56.Gladys McGarey: How Embracing Life Can Heal the Body, Heal the Soul and Change our Reality

“We don’t have change, if we don’t expect it”I’ve had a lot of interesting people on the Stay Grounded podcast during 2018, but this week’s episode broke a new record. At 98, Dr Gladys McGarey is our oldest guest yet.Dr. Gladys has devoted her entire life to changing the face of modern medicine - and she’s seen so much. She grew up in India where both her parents worked as medical missionaries during the 1920s and she trained to become a doctor during World War II.Instead of a focus on healing, she felt medicine was too focused on ‘getting rid’ of the things we don’t want such as pain, disease, and bacteria. So, instead of being ‘at war’ with our bodies, Gladys became passionate about life and living. This sparked a lifelong mission to explore holistic medicine, which led to Gladys co-founding the American Holistic Medical Association in 1977.She was the first person to utilize Acupuncture in the United States - and trained others how to use it.The Foundation for Living Medicine was created from her visionary life - with the mission to create a healthier world by fostering our own capacity to heal and to further extraordinary legacies, regardless of age or medical history. She’s widely considered to be The Mother of Holistic Medicine - and I can see why.Dr Gladys is one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met.You can feel her warmth, love, and passion for life in her voice, which is why I know this episode is going to spark something inside of you.Her “5 Ls” may encourage you to take a fresh approach to your own wellness journey. Her incredible stories of healing may inspire some healing of your own.And her belief that we all have a physician within may help you listen more intently to your own inner wisdom, that’s always ready to guide us.So tune in.You’ll learn plenty from this 98-year-old who has the passion, vitality, and vibrancy of someone half her age - and get inspired to create the same. Enjoy! This episode is for you if: Are curious about a holistic approach to wellnessWant to know more about alternative practices for healingAre in the mood for endless gems of wisdomWant to learn more about Living Medicine Host: Raj JanaGuest: Dr. Gladys McGareyResources: Foundation for Living Medicine Hosted on Acast. 54. Dmitry Kozlov - Dancing with Fear in the Face of Change

“The universe doesn’t stop giving us likes and clues, we just develop a resistance to hearing them because they’re usually inconvenient” This week’s episode is definitely one of my favorites. Dmitriy Kozlov, who I affectionately refer to as Dima, is a successful entrepreneur , spoken word poet, and a friend who I attribute a lot of my personal growth to. Dima’s purpose in life is to accelerate the evolution of love through inspiring and empowering influencers. One of the ways he does that is through his company, Influex - an agency that specializes in building personal brand websites that express essence and amplify influence. (in fact, the Influex team built www.rajjana.com!) But this podcast is less about business and more about self-awareness and personal evolution. I’ve never met anyone so willing to dance with demons and let go of attachments. Dima isn’t afraid of ‘ego death’ - if there’s any chance it will take him closer to his truth. He’s not afraid to be vulnerable and to reveal his heart (and his soul) to others. He doesn’t even care if his entire life turns upside down - as long at that turmoil brings him closer to who he really is. Dima is all about living his fullest life possible and I’m sure that in this episode, he’ll inspire you to do the same. What I value most about Dima, and you’ll hear it all throughout our conversation, is his ability clearly articulate his thoughts, feelings and emotions with a sense of poetic justice. It’s all communicated from a place of love, and the way that he shares the deepest and most vulnerable parts of himself will leave you empowered to share your own story in a beautifully unique way. So tune in now and discover what incredible things you can open up for yourself (and your life) when you listen to your inner voice. Discover what happens when you actually trust the universe to take care of you. Find out what’s possible when you transform pain into purpose and allow challenges to guide you on a hero’s journey that takes you ever closer to your core. Because once you go within, you’ll never go without.Resources: Story: https://dmitriykozlov.com/my-story/ Website: https://www.influex.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dmitriykozlov This episode is great for you if you  Are struggling with tuning into your internal voiceAre experiencing fear around making changes in your lifeAre feeling stuck in terms of your career or are figuring out who you areWant to learn more about how powerful of a tool vulnerability and authenticity can be  [05:22] Dima, more than anyone that I know, is extremely attuned his feelings, emotions, passions and motivations. We discuss his journey of self awareness and how he came to this journey of personal evolution. He discussed his experience with depression at age 13; being an immigrant, he was subjected to a lot of bullying and eventually joined a gang as an act of rebellion. That same year he attempted suicide and it was surviving that experience that gave him a renewed energy for life. These moments of renewal continued to show up in his life - what he describes as “deaths” and “rebirths;” there would be things in the Universe that would pull him to a mini death of what his life was at that moment and into a rebirth process of following his truth and his heart.