EP 79: How Proper Presentation of Equipment Helps Sell Your Business with Tim Roy of Capitale Analytics

Tim Roy of Capitale Analytics is my first two-time guest. Why? First, I know many equipment appraisers and his ability to articulate the "whys" of value makes it his superpower. He makes complex matters easy to understand. Second, with economic volatility, he is the guy with boots on the ground, seeing what is and is not happening in the capital equipment industry. Below are some of the points we discussed: Proper presentation of equipment assets can help sell a business in equipment-intensive industries such as manufacturing, processing, packaging, and printing. The seller's goal is to help the buyer envision a long runway of continued earnings with the current equipment package, with predictable operating and capital expenses. Each central machine or production area should be treated as its own "mini-business" and profit center, with assigned operating and earnings costs, and planned operating expenses, capital expenses, and replacements. The seller should have a detailed assignment of operating expenses and a central asset tagging and tracking system that increases clarity. Consistent capital expenses and a long-term capital expenditure plan build confidence. The seller should begin organizing the business today, showing three years of detailed operating expenses and having a well-thought-out capital expense plan, even before having a potential buyer. EP 78: How to Value and Sell a Website with Mushfiq Sarker of the Website Flip

Few claim to have done over 220 deals, but Mushfiq Sarker can.  Below is a summary of how Musfiq buys an existing website, improves it, and sells it for a profit. Here is a summary of the basic steps involved in flipping a website: Find a website to buy: Look for undervalued websites or with growth potential. You can use marketplaces like Flippa, Empire Flippers, or FE International to find websites for sale. Analyze the website: Look at its traffic, revenue, and expenses to determine if it's a good investment. You can use tools like Google Analytics and SEMrush to gather data about the website. Improve the website: Once you have bought the website, improve to increase its value. This can include optimizing content for SEO, improving the design, and adding new features. Build traffic and revenue: Use marketing techniques like SEO, content marketing, and social media to drive traffic to the website and increase its revenue. Sell the website: Once you have improved it and increased its value, it's time to sell it. List the website on a marketplace and provide potential buyers with all relevant information. Close the sale: Negotiate the price with potential buyers and complete the transaction once you agree. About Mushfiq Sarker Mushfiq is a prolific investor that buys, grows, and sells online businesses, specializing in content websites. He has done 220 website flips to date and several have resulted in 6-figure exits. Innovative and convenient digital startups and services threaten to disrupt the traditional car-sale process, egged on by consumers who aren’t happy with the existing sales process. If car dealerships don’t adapt, they too will face an industry-wide extinction. Perfect Dealership offers help and hope for dealerships struggling to adapt to this digital-based paradigm shift.
