The Most Effective Ways To Land Speaking Engagements

Speaking in front of audiences or sharing my message on podcasts is one of the best parts of my job, but I've gone through years of rejection, trial, and error to get to where I am today. I'm sharing insight into how to position yourself and get selected to speak at events, podcasts, and on other platforms. I break down the two main things that get my attention when someone pitches to speak at the Powerhouse Women event or on the podcast, and what to include in your speaker pitch. I also explain how you could be selected to speak at this year's Powerhouse Women event! Two listeners will get chosen, work with me to perfect their speech, and then have five minutes to speak onstage at the event. I dive into exactly what we look for in the video submissions and what goes into our decision making process. In this episode we talk about: How to start creating content consistently on a platform where you're sharing your ideas and you're honing in your message. Why it's so important to use video or audio to showcase your personality and speaking style The most effective ways to create connections and relationships that help you land speaking engagements The 3 S's: Serve, Show up, and Share Subtle language shifts in your pitch that can make a huge difference Details about the speaker contest that we're doing for this year's Powerhouse Women event If you loved today's episode, please share your favorite takeaways or your own systems and processes by screenshotting this episode and tagging us on Instagram! 355. The Myth Of Overnight Success

If you're feeling like no matter what you do, you're not moving towards your goals as quickly as you'd like, there's one question that you need to ask yourself: Who did you have to become in order to create those results? In a world that's obsessed with the idea of 'the overnight success story' (which, spoiler alert, doesn't actually exist), what if you committed to doing whatever it takes for as long as it takes to get the results that you desire? I want you to observe and be in the same rooms as the people that you want to emulate, and start showing up like they do. This mindset shift has been the number one thing that has gotten me to where I am today with Powerhouse Women, and I know it will get you to where you want to be with your big dream, too. In this episode we talk about: What we typically focus on when we're not seeing results Recognizing that there are alot of mistakes, breakdowns, and challenges that happen behind the scenes, even for the most successful people Translating your skills into new areas A sneak peek into the theme of my next book My challenge to all of my listeners (and myself!) 353. THIS Is Your Biggest Opportunity For a Breakthrough

I'm putting it all out there and sharing the ways that my mind sabotages or starts to create shortcuts when I'm up against a challenge. The moment that you want to quit or justify staying in your comfort zone is the greatest opportunity for a breakthrough. The sense of pride and confidence that lives on the other side of doing new and difficult actions is unmatched. So where are you selling yourself short and robbing yourself of that experience? Listen in to hear about my experience with self-sabotage and how I've learned to rewrite that narrative. In this episode we talk about: The first thing that I do when I want a new result in any area of my life Getting real about the excuses that I make for myself in the gym How it feels to push through discomfort and stick with a challenge The hardest part of consistently choosing your new future If you loved today's episode, please share your favorite takeaways or your own systems and processes by screenshotting this episode and tagging us on Instagram! 352. Q&A: How to Prioritize Self-Care, Outsource Tasks & Redefine Your Self-Worth

Hannah and I are back for another Q&A episode, and this one is all about time management and productivity. We answer questions about how to make time for self-care, how to go about outsourcing household tasks, and why it's crucial to define your worth outside of how much you achieve in a day. We also talk about how to approach conversations with your loved ones who don't understand the daily pressures that you might be facing, and why it's so important to get really clear about your expectations and boundaries. Plus, I share a really great tool for calculating your hourly rate and explain how that number can help you narrow down your to-do list! In this episode we talk about: Creating a schedule that allows for a few of your self-care non-negotiables, but also managing your expectations Why our motto is "do less, and do it better" Redefining how you're showing up in other areas of your life outside of your business Shifting your mindset around outsourcing and receiving support Detaching your self-worth from how busy you are If you loved today's episode, please share your favorite takeaways or your own systems and processes by screenshotting this episode and tagging us on Instagram!
