Killer Queens: A True Crime Podcast
Killer Queens is a personality-driven true crime show hosted by two millennial besties who bring their research, realness, and 90s nostalgia to every case. Heartfelt, hilarious, and highly researched — it’s true crime you can trust, with hosts you’d trust to watch your kids… or keep your secrets. Whether we’re decoding cold cases or dragging sketchy investigations, we bring empathy, chaos, and a few too many Friends references. We unpack true crime with heart, jokes, legal context, and just the right amount of rage - one case (and one hot take) at a time. For bonus episodes and premium content, find us on Patreon!

264: Alex Murdaugh Trial Recaps Part 2- The Defense and Verdict
Overview of the case in case you don’t know: On the night of June 7, 2021 Alex Murdaugh called 911 to report that he had come home to find his wife and son “shot badly.” His wife Maggie and son Paul were found dead on the family’s sprawling property named “Moselle.” They were found at the property kennels which were about ⅓ mile away from the main house. Both were shot multiple times; Paul was killed with a 12g shotgun and sustained 2 gunshot wounds: to his head and shoulder. This is gruesome but true- his brain was “blown out” of the right side of his head, completely severing his brain from his skull. Maggie was shot with a .300 Blackout AR-style rifle 5 times; through the left wrist, left thigh, her upper abdomen through the lower back, and a downward-trajectory shot to the right back of Maggie’s head. Alex Murdaugh has maintained his innocence since the murders and stood trial in early 2023. This episode recaps the trial and the verdict.

262: The Vigilante Killing of Ken Rex McElroy
On the morning of July 10th, 1981, shots rang out in the small town of Skidmore, Missouri. Outside of the D&G Tavern, the engine of a truck could be heard roaring to life, until it gave out, and eventually the engine blew. In the truck was the body of Ken Rex McElroy, who was known in Skidmore as the “town bully.” Incredibly, with dozens of people surrounding the truck when the shooting took place, there were no witnesses who could identify the shooter, or shooters, besides McElroy’s wife, who was in the truck beside him when he was shot.

261: The Infamous Bonnie and Clyde [FREE Weekly Episode]
From 1932 to 1934, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were perhaps the best-known outlaws in the United States. It was during the Great Depression that Bonnie and Clyde rose to fame for their daring bank heists and Robin Hood-esque crimes. Hollywood glamorized them as a young couple in love, but in their time on the run, they left a trail of death and destruction in their path and are believed to be responsible for the deaths of four civilians and nine police officers. Their story came to an abrupt end at the hands of authorities in May of 1934, when they were only 23 and 25 years old.

In 2016, 21-year-old Jessica Runions also disappeared in a nearby Missouri town. The man she was last seen with? Kara’s ex-boyfriend, Kylr Yust. It wasn’t until one of Yust’s close family members confessed to his involvement that investigators were able to finally start to piece together what had happened to both Kara and Jessica and finally bring justice and closure to them and their families.