[9:10] “If you’re sensitive enough or awake enough, staying stuck in whatever life you’re in, even if it seems good on the surface - I can listen my soul crying, I could feel that pain inside” Dima says that the pain of not living the life of your desired dreams can trigger a quick, mini death that drives things forward, brings about change, growth and evolution or it can feel like a more slow, painful death from the inside out. On the other side of that pain exists courage, strength and even naivety to keep moving forward, often into the unknown. [12:15] I asked him how to tune into that voice, especially when things are going well. How do you hear the voice and how do you learn to trust it? We’re surrounded by voices, from the people in our lives, including our own. The lesson is figuring out how to understand them so that we can decipher which are the messages from divine guidance/intuition. Dima mentioned it’s important to develop this relationship with those voices so that we can be aware of them since they don’t always come from our higher self. Knowing the difference gives us the power to choose. [18:12] We talk about the power of authenticity and vulnerability. I talk to Dima about vulnerability and how it plays in his life. His biggest lesson has been learning to share his truth with himself and others. He says that our world becomes a reflection of ourselves and he wants to live in a world where people are vulnerable and free to authentically express, that has to start with him! [18:57] We all want to be seen, that’s the deepest human need and vulnerability is the key. It unlocks our own doors and breaks down the walls for us to be seen for who we are. It also does the same for others, giving them room to tear down their walls allows for an authentic connection. We also touch on navigating the need to be seen versus the need to be validated. Dima says validation and vulnerability doesn’t always jive. [26:30] Being vulnerable when you feel like the world is expecting something from you has happened to Dima multiple times - especially w/ having to reconcile his internal feelings with having an external identity that’s based on clarity, vision and an ability to lead. He had a recent experience after Burning Man and had a vulnerable conversation with his leadership team about what he was able to contribute. By addressing his limitations, he created a conversation with his team around their dreams and visions, followed by a discussion on how they could manifest them into the culture without having to rely on him to contribute at full capacity. [32:31] “Truth is more powerful than any of the most powerful lies” was his response when I asked him why he thinks that things tend to line up when we lean into radical honesty and authenticity. Even if it doesn’t appear that way, honoring our truth is always more aligned with what the Universe is conjuring up. [38:27] We talk about Dima’s spoken word and what led him to expressing artistically,‘Art is the outlet for whatever wants to come through us that doesn’t always find a channel through the rest of our lives.” He rapped as a teenager and channeled a lot of his darkness and anger. He picked up spoken word at age 25, a time when he was going through a heartbreak. Spoken world has also became a safe way for him to express his emotions. [45:03} Dima shares how he stays grounded with yoga, meditation and journaling. He hasn’t been consistent with each practice but he makes sure to maintain at least one; currently, it’s journaling. He journals 3 pages of stream of consciousness writing daily. Dima suggests that we all do something each day that serves us and to do it consistently.  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

53. Ian Stanley - Success, Surrender and Serenity

“I had this realization that the greatest gift of being a human is the gift of imperfection. The gods or the universe don’t have the luxury of making mistakes and we do. So I relish in how many mistakes I get to make.” It’s officially the most wonderful time of the year, everyone! December is my favorite month, with the new year, literally, right around the corner, this is when I like to take a pause, sit back and reflect on the year. What worked, what didn’t work, what are the areas where I can evolve and grow in the upcoming year? 2018 shot by and it’s important that you take a moment to get grounded and align your mindset for success heading into the New Year! Speaking of success, I can’t wait for you to tune into today’s episode of Stay Grounded. Ian Stanley is a stand up comedian, film maker and one of the best copywriters in the world, selling over $100 million worth of products in the last several years. Ian joins us today to chat about his journey as an entrepreneur and the session with psychotherapist Brent Charleton that changed his life, his business and set him on a new trajectory of success. After that session, Ian and Brent joined forces to create the LionHeart workshop, designed to help uncover and resolve the hidden blocks keeping you from success in business, money, personal relationships, confidence or wherever you’re feeling stuck. I’ve know Ian for a few years and can speak first hand to his transformation. Seeing his journey