InPresence 0077: A Brazilian Spiritist Afterlife Vision
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.
Here he explains that Spiritism was originally founded by a French pedagogue who wrote under the pen name of Allan Kardec. Spiritism took root in Brazil where it combined with African religions brought by slaves. Perhaps the most famous of Brazilian Spiritist mediums was Chico Xavier, who wrote many books presumed to be dictated by spirits of the deceased. One such story has been made into a film called Nosso Lar or The Astral City. Jeff reviews the story and imagery of the film.

InPresence 0076: Kundalini
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.
Here he refers to Lee Sannella’s book, Kundalini: Psychosis or Transcendence. He describes several personal experiences that he attributes to kundalini. These were all relatively mild and benign. The most powerful of these experiences was associated with a spiritual group focused on Kashmir Shaivism. He also notes that kundalini experiences can be unpleasant. On one occasion, his wife was able to remove unpleasant systems by attending a kundalini yoga ashram in Tennessee.

InPresence 0075: Why Astrology Endures
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.
Here he reviews scientific studies related to astrology. Conventional astrology seems to have little empirical support. However, Michel Guaquelin in France has found significant statistical correlations relating to planetary relationships in natal charts. This work was actually replicated by the hostile CSICOP organization. Jeff discusses his relationship with the inventor, cosmologist, and astrologer, Arthur M. Young. He also brings in ideas from sociologist Theodore Roszak.

InPresence 0074: The Fool and The Magician
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.
Here he discusses the significance of the first two cards of the Tarot arcana, the Fool and the Magician, with regard to the sequence of InPresence videos. He likens the card of the fool to entering into a mystical state of “unknowing” that often precedes breakthroughs into realms associated with magic. He suggests that viewers begin to consider their own deepest entelechy or purpose in life.

InPresence 0073: The Wisdom of Nonsense
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.
Here Jeff focuses on a further development by Dr. Raymond Moody concerning the role of nonsense in enabling a greater appreciation for psychic realities, survival after death, and the world beyond the senses. He points out that many things we take for granted as normal and rational actually appear to be quite absurd (and even harmful). He also notes the use of nonsense in surrealistic art and poetry.

InPresence 0072: The Necromanteion and The Psychomanteum
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. Here he describes the work of Raymond Moody, MD, who is considered the father of research into the near-death experience. Subsequently, Moody began exploring an approach to grief counseling based upon the ancient Greek temples where aspirants came to experience communion with the deceased. Moody developed a procedure for this purpose known as the psychomanteum.

Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). He reviews research on ESP with business executives; as well as personality studies related to ESP ability.

InPresence 0068: My Friend, Saul-Paul Sirag: The Early Years
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). He was raised by missionary parents, with a strong fundamentalist Christian background. In WWII, he was interned in a Japanese concentration camp on the island of Borneo — where his father died. In 1973, Jeff and Saul-Paul were both invited to move into the Institute for the Study of Consciousness in Berkeley, founded by the cosmologist, Arthur M. Young.
