011 | Eli Snyder - Traveling to the Most “Dangerous” Countries in the World
Hi friends. Today I sit down with Eli Snyder, a man from my home town in Kansas who has made it his mission to visit every country in the world. What stands out most isn’t the number of countries he’s visited (+100), it’s how he’s doing it. Eli has chosen the road less traveled, immersing himself in places most western travelers wouldn’t dare to go, and doing it with humility, curiosity, and a real respect for the people & cultures he encountered along the way.Whether he’s hiking through northern Afghanistan or leading a small group through the mountains of Albania, the work is the same.. To live & learn as a local. In this episode, we talk about how Eli made the leap from corporate life to full-time exploration, what he’s learned through solitude and discomfort, and why he believes meaning lives in the places most people overlook. We get into some of his favorite (& scariest) stories from the road, the responsibility of documenting cultures that aren’t your own, how his group expeditions came to life, and a few of his go-to travel hacks. We’re not in Kansas anymore (:Big Love, Luke-ExtrasFollow Eli on Instagram-Get in Touch with LukeInstagram:https://www.instagram.com/lukehaverty/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@LukeHavertyContact: asupperseries.com

009 | Flynn Skidmore, Therapist - Tools To Live A Better Life
Hi friends. Today I sit down with Flynn Skidmore — a licensed therapist and someone many consider to be one of the most impactful practitioners of our generation. He’s built a platform by naming the patterns most of us tend to avoid, myself included. But behind the reach and sharp delivery is someone who’s spent real time turning inward and doing the work for himself.Flynn hasn’t bypassed the harder parts of his journey. He’s met them head-on. He’s done the work to understand his own pain, his patterns, and the stories he used to believe. And instead of hiding those parts, he’s used them as a compass — a way to deepen his own awareness and hold space for others to do the same.In this episode, we explore how love and curiosity deepen growth and relationships, what somatic therapy has taught him about healing through the body, and how attachment styles show up in relationships. We also talk about the role AI might play in the future of therapy — a topic I think will only become more important over time. There’s a groundedness in the way Flynn shares that makes complex inner work feel accessible. Not simple, but possible. This one cracked something open for me. Hope it does the same for you.Onwards & upwards.Luke-ExtrasFollow Flynn Skidmore on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/flynnskidmore/-Get in Touch with LukeInstagram:https://www.instagram.com/lukehaverty/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@LukeHavertyContact: asupperseries.com

007 | Maja Dlugolecki, Painter & Founder of Lobster Club - Channeling Emotion Into An Art Empire
Hi friends. Today we sit down with Maja Dlugolecki. A Polish-American painter, curator, and the founder of Lobster Club, a gallery and rotating residency program that blends art, music and food around the world.Maja started painting after a breakup. It was just a way to move through what she was feeling, but over time, it became a daily practice. Her style is abstract and intuitive, with layered textures and colors shaped by whatever she’s carrying. Instead of journaling, she paints, and each piece gets a title tied to a memory or moment from that time.As the Founder & Director of Lobster Club, Maja has created spaces that feel more like living, breathing experiences than traditional galleries. The goal is simple: give artists autonomy, and let community and creativity lead.In this episode, we talk about how Maja learned to channel emotion into her work, how she made the leap from a career in design to building a life around her art, and how you might begin to tap into your own creative process. I’ve learned a lot from Maja, this one hit deep. Friends.. In this episode of Off the Top, I discuss the last weeks:Learnings: A raw, humbling look into starting from zero.. with a smile; the ‘Seasons of Life’ and the loneliness that can come when turning inward; treating success as inevitable and the freedom that comes as a resultChallenges: Balancing delusion and realism (e.g. walking through the fog of uncertainty); Shiny-object syndrome vs. mastering one craftWins: Feedback feels different when you’re chasing something aligned; First glimpse of Luke's dream (:Stats: Shoutout to the 13 YT subs.. small circle, biiiig loveEyes on: @CloCircle - philosophy club with a tip top newsletter, hosting intimate events globallyExtra Credit: The hero’s journey.. if you were the main character in your own movie, what would the audience be screaming at you to do next?ExtrasWatch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@LukeHavertySign up for the Newsletter