has been an awesome experience, as I’m always inspired to see entrepreneurs reach a new level of growth. In this episode, Ian and I talk about fear, pain, and why you need to put yourself through the discomfort of growth. We chat about the core problem with entrepreneurs and their inability to slow down - and the damage this causes. We also discussed Ian’s ‘Brad Pitt of dogs’ and the two wolf story that can determine whether you live a life of fear or a life of love and joy. There’s so much good stuff to dive into. So if you’re always working…If you constantly self-sabotage your success…And if you have issues with money…You should definitely tune into this episode. Also, heads up. You’re going to hear “teen” and “child” frequently throughout this conversation. This isn’t a reference to either my or Ian’s children or to young Ian and young Raj. The work we’re discussing is based on the 3 Ego States: The Wounded Child, The Adaptive Teen and the Functioning Adult. Host: Raj JanaGuest: Ian StanelyResources: LionHeart This episode is perfect for you if you:  Are looking to make waves in 2019 as entrepreneur, in your career or with overall success.Want to reach the next level in business or in your personal life and can’t figure out where to begin. Want to align your mindset with your actions and cultivate a life of gratitude, contentment and happiness. [07:25] Having already had so much success ,we discuss why Ian felt the need to see a therapist. He discusses how the things that worked in the past were no longer serving him (this is common for a lot of entrepreneurs) and kept hearing from different masterminds that it would be beneficial for him to go! [10:41] This is where we get into the “why,” things that once worked him, stopped working. Ian talks about how these processes were built during his “adaptive teen” phase, the hustle and grind phase. As you move beyond that ego state to the state of the “functioning adult,” your teen has a hard mellowing out and decompressing. [12:03] Ian tells us about his moment of enlightenment, it hit when he was 19. As great as it was, he noticed that being cut off from negative emotions left him numb because he was also unable to tap into positivity. He says the work to staying grounded and aware never stops - the degrees to it just change. [16:08] Ian talks about how powerful a doing a correction is for tackling old, hindering habits. Now, when his teen makes a cameo appearance - he doesn’t feel the need to succumb to that hustle mentality. The adult takes the reigns, acknowledges the teen and takes the approach to care for himself. [17:53] Both the child and the teen are defined by fear. No surprise, right? Ian says that inside each of us, there’s a part of us that’s scared (the child) and a part of us that’s trying to protect us from that fear (the teen). [20:21] Stand up is the thing that gets Ian’s heart pumping, it also triggers a lot of fear for him. He talked about the shame and guilt he experienced around stand up and realizing that the fear is stemming from this being the thing that he’s supposed to do. He says there’s “no greater fear than becoming who you are.”  [24:50] I ask Ian why someone so successful, and aware of it, would put themselves through all of that emotional work? He says most people, when they actually take a minute to look, find that there’s something missing. The problem is, especially w/ entrepreneurs, is that they don’t slow down enough to take that look.  [32:24] Ian shares a heartfelt story about being reminded about a winner’s mindset and shares with us how feed the good wolf while reconciling the existence of the bad wolf. “Our attachment to emotions is what defines them as “good” or ‘“bad” and each moment we can either resist what’s happening (bad wolf) or surrender to the fact that this moment is your reality and exactly what’s supposed to be happening.” [42:14] I ask Ian how he makes the connection between challenges in his health and diet to other areas of his life. He checks in with himself to identify areas where things are going well - typically there’s a correlation. Ex: Having great success at work, being unable to handle that and using that fear to sabotage your body or your relationships. [55:15] To stay grounded, Ian visualizes his life in the future with a perspective that it won’t necessarily be better, it’ll just be different. Also being in the adult state, you realize that everyone has equal value and we all just express it differently. We all have our own stuff and it comes from things beyond our control - we’re all just trying our best. How to contactYou can find more about Ian and Fixt Water via www.fixtwater.com  Hosted on Acast. 52. Krysta Francoeur - Learning to Trust The Universe

