143 - After Betrayal: Kylene’s Unfiltered Truth
In today’s episode, Patrick interviews me (Kylene) and asks me questions about my experience as a betrayed partner.
Some things we discuss are:
What was discovery like for me
How was I able to express my emotions
What were things that Patrick did that were helpful or hurtful
What do I wish all addicts knew
Why vulnerable conversations are so important
And more…
We hope that this episode both resonates. My story isn’t your story, but I know there are many aspects that may feel similar.
One thing I share in this episode is how intensely long, difficult and painful this journey was for me. We can’t sugar coat that reality. But what we also hope to communicate, is that through the healing process there can be something better on the other side. Whether a couple stays together or goes separate ways, healing offers us an opportunity to create a life we enjoy.

141 - 4 Myths in the Recovery Community
This week we are discussing 4 myths (that we think keep people stuck) in the recovery community.
Patrick and I deeply believe in our mission to bring education and awareness around recovery because we know the freedom in your life that it can bring.
That being said, there are several beliefs in the recovery and faith communities that we see keeping people from reaching their full potential in life.
4 myths we discuss today:
1. Your suffering is holy
2. Anyone who wants to lead a recovery group should (even if they aren't in recovery)
3. Addiction is permanent
4. Women can't have autonomy in marriage
In contrast to the above, we believe in:
1. Personal responsibility and boundaries
2. Lead by example
3. Addiction is reversible and you can achieve full freedom from it
4. Men and women are equal in marriage some we both lead each other in different areas

138 - Where Modesty Culture Goes Wrong
Modesty is a good thing right? But what if the messaging around modesty keeps individuals stuck and instead of protecting people, actually causes harm?
In today’s episode Kylene and Patrick discuss why they think that the pornography culture and modesty culture have the same end impact —> that is, communicating that humans are objects.
We know this is a sticky topic and one that involves deeply rooted faith culture, personal conviction and more. We encourage you to listen to this episode with open hearts.
