Today he represents some of the world's biggest celebrities in sports and entertainment, including: Dennis Rodman, Pamela Anderson, Hulk Hogan, Magic Johnson, and even Muhammad Ali before his passing. But Darren's story is anything but pretty. After dealing with an opioid addiction for 24 years, he hit rock bottom despite being at the height of his career. In this episode, we discuss: -How Darren managed to hold his empire together despite dealing with one of the hardest drug addictions -An entertaining story of how him and Dennis Rodman met (at a strip club) -How he made superstar connections and what it truly takes to become a superconnector -Practical strategies learned on how to stay in great relations over time with important people you meet -and more! 19. Dealing With People Who Underestimate You|Mandy Rose

You probably know what it feels like to be underestimated. Perhaps it's because of the way you look, what school you went to, or even how much money you make. Whatever the reason may be, it's not nearly as important as how you deal with it. Amanda (Mandy Rose) is no stranger to being underestimated by others. As one of the main faces of the WWE, she plays a flirty blonde character who every guy falls for. She's even got the nickname 'God's Greatest Creation' which is often recalled whenever someone mentions her name in the WWE. However, behind the scenes in our conversation, Amanda shows a different side to her. To get to who she is today, Amanda shares the insecurities she had to overcome, how she learned to love her body, the immense amount of work it takes to stay in mental and physical shape, and much more. I appreciate how candid she was throughout this conversation, and I'm honored to share a different side to Mandy Rose that you don't get to see on the big screens. Hope you enjoy this conversation. 18. Dating Men vs. Women|Anna Akana

Last year, I opened up on Growth Minds talking about losing my Aunt to suicide when I was 15. A friend linked me to a YouTube video from Anna Akana, who lost her little sister to suicide when she was 17. Coincidentally, both were from the same city in Japan. And both were gone too soon.  The unfortunate reality is that seeking mental help is far too stigmatized in our society. Asian-Americans are 3x less likely to seek help than other Americans, and you can see why after hearing Anna’s personal experience. With the surprising event that unfolded this week, Anna’s story is another reminder to us all that life is fragile, and we can lose the ones we love at any point. But this isn’t an entirely sad story. While Anna shares that she didn’t laugh for years after her sister died, you’ll hear plenty of laughs in our ‘off-the-rails’ conversation. From dating as a bisexual, relationship tips, dealing with your depression to rediscovering your self-identity when you feel lost - we go through it all. This was a fun one. Hope you enjoy. 17. Co-Founder of Netflix|Marc Randolph

He changed the way we watch TV forever, and today Netflix is worth nearly $150 billion dollars (at the time of this writing). I got the opportunity to dig deeper into the origins of Netflix's story, like how it could've been a personalized shampoo business, nearly selling to Amazon.com for $15 million in 1998, and more. What most people don't know was that Netflix was Marc's 6th company. As a seasoned entrepreneur, he shared invaluable insights on how to accelerate your career, validating your business cheaply, what he's learned from working with current CEO of Netflix, Reed Hastings, and more. Grateful to have shared this conversation and lessons Marc has learned in his 40 years of being a seasoned entrepreneur. ps - fun fact: while we did not discuss this in the interview fun fact, we later found out that Sigmund Freud was Marc's great-grand-uncle. 16. The Youngest Person to Travel to Every Country|Lexie Alford

At 21 years old, Lexie Alford is the youngest person to travel to every country in the world, and she's got the Guiness World Record to prove it. I had the pleasure of sitting down with her shortly after she received her official certificate (we get into how the process works).  We talked about the origins of her travel story, some of the craziest (and dangerous) experiences she's been through, and the insightful travel hacks that took her many years to learn. I appreciated how open Lexie was about discussing the 'unsexy' parts of travel, like the loneliness she felt, feeling like she was undateable given her hectic travel schedule, and what her relationship with travel is today after traveling to every country in the world. Grateful to have had her on and to share this knowledge with you all. 15. How to Overcome Your Fears|Sugar Ray Leonard

Sugar Ray Leonard, one of the greatest sports icons alive, joins us on Growth Minds today.  To be honest, I didn't know quite what to expect in this interview because my boxing knowledge is comparable to cooking skills - minimal at best. The good news for me and you, Ray shared valuable insights and stories that apply to every aspect of our lives. I learned a lot myself about what it takes to overcome fear and anxiety, the importance asking for help, when your back is against the wall, and most importantly, what it takes to be an exceptional human being. He also shares fascinating stories on his meeting with Nelson Mandela, the close relationship he had with Muhammad Ali and what he learned from him, how he fought through his internal doubts and struggles at the top of his career, and much more. What surprised me about Ray was how open he was about his life - from his drug addiction, being sexually molested as a child, and the doubts he had throughout his career. Very appreciative of him for being so genuine with his presence. I hope you enjoy this conversation with Sugar Ray Leonard and I. As always, please subscribe, share, and leave a review!
