Rhuigi Has Just Got To Be Rhude

Rhuigi is a great story of how hard work and a creative vision can lead you to success, no matter where you started from. His family immigrated from the Philippines when he was just a kid and he immediately started soaking up the culture. Rhuigi was always a hustler and started his career in fashion by buying designer brands at thrift shops and selling them for a much higher price to the kids at his school. From there, he just kept growing. Part of the reason for his success was that he was willing to show up and put in the work. He was just happy to be around designers and would hang out and help with whatever was needed. He wasn’t even getting paid. But what he learned is far more valuable than an hourly salary. He took what he learned and started his own brand Rhude, which blew up after Kendrick Lamar wore one of his shirts. He expanded the line and it’s become a wildly successful streetwear brand. But he’s moved way beyond Rhude. He’s now the creative director for Bally and the Phoenix Coyotes. In addition to having his own line at Zara. We talked all about his new ventures and he had some great advice for the young entrepreneurs out there. Ronnie's story is truly unique. He was raised to focus on his education and then have a successful career in a traditional field. He listened to his parents and graduated from Columbia Law School and then got a job at a prestigious law firm. After a couple of weeks, he quit. He hated it. His family thought he was crazy. But he loved it, and knew he was on the right path, so he stuck with it. He got a job at a minor league baseball team and really learned how to market with no budget. Around that time, he started getting into NBA 2K and became one its best players. He was an active participant in the community and he showed up on the NBA 2K team's radar.  This was 15 years ago, when Twitter was just getting started, and Ronnie saw its potential. So, he asked an executive at 2K if he could create an account on Twitter: Ronnie 2K. That simple email changed everything. How To Find Your Passion In Life - Tezza Barton Shares The Secret To Success

How to Find your Passion in Life - Tezza Barton Shared the Secret to Success.  Tezza Barton is the founder of the Tezza app, a photo editing app with 30,000 5-star reviews in the App Store.  But she never set out to be a tech entrepreneur.  Her story isn’t a straight line to success, so I loved talking with her. Like most successful people, she tried several different things before finding something that hit. Her first passion was music, and she was in bands for years.  She was interested in art and design and went to the Parsons School Of Design. She started photography and fell in love with it. She made a living from it, went Instagram came out and went all in. She was all about providing value for her followers.   The kids in art school thought it was stupid and a waste of time. But she continued and ignored her haters because she knew she was on to something.  She provided tips, tricks, and inspiration to her followers who were into photography. After a while, her followers told her they needed a simple app to edit photos and give them the effects she used.  So, she worked with her husband on it for over a year before it dropped. It was an immediate hit! We discussed founding a company, women in business, tech, startups, music, and so much more.
