InPresence 0067: A Tribute to My Murdered Cousin, D. Scott Rogo
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.
Here he recollects how he met D. Scott Rogo and how the two of them determined that they were probably distant cousins. D. Scott Rogo was known as a historian of parapsychology and also the author of twenty books in the field and many scientific papers. He ventured into areas that parapsychologists often shy away from. He was tragically murdered in 1990. Today, the murder remains officially unsolved.

InPresence 0066: Resonance with a Previous Personality
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.
Here he revisits the suggestion that he was the American psychologist and philosopher, William James, in a past-lifetime. While he lacks evidence to support this hypothesis, he admits he finds that the possibility of such a connection stimulates his imagination. In particular, he examines the potential past-life identification with his mentor, Arthur M. Young, and William James’ father, the iconoclastic Henry James, Sr.

InPresence 0065: Dreaming Revisited
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.
Here he follows up on some earlier InPresence segments related to dreaming. He recounts the dream that neuroscientist Julia Mossbridge had in response to a question that he formulated. He explains that he and his wife, Janelle, decided to also endeavor to have dreams in response to each other’s questions. This eventually led to some insights concerning dreams and the afterlife. He encourages viewers to consider forming a dream community.

InPresence 0064: Solitude
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.
Here he relates how, when he was in his early 20s, he became fascinated with the idea of spending a lengthy amount of time in solitary isolation. The inspiration for this was a magical grimoire call The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage. He made a study of accounts of people living alone. Eventually, he spent one week alone on Mount Shasta in northern California. This experience was important for character development.

InPresence 0063: The Attainment of Siddhis
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.
Here he reflects on the cultivation of psychic gifts and spiritual attainments. He points to the example of Nikola Tesla who managed to transmute the annoying siddhi of super-hearing into an amazing gift of creative invention. He notes that siddhis do not always work out for the best. And, he uses an example from his own life to suggest that one can enjoy siddhis without expecting or craving them. He also maintains that character development promotes the attainment of siddhis.

InPresence 0062: Your Karmic Bank Account
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.
Here he initiates a discussion about karma as a follow-up to InPresence 0061: Resist Not Evil. He points out that the principle of karma implies a universe based upon cosmic justice. He also notes that the study of reincarnation cases does not support this view. However, the “past-life review” reported by near-death experiencers is consistent with the notion of karma. He then brings up the concept that acts of kindness toward our enemies is a rapid way to repay karmic debts.

InPresence 0061: Resist Not Evil!
Here he questions whether it is better to seek revenge or to turn the other cheek. He points out that, in resisting evil, we tend to become similar to that which we resist. He also notes that, while it seems as if we are living in relatively peaceful times, we are facing enormous challenges due to global warming, potential mass population migrations, and the rise of authoritarian governments. Are we always able to tell good from evil?

The Future of Initiation with Andy Hilton
Andy Hilton is author of Anthropology and Mysticism in the Making of Initiation. He is also coeditor of the anthology, Perspectives on Commoning. Here he shares his optimistic vision of a world in which universal education is understood to be an initiatory process. He suggests that young people are being drawn into a new vision of spirituality through such media as superhero comics and movies, as well as the Harry Potter series and much science fiction. He emphasizes that initiation is a long-term process of which rituals are only a small part.

InPresence 0060: The Life Force Within You
InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Here he shares a lesson from the training program of Ted Owens, The PK Man, concerning the ability of the life force to overcome virtually all obstacles.
He points out that, in his own life, the failures far outnumber his many accomplishments. He then pays tribute to Alejandro Jodorowsky, a writer and film director who has been a great inspiration to him. After a hiatus of decades, Jodorowsky (who is now in his late 80s) is making films again.
