Until now, Nehemiah’s story has had very clear goodies (Israel) and baddies (everyone else). In this chapter, we learn that things are more complicated, and that injustice exists within God’s people as well. Nehemiah fights it in three ways – and they are all ways that can help us fight injustice today. Andrew Wilson is our Teaching Pastor.

“Wherever God’s work is being done, an enemy always arises.” In Nehemiah 4, we look at the reality of spiritual opposition to the work of God and how to respond to it, with application for Christ’s Church today as she rebuilds post-pandemic. Moses Nwanji is one of our Pastors who is based at our Downham site.

The walls of Jerusalem do not get rebuilt by one powerful leader with a dramatic swell of music; they get rebuilt by dozens of unknown people doing little, unglamorous tasks, together. And it is the same in the church.

Steve Tibbert, our Senior Pastor, speaks from Nehemiah 2 in our annual Vision Sunday. He reminds us of the vision God has given us to reach, restore and resource. He looks back at these last 18 months and their impact on us as a church. He then looks forward to the future, echoing Nehemiah's words in chapter 2 verse 17: ‘Come, let us rebuild.’

There are a number of parallels between Nehemiah’s story and ours. Andrew Wilson, our Teaching Pastor, considers some of them as we begin this new series, and shows how Nehemiah responded by weeping for the walls, confessing corruption and praying God’s promises.

Everyone has a story, a story that helps us make sense of the world and the decisions that we make. The Bible challenges us, not only to re-think our story, but also forces us to consider whether to make Jesus’ story our own story. In this message, we see how Jesus changes the life of a Samaritan woman, and her whole town, as they realise that Jesus is the Saviour of the World. Is God joyful, and does he want us to experience joy and happiness in our lives? In this message we look at this important question and consider how we can know joy in Him. Andy Floyd is one of our Pastors who leads the Lee site.

Phil taught out of the story of the two builder in Matthew 7. It’s one of those simple, well known but incredibly profound and important stories. Jesus tells this story having just preached the greatest sermon of all time. The main point is, unless we do something with what Jesus says, in the end nothing will change – they will just be words we hear, and we will build our lives on sand. Phil Varley was our Senior Associate Pastor. He and his wife Sarah left King's in September 2021 to plant a church in Rotterdam.

What is light? And what does it mean that God is light? In this message, we discover that just like light, God is invisible, illuminating and immortal. We also explore the impact this makes to our lives. Charles Kimbangi is one of our Pastors who leads our Beckenham site.

Most trees in the Bible are just there as a backdrop to the story of God revealing Himself to the world. But we are going to look at three trees described in the Bible, which have a greater significance and help us understand God’s wonderful plan of salvation in a dramatic way. We will start in the garden of Eden, stop at the foot of the cross and end in John’s vision of the tree of life in the heavenly city.