“I’d been doing all these diets in the past to look a certain way rather than feel a certain way.” This week’s guest turned her life around after watching a documentary on Netflix. Rewind four years and not only was Krysta Francoeur 40lb overweight, but she was constantly sick. Prone to illness, infections, colds, severe clinical depression and terrible fibromyalgia symptoms. You name it, for over 15 years Krysta’s life had been marred by poor health and it was preventing her from participating in life fully. That documentary changed everything for Krysta. Not only did it inspire her to transform her relationship with food, but it also kick-started a journey of spiritual discovery and modern day witchcraft. Previously a designer, Krysta is now the founder of Wild Remedies - an online brand that helps people heal through the power of plants. A potion master and lover of nature, Krysta listened to the universe (as you’ll hear in this episode) to create her own brand of Chaga tea. Nowadays, Krysta has her health and as a result she’s able to create a life she loves. So tune in and discover how an understanding of how the universe works can empower you to dance to your own beat. “Health is wealth. If you do not have your health you do not have anything.” One of the things I love most about this episode is the breadth of topics we discuss as we search for the root of health, happiness, and fulfillment. For sure we touch on food as it’s where Krysta’s journey started, then we go deeper. We discuss the power of faith in the universe, why seemingly ‘bad’ emotions are medicine, and the importance of learning from your past and navigating challenges with grace. We discuss meditation, intuition, and the value of health too. Krysta’s search to become whole again inspired me and I just know you’ll feel exactly the same way. So tune in with an open-mind and soak up the wisdom of this modern day witch who’s found her own beautiful route to health and happiness. Let yourself be inspired by the elegant way Krysta has chosen to navigate her life. “Feelings like depression and grief are actually medicine.” Some questions I ask: Why do you think you were able to take someone else’s rock bottom and turn it into something that fuelled positive change you. [6:50]Why do you think a desire to feel a certain way is so powerful at influencing the way you navigate through life. [8:39]Why do you feel fearful of being ill again if you’re so healthy now? [9:40]How does the attitude about the way you feel influence the way you heal? [11:35]How can we know that we’ve learned the lesson from grief? [14:15]When did you realize that astrology and others had wisdom for your life? [19:19]How did you learn to appreciate the small wins when you first started out? [27:58]How do you define faith? [31:47]How do you look at your past differently - especially the hard time - now you have more spiritual awareness? [34:35]How would you teach your younger self that your rock bottom experiences are meant to be experienced? [37:08]How do you stay grounded? [50:30] In this episode, you will hear about: How a diet caused Krysta to lose her gallbladder. [8:22]Krysta’s experience with adrenal fatigue. [10:30]The problem with having negative feelings in today’s society. [12:50]The importance of faith. [18:00]How you can train yourself to be more open to the signs. 51. Adam Roa - The Art of Choosing Love

“I don’t believe there’s a ceiling to how good life can get. I don’t believe there’s a limit to the amount of love I can feel.” Today’s podcast is a little different. Adam and I recorded this just after we first met! We were both at a book launch of a mutual friend in New York City and I had to go up and give him a hug because he’d just blown me away! I know what it’s like to speak on a big stage. That mix of fear and nervous energy is all-consuming - and that’s when you know what you’re going to say! So imagine stepping onto a stage to deliver a poem that hasn’t even been written. Well that’s what Adam did. He delivered the most beautiful, impromptu poem flawlessly. I was so inspired by this man’s ability to dance with the fear that I had to get to know him better. And this podcast episode is the result. Recorded under Brooklyn Bridge in NYC, this was the second deep dive conversation Adam and I had on this day. The first for Adam’s podcast, and the second for episode 51 of the Stay Grounded podcast. So listen in… you’re in for a treat. “Awareness gives us choice and choice leads to change.” As you’ll hear, Adam is an incredible human being. This spoken word poet, filmmaker, and broadcaster has turned raw, authentic self-expression into a work of art which is so inspiring to others. He’s not afraid to dance with fear or pain - instead he embraces it all on his path to ‘choosing love’. In this episode we talk about Adam’s fascination for the mechanics of how reality is created. We go well and truly down the rabbit hole! It’s an education in itself to get a taster at the lens through which this man sees the world. You’ll hear all about how Adam and his partner of 9½ years chose to end their relationship - and why they filmed the breakup. You’ll also hear the reason why Adam is able to find compassion even in the face of childhood trauma. This impromptu episode is a nod to a man who lives a courageous life inspired by the moment. I loved it and I just know you will too. So tune into the wisdom of our new friend, Adam Roa. “Love will always win because that’s all there is.” Some questions I ask: The end of your 9 ½ year relationship. Why is it important to capture moments of yourself that are so vulnerable? [1:40]How did you make the distinction to know that even though something was going well, it wasn’t going right? [5:00]Can you experience pain, but through the lens of love? [11:17]What was the first time you broke the victim cycle in your life? [22:18]Why do you think it’s important to share who we are in order to find who we are? [28:35]How do you forgive in an impossible situation? [52:49]How do you stay grounded? [58:28] In this episode, you will hear about: Why it’s hard to be a human in 2018. [3:22]Going to wizard school and how you can hone intuition as a skill. [7:50]How you cultivate trust in yourself. [16:24]The power of choosing the lens that you look through life. [21:00]The wall between men’s hearts. [35:05]Why curiosity is love. [36:39]The story of Adam’s first ever freestyle poem. 50. Matthew Abrams - How to Reach Your Fullest Potential

