It's the end of an era for two different NHL franchises with the passing of longtime owner of the Chicago Blackhawks & the retirement of a Bruin great in Patrice Bergeron.   For the first half of the show we talk to George Ofman about the ups and the downs of the Rocky Wirtz era in Chicago while we go over the legendary career of a Boston Bruins legend, Patrice Bergeron.

John Gibbons is on the show today and as always, the three bounce from subject to subject in another classic Gabby interview. The three cover the Blue Jays and their quest for the playoffs, Shohei Ohtani’s future as an Angel and pretty much whatever else the former Jays manager wants to talk about today.

With the news of The New York Times closing down their sports department and other publications following suit, we decided to bring in two legends in the print journalism game in Bob Ryan & Ray Ratto to come talk about it.   With Dave Hodge standing in as co-host, the group gets into the nitty gritty when it comes to the evolution of how sports are watched and reported on as we try to decipher what direction sports reporting and writing is going in.   Oh yeah! With The Open Championship nearing we figured it was time to bring back our two golf experts in Ian Leggatt & Richard Zokol to give us a preview of the tournament. John, Dave Hodge, Richard and Ian spend the first half of the show going over the favourites leading up to the weekend.   We then shift focus to the ongoing litigations involving the PGA and LIV Tour and get an idea from Ian and Richard as to what direction the sport of golf is going in.

Building off of our conversation with J.P. earlier this week, John and co-host Richard Deitsch are joined by Scott MacArthur.   The three react to the recent All-Star festivities in Seattle and discuss the significance of the game and the Home Run Derby before shifting over to some more general baseball talk with a focus on the AL East. Before the end of the show, we spend some time on the Toronto Blue Jays and the daunting task they have in front of them as we approach the back end of the season.

You read the title - Mike Babcock is back and he's on the podcast with John and Dave Hodge today.   The three go over the process Mike went through to become the Jacket's newest head coach and get some details on the things Mike has been doing to improve his coaching game over the 3.5 years he's been off.   We talk to Mike about his growth as a person and a coach and get an idea on what he is going to bring to Columbus before talking about his time as a Toronto Maple Leaf.