005 | Amber Lyon, Author & Founder of Modern Mind — Building & Awakening Your Inner Power
Hi Friends. Today we sit down with Amber Lyon — author of You Are a Magnet and founder of Modern Mind.Amber started her career in the modeling world, chasing what so many of us are taught to value — beauty, status, & being seen. But it left her feeling disconnected and unsure of who she really was beneath the surface. So she walked away and in the process, started doing the kind of work that actually awakened her inner power. That journey led to Modern Mind: a platform designed to bring people back into alignment with who they actually are. Through her book, her writing, and her coaching, she’s helped thousands of women move out of burnout and into a life that feels grounded, clear and self-led. And men, for what it’s worth, including myself (:In this episode, we unpack the core themes behind You Are a Magnet, the journey that led her to start Modern Mind, and what it looks like to lead with authenticity. Amber is one of my favorite thinkers, not just for what she teaches, but for how she lives it.Onwards & upwards,Luke-Follow Modern Mind on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/modernmind___/?hl=enModern Mind: https://www.modernmind.earth/ Buy You Are A Magnet: https://www.modernmind.earth/pre-order-you-are-a-magnet-amber-lyon -Get in Touch with LukeInstagram:https://www.instagram.com/lukehaverty/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@LukeHavertyContact: asupperseries.com

004 | Lessons from a 10 Day Silent Meditation Retreat [OTT]
In this Off The Top episode, I sit down with a best friend to discuss my experience with Vipassana, a 10 day silent meditation retreat I went on last month. I have no other word to describe it beyond profound, yet, equally the most challenging mental battle I’ve ever faced. There was no talking, no eye contact, no reading, no writing, no stimulation.. Just 10-11 hours of meditation a day.Everyone’s experience with Vipassana is different, and it’s not something to take lightly. This episode is simply my perspective. A reflection on the breakthroughs, the spirals, and everything that surfaced in the silence and stillness. If you’re considering it, do your own research, take your time, and see if it feels right for where you are. I’ll leave you with a quote from Goenkaji himself, “No one can harm us more than our own wild mind; and no one can help us more than our own trained, tamed, disciplined mind”. Things that might be helpful in your discovery:Dhamma.org: more information on Vipassana & how to sign up for coursesTim Ferriss on Vipassana: Tim shares his experience and the breakdown he had. I listened to this after returning and it helped me process my own but he speaks to the weight of what this can be.I wrote about my experience in detail hereJack Kornfield: A teacher of Vipassana and someone that has helped thousands on their journeyExtrasWatch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@LukeHavertySign up for the Newsletter

003 | Sam Bencheghib, Founder of Sungai Watch & Sungai Design — The Man Saving Our Planet
Today we sit down with Sam Bencheghib, co-founder of Sungai Watch and Sungai Design. Over the past five years, Sam has been on a mission to tackle plastic pollution, collecting more than 7 million pounds of trash from rivers and oceans across Indonesia. What started as a family project grew into a full-time effort, and eventually, a second company: Sungai Design, where they turn that same plastic waste into beautiful pieces of furniture. In this episode, we talk about the early days, what it took to build two impact-driven businesses from the ground up, and a few wild chapters along the way.. including the time Sam ran across America in plastic shoes to raise awareness and somehow ended up winning a free apartment in NYC. One of my personal favorite parts of this story is how Sam leads. If you visit the Sungai Watch website, you won’t just see the founders or a leadership team. You’ll see dozens of portraits of the people doing the work. Every employee is celebrated. That tells you everything you need to know about the culture and what they’ve built, it feels like a family and there’s actually some ironic truth to that.. Very grateful people like Sam are on this earth. It was an inspiring one.
