Lindsey Heiserman, business and life coach, personal trainer, and adventure racer: “I like to live one adventure at a time.” | ep. 30
Lindsey Heiserman probably wears more hats than anyone you know. She’s a speaker, business and life coach, personal trainer, and accomplished adventure racer. For the last 15-plus years, her work has been a blend of movement and mindset. She holds a unique combination of education and skills—with an undergraduate degree in exercise science and a graduate degree in counseling and psychotherapy, as well as an additional life coaching certification, she’s uniquely qualified to help her clients navigate challenges both inside and, more importantly, outside of the gym. Although her many roles might sound unrelated, they all spring from the same place—Lindsey’s desire to help people feel better in their bodies, in their businesses, and in their lives. A lifelong athlete, Lindsey has completed over 100 obstacle course races, including multiple 24-hour events. And while she’s always experienced joy with movement, like many of us, her motivation originally stemmed from the desire to lose weight. Lindsey’s clients say she’s “relentlessly positive and unabashedly real. She will challenge the way you think and inspire you to make moves in your life."Connect with LindseyWebsite: lindseyheiserman.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/lindseyheisermancoachingYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/lmh5801Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/LindseyHeiserman/_created/For full episode details CLICK HEREHave a question you'd like me to answer on the podcast?Ask it right hereSign up for my newsletter and get my FREE printable guide, 11 Things You Can Do Right Now to Feel Better About Your BodyWant to know my secrets for getting published in top publications? They’re all in my e-book, 7 Pitches That Sold. Ten Minute Tuesday: What if you trusted that you already had the answers?
In honor of Valentine's Day (can we just call this Valentine's Week???) I'm sharing a solo episode where I talk about how acting on intuition instead of fear led me to Colorado, where I met my husband a couple of weeks after I got here — at a bar, on Valentine's Day. Intuition is a theme that comes up over and over on this podcast and for good reason. It's powerful stuff. It's there and I believe it's ready to illuminate your path. Meghan Wieser, physical therapist and weight lifter: Learning to Listen to Your Body | ep. 27
Meghan is a doctor of physical therapy and works as a physiocoach at Recharge in Ellicott City, Maryland. Recharge is a group fitness environment run by physical therapists (think: rehab and fitness under one roof) where Meghan programs and teaches group classes and treats patients. She also does remote strength programming. Meghan started her gym habit for aesthetic reasons (and to complete a challenge), but stayed for the social aspect and how she feels when she can confidently lift heavy weights. Colleen Cannon, former world champion pro triathlete and Women’s Quest founder: “I ride a wave of wonder." | ep. 26
After falling into triathlon by accident, Colleen went on to become a trailblazer in the sport, winning a world championship in 1984 and national championships in 1988 and 1990. She took first place in more than 100 races throughout her triathlon career in the 80s and 90s. Today, she has a spot in not one, but two sports halls of fame—in Jackson County, Alabama and here in Boulder, Colorado. Since retiring from triathlon, Colleen has poured her energy into Women’s Quest adventure retreats. She founded the organization with a clear vision—to give women outdoor experiences where they can connect with themselves, their bodies, each other, and nature—and in that process, uncover their true hearts’ desires. Through her years as an athlete and an entrepreneur, Colleen has worked closely with international companies including Nike, Adidas, Athleta, Specialized, New Balance, Fila, Saucony, Subaru, Reebok, Smartwool, Hind, Barbara’s Bakery, Odwalla, Pioneer Electronics, and Oakley.Connect with ColleenWebsite: www.womensquest.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/womensquest/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/womensquestadventuresFor full episode details, CLICK HEREHave a question you'd like me to answer on the podcast?Ask it right hereSign up for my newsletter and get a FREE GIFT, 11 Things You Can Do Right Now to Feel Better About Your BodyWant to know my secrets for getting published in top publications? They’re all in my e-book, 7 Pitches That Sold. Nell Rojas: pro runner: “I’m a very strong Latina that doesn’t have to fit the mold.” | ep. 25
Nell Rojas is on fire right now. This month, she signed a shoe deal with Adidas and recently finished the Houston Half Marathon in 9th place (with a PR of 1:09:42).She was born into a Boulder, Colorado running family—I think it’s fair to say her dad, Ric Rojas, is a living legend in the running world. He was one of the first athletes to run for Nike, he won the very first BolderBoulder, and held the world record for the 15K. Now, he’s Nell’s coach—and she is following in his footsteps. Nell walked onto the running program at Northern Arizona University as a freshman, and by her senior year, she’d earned a running scholarship. After college, she became a pro triathlete and dabbled in obstacle course racing before jumping into her first marathon. She signed up to race the California International Marathon, thinking she ought to have a marathon under her belt if she was going to eventually do an Ironman triathlon, which was her plan. But after finishing 7th with a time of 2:31, she realized she had a ton of potential as a runner—and she still hasn’t gotten around to that Ironman.Since then, Nell’s running highlights include winning the BolderBoulder Citizen’s Race (a lifelong dream of hers); winning Grandma's Marathon (in 2:28, a blistering 5:40 pace), and finishing 9th at the 2020 Olympic marathon trials on a hilly course in Atlanta. After a bit of a break due to an injury and the pandemic, she was the first American to cross the line at the 2021 Boston Marathon this fall, where she finished in 6th place overall. And this was immediately after lying in bed for days with a fever, wondering if she’d even be well enough to get to the start line.Connect with NellWebsite: rojasrunning.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/nell_rojas_runningTwitter: https://twitter.com/nellrojasTrigger warning: bulimia For full episode details CLICK HERE💖 Are you ready to heal your relationship with food, exercise, and your body?
