347. How To Boldly Ask For What You Want

I'm sharing a sneak peek into one of our Girl Gang Membership monthly mindset calls! This session was all about how to boldly ask for what you want in business and life. We chat about getting clear on not only what we want, but also the possibilities of what we can have. I share some really great questions from Amanda Frances' book Rich As F*ck that have helped me hone in on what I should be asking more boldly for. We also talk about what stops us from asking in the first place and the fears that are getting in our way. I break down a few examples of how I've been putting this into practice and offer up a challenge for everyone to take action. In this episode we talk about: Getting honest about what you truly want, no matter how big or impossible it seems Input from Girl Gang members about the things that are actively stopping them from asking for what they want Noticing places in your life where you're willing to settle for less Proof that you can get what you want in a kind and polite way Simple steps to start making one bold request every single day If you loved today's episode, please share your favorite takeaways or your own systems and processes by screenshotting this episode and tagging us on Instagram! 345. Confidence Code #5: How To Overcome The Naysayers & Connect With Other People Who "Get" Your Big Vision

In part five of the confidence code series, I'm addressing one of the biggest challenges that I've faced on my confidence journey and I know so many of you can relate: How do you deal with people who don't get your vision, or try to talk you out of your big dreams? The short answer is that not everyone will understand your decisions, but you have to build that trust and belief in yourself to pursue it anyway. Easier said than done, I know. In today's episode, I share how I've built up my confidence and gone all-in on my ideas, despite doubters and naysayers in my life. I explain the importance of your community and how to find people who will not only support you, but also challenge you to think even bigger. I also leave you with a bit of homework to reflect and take action on becoming your most confident self. In this episode we talk about: Why you need to stop seeking external validation from people who don't understand your dream Evaluating who you're sharing your ideas with and protecting it when it's in the early stages Questions to ask yourself to try and see it through a naysayer's perspective How to intentionally seek out and connect with people who get your vision Powerhouse Women resources that can help you build a supportive network If you loved today's episode, please share your favorite takeaways or your own systems and processes by screenshotting this episode and tagging us on Instagram! ( 2:37 ) Lindsey asks listeners, "How many of you can honestly say that the moment you knew you were meant for more, and you had this feeling inside that you just could not shake, you looked around and realize there weren't that many people in your life who you could really unapologetically say that to?" ( 5:20 ) Lindsey says, "The first thing to know is that not everyone will get your vision, not everyone's going to understand it, and they're actually not supposed to." ( 11:08 ) Lindsey says, "I just want you to check in and see if your confidence is a little shaky, because you're waiting for someone else to validate a vision that they can't see. And they're not supposed to, they can only come from within you." ( 11:43 ) Lindsey says, "When your idea is in the earlier stages, it is really important to protect who you are sharing that with. It is easiest to kill a big idea when it's in seed form." ( 16:02 ) Lindsey explains that seeing the vision through a naysayer's perspective allows us to have a more productive conversation, versus just lashing out and feeling hurt. ( 17:44 ) Lindsey says, "Results will always speak the loudest." ( 19:29 ) Lindsey asks listeners, "Where are we expecting validation and support from people who just don't really understand what we need?" ( 22:02 ) Lindsey talks about how to find people who will support and uplift you on your entrepreneurial journey. ( 25:31 ) Lindsey says, "It is up to you to put yourself in places and in environments where you could potentially connect with people like that, and then do the uncomfortable thing of connecting." ( 27:08 ) Lindsey highlights the Girl Gang Membership and Powerhouse Women 2022 event.

343. Confidence Code #4: The #1 Thing That Will Sabotage Your Confidence

Comparison can be the number one thing that sabotages your confidence, but there are ways to actually make it the most impactful catalyst for your growth. By switching your focus to the people you want to serve instead of those that are further along in their journey, it helps reframe the comparative thoughts in a meaningful way. Noticing and admiring someone else's light is actually a reflection of your own potential. We can use comparison to empower ourselves and the people that we look up to. These new thoughts will eventually become beliefs if we practice transforming them in the moment and truly embodying them. Listen in to learn more about the fourth principle in the Confidence Code series! In this episode we talk about: How comparison can chip away at your confidence Tools to create a different relationship with comparison Why we need to stop comparing our blooper reel to someone else's highlight reel Examples of how to consciously reframe comparative thoughts Using comparison as a way to empower yourself and the people around you Why I don't think comparison is always a bad thing If you loved today's episode, please share your favorite takeaways or your own systems and processes by screenshotting this episode and tagging us on Instagram! ( 3:27 ) Lindsey introduces the topic of today's episode, which is all about reframing comparison. ( 7:11 ) Lindsey says, "When I say that I have struggled with comparing myself to other people, I mean it. And so I am here to tell you that you can absolutely reframe this, you can have a different relationship with comparison, because I don't think it's always a bad thing. It's how we interpret it." ( 8:08 ) Lindsey talks about the role that social media plays in how we compare ourselves to others. ( 10:15 ) Lindsey says, "A lot of times I'll compare my chapter 10 to someone else's chapter 50." ( 14:01 ) Lindsey says the first way to reframe comparative thoughts is to evaluate who you're focusing on. ( 16:30 ) Lindsey says, "Am I here to impress people? Or am I here to make an impact?" 341. Confidence Code #3: Where Real Confidence Actually Comes From And How To Tap Into It Daily

In part three on the confidence code series, we're getting to the bottom of where real confidence comes from. Confidence, at its core, is really about building trust with yourself and knowing that you're a person that you can count on. The key to having that power is reframing your relationship with integrity and looking at it through a lens of workability, not just failure and success. Throughout my confidence journey, I've noticed three unintentional ways that I've chipped away at my integrity and disempowered myself. I share strategies for how I've restored my power and examples of what it looks like to gain confidence around the promises that I make. I also give tangible steps for how to start putting this into practice and consistently keep your word. In this episode we talk about: What happens when we make too many open-ended promises that we have no intention of following through on Investigating if you're the type of person who is willing to sacrifice the promises that you make to yourself, but keep your word with other people How to take bold action and aim for big dreams despite your fear The most effective way to see where integrity is lacking and how to course-correct Acknowledging the impact that breaking your promises has on you and your community If you loved today's episode, please share your favorite takeaways or your own systems and processes by screenshotting this episode and tagging us on Instagram! ( 4:49 ) Lindsey talks about the importance of integrity when it comes to building confidence. ( 7:51 ) The number one thing that chips away at integrity is when we give our word to too many things. 339. Confidence Code #2: How To Silence Your Inner Critic

Just because you have a belief about yourself, what you're capable of, and what other people have over you, it doesn't mean that it's true. It's critical to start to evaluate the thoughts that we hold about ourselves and what's possible, instead of just accepting them as fact. Coming to terms with this idea has completely transformed my confidence and helped me turn down the volume on my harsh inner-critic. In part two of the Confidence Code series, I'm sharing three concrete practices that have helped me to rewire my thoughts to be more empowering and in alignment with my dreams. I talk about breaking the cycle of my insecurities, how beliefs get formed, and the changes that I've noticed in myself since embarking on this thought work journey. In this episode we talk about: Noticing the emotions in your body when your negative voice chimes in Learning more about how the brain works Filling your mind with thoughts and reminders of the new beliefs that you want to cultivate What my negative inner dialogue sounds like when it pops up Resources that have helped me on my confidence journey If you loved today's episode, please share your favorite takeaways or your own systems and processes by screenshotting this episode and tagging us on Instagram!
