It's our resident baseball expert Jon Paul Morosi joining John and Dave today for some baseball talk.   The three share their opinions on this year's All Star Weekend in Seattle before we take a look at Shohei Ohtani's future as an Angel. J.P., John and Dave give their reasons as to why or why not they think the Superstar Pitcher will finish this season in Los Angeles.   Before We spend some time on why we think the Orioles are the team to watch out for in the AL East before we dig into the Toronto Blue Jays and what they need to do to be a contender and as always, we let J.P scratch his hockey itch with a brief chat about his Detroit Red Wings.

Dave Hodge is filling in for the Bobcat today so we had to reunite him and John with their old broadcasting buddy, the President of Hockey Operations of the Columbus Blue Jackets - John Davidson.   John, Dave and JD start the show with some stories from their time working in broadcasting as we hear about the long nights spent watching hockey in JD's basement and the fun the three had as co-workers.    We couldn't let John go without talking a little bit about the Blue Jackets so we did just that - The three discuss Columbus' 3rd overall draft pick in Adam Fantilli and touch on the teams new Head Coach Mike Babcock.

When you are a sports podcaster at an event with hundreds of former NHL players ready to tell stories, you've got to get some content right?   Our very own John Shannon set himself up on the 10th hole at Coppinwood Golf Course, managing to score some interviews with some of the top brass within the Players Association like Mathieu Schneider & Glenn Healy as well as some hockey legends like Gary Leeman, Adam Graves and Doug Gilmour.   All in all, not a bad day when you get to talk to a bunch of Stanley Cup Champions and 50 goal scorers.    Disclaimer   Due to this episode being recorded outside during a golf tournament - background voices (Nick Kypreos) may be heard throughout the interviews.

New Episode Monday!   Richard Deitsch filling in for an ailing Bobcat on today's show as we welcome on the President of Hockey Operations in Vegas and one of the newest names to go on the Stanley Cup -  George McPhee.   We get George's first thoughts on what this win means to the City of Las Vegas, the Golden Knights and himself as they prepare for tomorrow's parade.    We take the opportunity to reflect on the season with George and go through the trades, signings, injuries and whatever else that led to the first ever Stanley Cup win in Vegas Golden Knight history

Naturally, when you have two former NHL goaltenders and current NHL broadcasters on the show you talk about hockey… right?    No hockey today we dig into the parallels of comedy in sport with two guys who know a few things about stopping pucks and telling jokes. Scott Darling and Jim Ralph join the show today as we talk about their connection with comedy in their life after sport. We talk to Scott about his transition from the net to the stage as we find out what drove him to try his hand at stand up. We also get Jim’s perspective on the matter as a public speaker and find out why we should never call him a "comedian"

Another two-fer today with Matt Devlin filling in for Bob.   We talk to Brian Lawton first as we get an update on the money being passed around in the National Hockey League before heading over to the NBA with Jack Armstrong and get an idea on what the Toronto Raptors are up to, the Damien Lillard trade request and James Harden's situation in Brooklyn.

Bob's still out which means Matt Devlin is stepping in for the next couple of days as he joins John today for a conversation with an old friend, Adnan Virk.   Adnan can talk... and not just about baseball! In a turn we should have seen coming when you put Devlin and Virk on a podcast together - Matt, John and Adnan share travel nightmares, movie recommendations and stories from the days they worked alongside each other all while sprinkling some baseball talk into the mix.    Diversions aside, the three do manage to fit in some conversation around Shohei Ohtani's future with the Angels, Alek Manoah's pitching problems and some Jays talk before we say goodbye for the day.

We're giving two interviews for the price of one today as we welcome two women making major moves in the world of professional women's sports in Jessica Berman & Diana Matheson.   First, we talk to the Commissioner of the National Women's Soccer League, Jessica Berman. Jessica gives us an idea of the direction she is taking her league in and lets us know what the league's plan is when it comes to fielding top tier talent and their efforts to get more of the games nationally televised before she heads out.   With Jessica gone, we then talk to former Canadian National Team Member Diana Matherson and her plans for "Project 8" - a brand new Professional Women's Soccer League in Canada set to begin in 2025. Diana fills us in on the teams that have committed to the league so far and hints at a few other locations we should expect to see join in the coming months. We find out what level of soccer Diana plans on fielding, the sponsors involved with the program and understand her vision a bit more in our conversation today as we kick off your Canada Day weekend.

Finally... some baseball talk!   Griffin and Hodge checked into the show today to give John and Richard a quick update on what's going on in Major League Baseball, but more specifically the Toronto Blue Jays, their poor management, the dramatic drop-off of Alek Manoah and the team's playoff hopes before shifting focus to Domingo German's historic perfect game just a night ago.    We circle back to the Jays to end the show as we talk about Matt Chapman and the potential of him coming back to the team and the contract issues the Jay's are sure to face in the near future.
