This week’s sermon is based on John 6:35-40 with a particular focus on verse 37 where Jesus says, “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.” This message explores three potential barriers that people may have to coming to faith or continuing in their faith in Jesus. Charles is a Pastor at King’s and leads the Beckenham site.

This week’s preach is based on Matthew 11:28-30 where Jesus describes himself, ‘I am gentle and lowly in heart.’ This is the title phrase of the book we are using as background reading: Gentle and Lowly. These qualities are not just emotional they come from the center of Jesus being and describe what motivates him in all he says and does. He is full of grace and love towards his people, but that doesn’t make him weak or compromised, he is full of truth and speaks up for justice too. He calls us today, especially if we are weary and heavy laden, saying come to me, come as you are, take my yoke upon you and learn from me. We are starting a new series called 'Gentle and Lowly' based out of a book with the same title by the American writer Dane Ortlund. Christians generally know what Jesus Christ has done. But who is He? What is He like, deep down? What is His deepest heart for His people, weary and faltering, as we journey towards heaven? Joe Macnamara our Downham site leader.

The early disciples showed incredible resilience and perseverance as they spread the good news of Jesus to Jews and Gentiles. The Antioch Church was a thriving Church in many ways, but one area we must not overlook is the foundational role that prayer (with fasting) and worship played in the life of this community. Moses is one of the pastors at the Downham site.

The Antioch church was the first church in history to wrestle with the joys and challenges of ethnic diversity. Their experience, and the way the apostles responded to it, is hugely helpful for us as we pursue a diversity of grace, not of works. Andrew is our Teaching Pastor here at King's.

The church in Antioch was visibly characterised by gifts of the Holy Spirit. Andrew explains what the Spirit did in Antioch, and why we believe he does the same things today.