“I actually am more brother and sister with people that are across incredibly diverse paths and walks of life than I had ever imagined.” In this 50th episode (woohoo!) of the Stay Grounded Podcast, I wanted to bring you an extra special guest to mark this big milestone. And Matthew Abrams delivered. Matthew’s passion (and life purpose) is to support individuals and collectives to reach their fullest potential. He does this by creating and holding courageous spaces where people feel safe to explore with vulnerability, and honesty. The reason Matthew can do this so beautifully is because of his rich curiosity for himself and his fellow humans. After spending 9 months travelling, living, and working in really diverse cultures Matthew learned first hand how similar we all are - and how are differences can create deep connection. We just have to be prepared to pull away the veil. “There’s something in the space between you and me that’s magic and only together through curiosity and exploration and a commitment to that pursuit can we find it.” This episode is about collective evolution as much as it is about individual development. Matthew addresses the sensitive issue of privilege, religion, and the barriers to wholeness in ourselves and as a collective. Could understanding that we all have a different piece of the puzzle help us find common ground and unite as one? It’s a conversation that can get uncomfortable - Matthew acknowledges this, but inspires us to go to the uncomfortable edge because that’s where all the growth lies.  So brace yourselves for a deep discussion about courage, curiosity, and the need to understand yourself - so you can understand others. Dive into a conversation about vulnerable connection, deep self-awareness, and what can happen when we’re unwilling to go to get curious and walk through the doors that open.. I was so inspired by Matt’s presence and his philosophies - and I’m sure you will feel exactly the same. So settle into this episode and let yourself be inspired and uplifted by your friend, the incredible Matthew Abrams.  “I love holding spaces that are courageous places to explore vulnerability, to explore connection, to explore personal discovery and collective achievement - that’s why I’m on this planet.” Some questions I ask: How did you learn to navigate life in the artful way that you do? [1:30]Do you practice curiosity with yourself? [8:36]How have your fears evolved over time? [15:55]How do you get aware when you’re avoiding the shadow? [21:57]Are there commonalities with your fears or do you fear many things? [24:55]Where does ‘them v us’ come from? [28:00]How has your self-awareness shown up in times when you’ve needed it most? [32:30]How do you accelerate the development of self-awareness? [37:06]How do you train yourself to have the courage to be a beginner? [42:30]How do you stay grounded? [46:33] In this episode, you will hear about: Why Matt’s life began when he was 27. [1:35]The role of curiosity in our lives. [6:28]Privilege: How society supports Matt to NOT be curious about himself and how it influences how he sees the world. [9:58]What causes ‘otherness’, religion, and how we get fragmented as humans. [14:00]The conversation Matthew’s has with his fears when they show up. [19:20]The 5% ‘edge’ - why we avoid it, and why it’s where the magic sits. [31:26]The story of Matthew’s parents’ divorce. [33:40]The discipline to do the ‘work’ and two powerful reflection questions to ask yourself. 49. Jesse Elder - Actualizing the Life YOU Want

“I can have whatever I want - I just have to think about it.” It’s not often that you get to sit down with a man who sees no limits. We live in a society where we’re conditioned to be average. We’re surrounded by restrictions and limitations that compel us to settle for less and drop dreams of a better life. Jesse Elder doesn’t see life in the same way that most of us do. The oldest of five, Jesse was homeschooled and raised in an environment where he was given a free reign. He had permission to explore his passions and his interests - free of the restrictions that most of us face. The freedom allowed him to take ownership of the things that got him excited. And it began to program his mind to view life through a radically different lens. Jesse is the modern day action philosopher. And in this episode, you’ll discover how you can use your thoughts to get more out of your life - whether that’s more health, wealth, happiness, wisdom, or success. So listen in with an open-mind and an open heart. You’re going to hear insights that will challenge the norm. You will hear ideas that go against the grain. But Jesse’s results speak for themselves. Through his Mind Vitamins, his coaching programs, and mentorships, Jesse has helped hundreds of thousands of people live life on their terms. And thanks to this podcast, you can have that experience too.“When you accept yourself 100% unconditionally, when you appreciate yourself unconditionally, and when you actually love yourself unconditionally, the world starts to reflect that - every single time - and you begin to live without resistance - other than the resistance that you’re consciously selecting for the purpose of enjoying the game.” Jesse takes us down all sorts of crazy rabbit holes in this episode.  