When the people of Israel brought offerings to God, they gave their firstfruits, they gave faithfully, and they gave of their own freewill. Each of these sets a pattern for the church today.

Today is the last of our FIRST series – we will look at witness. Jesus called the disciples not just to follow him but he also he sent them out to be witnesses, fishers of men. Jesus promised we would be empowered by the Holy Spirit to witness so how do we start? Is it about individuals or crowds? Words or loving actions? Should we point out people’s darkness or point to the light? Matthew 4:12-25 helps answer these questions.

In Luke 4, Jesus shows us how central the Word of God is to his life, displaying the Authority of Scripture, the sufficiency of scripture and the coherence of Scripture. With these deep convictions and some practical lessons, we hope and pray that Scripture becomes and remains central in your life.

Each of the four Gospels show us that prayer was utterly central to the life of Jesus. Andrew considers the way Jesus prayed, and what we can learn from it.

What does it look like for us to make God the priority in our life this year? For him to be the centre and the thing we build our life around? As we start our new series we look at the question using the exchanges Jesus has with 3 individuals in Luke 9.

The birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, the “house of bread,” provides a beautiful picture of the whole Christian gospel. Merry Christmas!

The three wise men come in search of the King of the Jews, and in the process we discover that Jesus is also King of the Gentiles, King of the Universe and King of Kings.

We conclude our Undivided series by looking at how we respond to all that Paul has taught us about race, grace and Galatians. His focus in chapter 6 is on what we carry, how we persevere, and where we boast.

As we look at Galatians 5 we are challenged to apply Paul’s words and live differently. He teaches us that the word not the world must define how we tackle race. The spirit not the flesh brings real change and love not the law is the only way forward.

When we look at this passage in Galatians, we see that Paul emphasises the gospel and how it has set the Galatians free from being ‘slaves’ to an old way of living. They need to know that they have been set free by the personal saving work of Christ. It is this freedom that reorientates and renews the way in which they think, speak and act. This passage shows us today that we too have been set free to live in a new way, once we have put our faith in Christ. This means that we have the power of the Holy Spirit in us, empowering us to bring justice into the world in a gospel centred way.
