Mack Newton's 6 Keys to Happiness

In this episode, I share some words of wisdom from my mentor and good friend, Mack Newton. An impactful lesson that Mack shared with me and has stuck with me for a long time is the keys to finding happiness. There are six lessons that Mack shared with me from dealing with self-pity to living in the present. If you are seeking happiness in your life, I encourage you to honor these six things. Today's challenge: Out of the 6 lessons shared, are you violating any of those areas right now? How can you change your approach to honoring them? Are any of these lessons missing in your life right now that you can implement? -- Subscribe to our daily texts! Accountability & The Hawthorne Effect

In this episode, I break down why successful people are the most accountable individuals. Simply, they crave accountability, others depending on them to succeed, and they want to be held to a standard. With the #nodaysoff movement, and striving to get better every single day, you have to have some degree of accountability.\ I recently learned about The Hawthorne Effect. This refers to individuals who modify their behavior or performance when they are being observed or are receiving special attention; individuals have a higher sense of motivation or increased effort when they are being watched and expected to perform at a high level. Today's challenge: Where are you missing accountability? What can you put in place today to increase your accountability? Who can hold you accountable? Think about this in business, life, relationships, wealth, etc. Subscribe to our daily texts! Finding Opportunities in Moments of Crisis

In today's episode, I break down how to find opportunities in moments of crisis and share two stories. I share a story about how Johnson & Johnson experienced a crisis in their business that led to nationwide panic and how they took swift action to rectify the situation, and how by doing so, they regained trust among consumers and the public and strengthened their brand and reputation. A friend of mine told me that she had a health crisis occur that changed everything. She told me that after discovering this health challenge, she realized that she really has #nodaysoff from working towards better health. Through this health crisis came the opportunity to have a deeper appreciation for the time and a newfound gratitude for just being alive. She was more grateful for and purposeful around spending time with her loved ones. While no one wants to go through a crisis, know that with crisis, and over time, comes a tremendous amount of opportunity for us to become better and stronger. Today's challenge: What scenario have you gone through that you can look back on and draw lessons from? What opportunities were created out of this? Can you double down on those opportunities? If you have not yet come face to face with a crisis, how can you prepare? Can you study those that have experienced crisis and how they handled the opportunities that came with it? Thinking Time

In this episode, I am sharing how the concept of thinking time has been one of the most impactful habits that I have implemented in both my life and business. Thinking time is the concept of creating time and space for you to isolate yourself and spend time asking a number of powerful questions to help you solve problems at a much deeper level. Establishing thinking time in your routine allows you to check the validity of all the assumptions you make on a regular basis. This dedicated time allows you to slow down and focus, and get to the root cause of problems. Here are some questions I challenge you to think around: 1) What do I need to practice to improve my game and deserve the success that I desire? 2) What shortcuts am I attempting to take right now by being lazy or impatient, or from procrastination? 3) What would my life look like if every customer I've ever had was a repeat customer? What do I need to do to keep all of these customers? 4) If I were fired and a new leader came into my business today, what decision or change would he or she immediately make? Today's challenge: Set aside some thinking time this week to contemplate these questions, or come up with a list of your own questions. Additionally, think about what questions you could ask yourself that help you in your personal world. Book mentioned: The Road Less Stupid Subscribe to our daily texts! Real Goals vs Stated Goals

Brian breaks down the stated goals and real goals, and why understanding the difference between the two is crucial to achieving the goals you set out. Stated goals are things we think we should be saying; the goal we think we need or the goal we say we want. These goals could be based on the environment we are in or influenced by our peer groups. A real goal is the level of action we are actually willing to take to achieve something. Brian shares why understanding the difference between stated vs real goals is important for individuals in leadership positions and how you can either help or hinder others in achieving their goals. Lastly, there are two things that drive a real goal: the 'why' - why do you want to achieve this goal - and the 'how' - how will you get there? Today's challenge: Where have you set goals in your world? Are these goals that you 'think' you should be setting based on your environment or current peer group (stated goals)? Or are these real goals? Subscribe to our daily texts! Follow us on Facebook for more daily tips on how to improve your business and your life. ---------- Part of the Win Make Give Podcast Network