We talk about fear, perception, pain, time, meditation, presence, resistance, visualization - you name it! This powerful conversation reveals the strategies and mindsets Jesse uses to experience true freedom. So get ready to reengineer your life. Get ready to explore how you can use your mind to create the life you really want. I took so much value from this episode and I know the same will be true for you. “Presence is the inevitable state of a human who suspends their addiction to linear time.” Some questions I ask: Was there an experience in your life that made visualization your preferred method of manifesting future - and when was the first time you witnessed the power of visualization in your life? [1:15]Why were you able to evade some of the clouding and distractions that comes from churches, schools, and parents? [6:10]How does the energy of fear feel to you? [16:39]If you introduce calculated struggle in your life, can you access enhanced states on demand? Have you experienced this in your life? [20:35]Why does the mind play resistance on repeat - even when we’ve realized the truth? [22:22]How do you accelerate the process of reengineering your life in a sea of average? [26:00]How does creating new normals expand your self awareness? [29:32]What would you teach a child? [36:10]What role does presence play and how do you cultivate it? [37:39]How do you stay grounded? [47:20] In this episode, you will hear about: The moment Jesse realized there was nothing he couldn’t have. [3:00]When logic can be an amazing tool for you - and what you can do instead if you think you can’t do the things you want. [10:15]The two reasons Jesse doesn’t fear anything anymore. [14:56]Why we live in a society that’s completely designed to create average people. [23:25]The importance of creating new experiences every day. 48. Steve Sims - Don’t Be Afraid To Fail

“Experiences develop you. They define you. They refine your attitude.”This episode’s guest has been called “The Real Life Wizard of Oz" by Forbes and Entrepreneur Magazine because he has the ability to make the impossible, possible.Nowadays, Steve Sims rubs shoulders with celebrities and billionaires. His luxury personal concierge service, Bluefish, creates incredible experiences for its members and allows Steve to live an interesting life vicariously through his clients. But it wasn’t always this way. Steve started out as a bricklayer. As an East London boy who grew up in a low income family, he was well versed in the ‘them vs us’ culture. He’d look at the people who seemed to have it all and wondered why he couldn’t live like that. When he realized there was no real reason (and it was all in his head), he started to challenge himself to live a fuller life on a daily basis. And in this episode, Steve shares how you can do the same by using experiences to seize life by the horns and infuse everyday with surprise, delight, and wonder - even without money.“People want more what they can feel. What they can engage with and be immersed with rather than what they can stick on their wrist.”But why do experiences create such a potent way of living?Steve reveals how we’re questioning the value of material possessions more and more. We’re asking ourselves value do physical items really have? We don’t have to buy a $50k watch, we can join a club and borrow one. We don’t have to own a Ferrari, we can rent one.Experiences transcend any money and touch you somewhere much deeper. They’re a pattern interrupt and they change you for life. Once you’ve had an experience it doesn’t matter what else happen in your life. You’ve always got that moment and that memory. But that’s not all…The process of creating experiences also requires you face your fear of failure. They provide insane growth opportunities. It’s why this conversation with Steve dives into juicy topics such as risk taking, judgement, being the dumbest person in the room, and even finding your ‘unicorn’. So buckle up! This whisky loving biker is going to take you on a crazy ride that might just transform how you live your life for good.“You don’t need to have all of the answers to grow. You just need to have the ability to be open and listen to those who know more than you.” Some questions I ask:You’ve worked with some incredible people. Why do you think people who have it all are so intrigued by the experiences you create for them? [6:02]What makes an experience worth changing in your mind? [10:26]How do you use experiences to grow? [19:40]How do you get to be OK with people seeing you fail? [32:43]How do you build the awareness to know what you should be learning from different people? [39:59]What’s the most interesting 5% that you discovered someone else had that you didn’t know existed? [43:55]How do you stay grounded? [54:52] In this episode, you will hear about:Why Steve is so fascinated with delivering experiences. [8:30]The bike story and how it teaches us to let bad experiences refine you, NOT define you. [14:00]Why Steve chooses appetizers that he doesn’t know. [20:54]The story of the fall in the mall and what it teaches us about fear. [27:00]The crab story and what it teaches us about judgement and other people’s success. [34:34]The BMX story - why you don’t have to be an expert to get the answers and make the right choices. [39:13]How Steve figures out his client’s ‘unicorn’ - and how you can do this for you.
