return to a relatively stable level of happiness despite major positive (or negative) life changes or events. Scientists in Science Town at Science University call it Hedonic Adaptation. The more athletic scientists call it the Hedonic Treadmill. In other words, reaching your goal weight isn’t the key to unlocking happiness. Finding hope and belief in yourself and realizing that you are capable of great things at any weight is the key. The Tip of the Week (TOW!) is to compare the diet and full calorie versions of what you’re eating and make sure that the diet version is really worth it. The Product of the Week (POW!) is the Happier podcast with Gretchen Rubin. Also, Catherine says “pizza boats” 87 times, you find out that she was the football captain in junior varsity polo, and Donald and Catherine are a rag tag bunch like the A-Team.

Episode 72 – Sleeping with the Enemy
Do you want to know who was in the movie sleeping with the enemy? You’ll have to Google it because Donald and Catherine have no idea. What they do know, is that sometimes we have to deal with unreliable people in our lives. Prepare to reel into madness at the shocking twist that when you’re trying to lose weight, the most unreliable person is often times YOU. Catherine and Donald give you some tips on dealing with your unreliable self. The Tip of the Week (TOW!) is not to “just-ify” your choices. The Product of the week (TOW!) is the Tile tracker. Also, Catherine doesn’t know the lyrics to the song that is tattooed on her wrist and Donald didn’t realize that Catherine even has a tattoo.

Episode 71 – Office Space
This week we’re going to knock you down your worth of salt. That will sort of make sense after you listen. Many people have jobs and many of the people who have jobs eat food every day. There are a thousand things working against you at work; there’s stress, free food in the kitchen, fast food lunches, vendor snacks, food pushers, and Tim from accounting bringing in homemade baked treats just to name a few. Catherine and Donald talk about navigating your work place and your work week in a way that helps you achieve your fitness goals. The Tip of the Week (TOW!) is to put a list on the fridge. The Product of the Week (POW!) is the website My Achievement http://tinyurl.com/yb3mpa7d. Plus, Catherine drops a bummer statistic, Donald admits to a weakness for convenience store egg salad sandwiches, and the couple urge Dolly Parton to record a version of “9 to 5” to fit everyone’s possible work hours.

Episode 70 – Orange is the New Snack
Live from Folsom Prison, Catherine and Donald prove that this is not a one-note podcast. It has at least 3 notes. We spend so much time thinking that the perfect weight-loss moment is out of our reach. We say to ourselves, “If Only” and keep ourselves in a prison of our own making. Catherine and Donald talk about becoming the champion of your own choices and breaking out of your self-made cage. There is no magic hubcap; the solution was inside you all along. The Tip of the Week (TOW!) is to Superman 3 your fitness and calories. The Product of the Week (POW!) is the Science Vs. Intermittent Fasting podcast. Plus, Donald wants to be involved in a doppelganger caper and Catherine just wants caper butter.

Episode 69 – Dog the Boundary Hunter
If you’re like most people, when you think about boundaries, you probably think about plate tectonic boundaries. Or perhaps you think about lesser known boundaries between countries. In this episode, Catherine and Donald introduce you to personal boundaries and discuss how they are important to weight loss. The Tip of the Week (TOW!) is to not give homework. The Product of the Week (POW!) is fruit and vegetable wash. Also, we find out that Catherine is her own social secretary, Donald is still emotionally mowing a lawn, and if you’ve made a Waldorf salad, we want to know about it.

Episode 68 – Getting Started Part 3 – One Step Beyond
This episode is madness! Because it’s called “One Step Beyond”, get it? In the third and final part of their award winning series on getting started with weight loss, Catherine and Donald take on purposeful movement and how to work it into your life. It’s a bombardment for your ears, but in a good way. We know it’s not the mental episode, but it turns out it’s all mental. Also, Donald is an arrogant jerk bologna. Episode 67 – Getting Started Part 2 – A Salute to Calories
Have you tried all of the diets and just can’t stick to one? Do you want to lose weight, but don’t even know where to start? In the second of a three part series about getting started, Catherine and Donald talk about how to get on a food plan. Think of this episode as your food compass, pointing you in the right direction. Catherine reveals that the secret is to eat 10 almonds, drink one protein shake, and cry a lot because that burns extra calories (actually a bad idea). Donald reveals that he is secretly the magical calorie wizard. Or maybe he’s just wizened.
