#120 - S4E30 - Confidence comes when you embrace who you are

Send us a textStraight from Janel herself... "What's the first thing you notice when you look in the mirror? In my adult years, my answer is the gleam in my eyes reaffirming I'm ready to commit to the daily effort needed accomplish my goals. Unfortunately, that wasn’t always the case. Being Afro- Latina, it didn’t take long to realize I was a minority. During my early years, I became self-conscious about my hair. My curls would spring back into shape moments after being straightened. Curly hair, my one insecurity, was the first thing I saw in the mirror, until I realized my curls are God-given and contribute to the queen I am today. My primary intentions for writing these curly hair affirmations are to help my curl friends see the queen in themselves when they look in the mirror so they can wear their curls confidently and proudly anywhere and everywhere.”You can get a copy of Janel's book, Curly Gayle Affirmations, here.
