Omar Pryce got involved with Los Angeles gangs when he was young. His mother, originally from Sri Lanka, divorced his Jamaican father and remarried a white man, which made Pryce struggle with his identity. To find acceptance, Pryce turned to groups like the Crips and Bloods gangs. However, this acceptance came at a price. Pryce worked as a mercenary for the gangs, trafficking drugs, ammunition, and more. His criminal activities eventually led him in California's notorious Pelican Bay State Prison as an adult.During his time in prison, Pryce had a transformative experience. He discovered Judaism. He also met his wife while he was in prison. As both the composer and singer of his signature V’zakeini song, Baruch Levine has been said to have literally raised the “bar” of Jewish music. His best-selling albums reflect his diversity of talents as a composer, arranger, and great singer. It is no wonder that it is said about him “Baruch has proven that Jewish Music today can still be meaningful, heartfelt, and yet refreshingly interesting.”   Baruch was raised in Toronto, Canada where he composed his first published song at the young age of 13. Avshi Weingot was your typical American-Israelie boy growing up in the ancient city of Tzfat. His father, a Chaim Berliner and close talmud of Sher Yoshiv's Rav Shlomo Freifeld, started a Yeshiva called Shalom Rav for all kinds of boys. Everyone was invited. Avshi went on his own path and traveled to America until September 11, 2001 when his life drastically changed. Rabbi Tovia Singer is the founder and director of Outreach Judaism, a Jewish counter-missionary organization. It's an international organization that responds directly to the issues raised by missionaries and cults, by exploring Judaism in contradistinction to fundamentalist Christianity.
