(Hint: Get on the NO train!)[15:51] Resilience - what it is and why it’s the KEY to lasting weight loss.[23:24] Sarah’s top tips to become more resilient in your own life. Don’t catastrophize. 33. She's Lost 600 Pounds! #minimizememaximizeME
Have a question you want answered on the podcast? Send us a text!Note: Reshape Physical Therapy and Wellness evolved into Weight Loss for Health, and finally Zivli. How to Lose Weight After 50 was our first course that eventually grew into Zivli. Some old blog posts or resources mentioned in this episode may have been removed. You read that right...she’s lost 600 pounds in her lifetime. How, you ask? Pretty much the same way as everyone else...eat less, move more. And guess what? It doesn't work! She gained much of it right back. She has been able to lose 100 pounds though...and counting! Sarah’s on a mission to be on the cover of the Half Their Size Edition of People Magazine. And we’re going to help her get there. Both of us were disappointed in the current narrative surrounding weight...so we're changing it. And we want you to join in the conversation. We want to shine a light on the everyday battles and shame that people who are overweight face. Highlights From This Episode[4:13] “For those people watching, my message to you is, believe in yourself. You have the tools to do this...Stop telling yourself that you aren’t worth and that you can’t do it, because you can. If I can do it, anybody can do it.”[4:58] “I just want to get to a place where my physical stuff isn’t impeding what I want to do….I”m addicted to food...more importantly I think the feeling that food gives me.”[12:56] “It makes me so mad when I see negative messaging around this. You are ENOUGH!...You deserve better. Your body deserves better. And if it takes a year or ten years to do it. It doesn’t matter. The point is that you’re ready…”[18:36] “Because let’s think about the messaging fat people get for a hot second. You aren’t worthy...you aren’t attractive...you don’t deserve love...you don’t deserve good sex...None of those messages are correct. But you have to get to a point where you can appreciate who you are and what you do.”[25:00] “When you’re a fat person in society...everyday people make snap judgements about me because of my weight....definitely in job interviews. Fat people are definitely perceived as lazier, less motivated, less healthy, more likely to be out on health-related illnesses...so I basically have to be 10x more excellent than my competition so I can even have a chance.”[28:15] “I’m 46, realistically let’s say I live another 40 years. How do I want to live those years? Do I want to be in a wheelchair or God-forbid a bed with other people bathing me? Do I want to be what they call a max assist? Or do I want to be able to be 70 and go to Paris. I’m finally smart enough to appreciate things...now I want to get to them.”Subscribe & ReviewSubscribing and leaving a rating and review are important factors in helping the Reshape Your Health Podcast and the YouTube ChanneResources From This Episode >> Insulin Resistance Diet Blueprint - https://www.zivli.com/blueprint?el=podcast >> Free Low Insulin Food Guide - https://www.zivli.com/ultimatefoodguide?el=podcast >> Join the Zivli Program Waitlist - https://www.zivli.com/join?el=podcast >> Test Your Insulin at Home - https://www.zivli.com/testing?el=podcast Have a question?
