141. 3 Ways To Get Out Of Your Head
GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD! It’s not helping you, if anything it’s holding you back from excelling forward. Replaying the job interview over and over that you didn’t get, questioning why you got ghosted from that person you were attracted to, wondering if this “idea” is actually going to work. Do you want to learn how to get out of your own head? Do you want to be able to brush off any unwanted thoughts with ease? If so - excellent, you’ve found the right podcast because that’s EXACTLY what I’m going to help you do right now. Fire up the popcorn, sit back & relax & let’s dive in! 3 ways that I have found to be successful in getting out of our own head : (1) Tell Yourself The Opposite : Anytime you’re telling yourself a negative narrative in your mind, stop & instead tell yourself the complete opposite. Forcing yourself to think positive will allow you to get out of your own head. (2) Detach Yourself From The Thoughts That Arise In Your Mind : On any given day, humans have 6,000 thoughts that rise in their mind. If we’re able to see them from a neutral standpoint & not let them pull us down, we’re going to continue moving throughout our day & lives with ease. (3) Find Ways To Clear Your Mind Daily : There is no right or way to do it, no techniques are a “one size fits all” that works for everyone so we must test & find what works best for us. Once we’ve found it, we need to stick to it. Challenge for the listeners Spend 10 mins within the next 24hrs and write down a list of things that have been on your mind lately. There is no limit. Put the phone on a 10min timer and keep writing until it goes off. After you’ve taken the time to make a list, analyze what you’ve written and try to use the first two tactics we talked about today : tell yourself the opposite of what you wrote & detach yourself from the thought. Lastly, find daily techniques that allow you to flush your brain as often as needed. Got a topic / question you want me to cover? You should be traveling to cities that interest you and here’s why. The world is full of unique people and lifestyles and the only way to truly get a taste of it is by throwing yourself into the environment. This doesn’t have to be some bouje trip where you’re staying at 5 star hotels, hitting the clubs & eating at the top restaurants in the city. It can be something you make work with whatever money you’ve got. All you need to do is follow your interests within the city. In today’s podcast I hope to give you all the green light to go visit that city you’ve been dying to travel to. You never know how the trip could impact your life & your perspective and the only way to find out is by going for it. Ignore exterior opinions, don’t worry about not knowing where you’re going or what you’re even doing just get moving. Today we’re going to equip you with the mental framework that will allow you to go full speed ahead. 4 Reminders For Getting Started Today (1) Starting Is The Momentum You Need : Remind yourself that starting IS the momentum you need. Once you begin, slowly with time you will build up speed so long as you stay consistent. (2) Build The Plan As You Go : Think about where you want to go and how you would like things to play out but don’t expect to have the perfect blueprint written ahead of time. Get going and write the plan as you go. (3) Start In Order To Someday Become Great : Start in order to someday become great because that’s the only way we’ll ever get to where we want to be. Don’t fall for the comparison trop, let others success inspire you for what IS possible. (4) We Over Estimate What We Can Do In A Day : Do not over estimate what you can do in a day. The beauty of Day 1 is there is nothing but room to grow. Think big picture but focus on small incremental steps. Got a topic / question you want me to cover?
