Today I’ve got a special Tuesday edition of The Lively Show for you with one of my favorite food bloggers when it comes to cooking or baking healthy, delicious comfort food, Monique Volz of Ambitious Kitchen. In January, many of us oftentimes start to think about small, healthful adjustments we’d like to make to our eating habits. So I’ve asked Monique to share 11 easy ways we can start to eat more nutritiously without sacrificing flavor aside from the (in)famous coconut. This episode is perfect for anyone who wants to learn about some fun, easy cooking + baking swaps that will naturally infuse more nutrition into our favorite comfort foods, or loves food blogs. IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL FIND OUT ABOUT Monique tells us how Ambitious Kitchen started from her days in college and how she wanted a place to share the things she was making. She tells us how eating “unhealthy” and her college weight gain pushed her to discover the better ways to cook and eat right. Monique reviews with us the things we can do in the kitchen to start having more nutritional and balanced choices by using mindful food “swaps.” She shares with us her favorite food swaps and recipes. Monique tells us how important it is to incorporate more veggies in every meal and how to do so. TLS #114: Making New Friends, My New Budget, Self Care Tips & Thoughts on Eating Dairy + Gluten Free
Today I’m answering a plethora of listener questions shared on Instagram. We’re covering a huge array of topics including the gluten + dairy free lifestyle, making new friends (and letting go of other friendships), dealing with family and friend reactions to my non-traditional career/relationship/life choices, podcasting tips, and much more. This episode is perfect for anyone looking to hear me share openly on a wide array of life, career, and relationship topics. IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL FIND OUT ABOUT The best self-care tips you can possibly share. If you had to choose your last (ultimate) meal, what would it be?? I would love to know your Top 3 Tips for new podcasters that you wish you would have known when you started!! Do you have any tips for sharing/creating values based intentions with a significant other who is resistant to the idea? What routines do you find crucial to live a balanced life? What are your favorite gluten and dairy free meals? What internal doubts or resistance do you currently face? What podcasts do you listen to? How you created your wardrobe as I know you’ve talked about owning less and capsule wardrobes before! Can you talk more about the gluten free diet? I did that this autumn myself, and felt SO much better. And are you afraid of “becoming intolerant”? You have moved around in the last few years – do you have any advice on making meaningful friendships in a new community? On another note: Have you ever stopped investing in friendships that were not supporting your Values? If so, how did you approach the process? How did your friends and family react to your choice to develop lifestyle and values based businesses rather than working the traditional 9-5?? I wonder how you’ve dealt with fear (if there was any) surrounding your divorce. Fear of not finding someone who meets your expectations, fear of loneliness, fear of the reactions from friends/family, financial fears of being a single homeowner now, etc. Your episode on conscious uncoupling was so brave and true. I’m also wondering what, if anything, gave you that final push to make the decision? What made you feel that it was the right decision for your future? How do you find it in yourself to be and remain so open and honest about yourself to your audience? I’d like to know your routine: from taking care of yourself, to taking care of the house (i.e. cleaning, etc.), or anything else that you do to maintain your life (i.e. anything BESIDES work). What is your plan for dealing with the loss of income a spouse adds to a household? How are you using the value based intention approach to make those hard decisions/cuts? About this time last year you hit a bit of a wall and took a short break from the podcast. I am curious what is different now. What is more balanced, smoother, or easier? Because it does seem as though things have been better for you since then – calmer maybe – and yet you are still working hard. You have been self-employed your entire career. What did you

TLS #108 with Katherine Woodward Thomas: Consciously Completing a Relationship
This episode is very near and dear to my heart and I have been looking forward to sharing this with you, my dear friends, for a while now. For many reasons which are explained in this episode, I have asked bestselling author, Katherine Woodward Thomas, on the show to share her new book, Conscious Uncoupling, which lays out her five step process to consciously uncoupling and living happily even after. I have used Katherine’s process personally over the past few months, and it has transformed a potentially negative or destructive process into one of peace, joy, and love. Now, I’d like to share her approach with you. This episode is perfect for anyone who wants to learn about a five step process to help lovingly complete a relationship wholeheartedly, or for anyone who wants to learn about a meaningful new chapter in my own life. IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL FIND OUT ABOUT Katherine tells us how her life was defined by growing up with her parent’s divorce and how that evolved today as an author and psychotherapist. She tells us the story of how she set intentions for her life and the beginnings of her inner journey of self reflection. Katherine shows us how she used her own personal experience in creating her seven steps to help people with their relationships. She tells us about her uncoupling with her husband and the positive outcome it had on her life as well as her family’s lives. She describes that finding emotional freedom moves us from the difficult and emotional issues of a breakup to a more positive outcome. Katherine explains that you need to shift your perspective and begin taking personal responsibility for your part in the relationship and thus reclaim your power and your life. She talks about her ”source-fracture story” theory and how it’s been the underlying cause of disappointing patterns in love which can help heal your heart. Katherine says that couples need to see themselves as capable of generating a positive future themselves and everyone impacted by the breakup.. Katherine finishes with her fifth step which is to create your happily even after life by making wise and life-affirming decisions as they reinvent their life. She tells us how “affect labeling” can help us control feelings and emotions. Katherine describes how uncoupling can leave you better equipped to love with a bigger, more trusting heart.
