Driven by Purpose with Kyra Mitchell-Lewis

My special guest today is Kyra Mitchell Lewis, who started Glow Up, Gyrl, an online membership community for women who are looking for balance and purpose in their lives, and Glow Getter University, with tracks for personal evolution and entrepreneurship.  There’s a link to a free account if you scroll down in the show notes. If you have been listening to The Driven Woman Podcast for a while, you have heard me say that any woman can be an entrepreneur if she really wants to, and Kyra possesses many of the traits I believe entrepreneurs must have in order to be successful in the crazy world of online business.  As you listen to this interview, you will readily see that her mindset is her biggest asset.  Nothing is going to stop her, discourage her or slow her roll.  She is probably one of the most positive, optimistic, and resilient women I have met since starting this podcast. We did two back-to-back recordings, for The Driven Woman and Kyra’s podcast, Glow Up, Gyrl, and had several tech challenges that interrupted the recording experience.  Instead of getting frustrated or angry, each time we had to stop and start over, Kyra just laughed and picked right back up again.  Key takeaways: Why Kyra started Glow Up, Gyrl & who she servesThe difference between Kyra and her husband as entrepreneurs How she leads from an attitude of gratitude When I connect with another female entrepreneur who is as driven, hardworking, and generous as Kyra Mitchell Lewis, I am eager to partner with her again, which is why I said YES to Kyra’s invitation to speak at her online summit on Thursday, October 28th. Whether you are an entrepreneur or just want to evolve to the next version of yourself,  this summit is a must. The price point is very accessible,  and the lineup of speakers includes confidence, mindset, success, and business coaches, including me!  Here is the link to register: https://www.glowupgyrl.com/you-volutionWould learning and growing in a small supportive group of like-minded women be the perfect way to finish 2021? Radical Self Acceptance - A Client Success Story: Meet Tanya

One of my favorite things about Client Success Story episodes is that I get to share some of my favorite people with you.  Today we are joined by my coaching client, Tanya, a project manager, wife, and mom who had already burned out once and was on the fast track to a second round.  When she first decided to work with me, after hearing me being interviewed on a podcast, Tanya was feeling overwhelmed, defeated, and had lost confidence in her ability to manage her responsibilities at work and at home.  Tanya made some really significant changes during our work together, including:Learned to say no, set limits and boundariesEmbraced radical self-acceptance, and let go of apology, guilt & shamePrioritized self-care & work/family balance More respect from both family & peersEliminated her need for anxiety medication She now refers to herself as Tanya 2.0! Mentioned during this interview:The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks, Ph.D. (book) Inside Out by Disney (movie) Trello (my project management system)Eisenhower Matrix  (one of the productivity tools I use and recommend) Do you want your own copy of the Powerful Questions that Tanya and I talked about being such a game changer?  Click here to download:  Powerful Questions worksheet Connect with Diann Online: The Driven Woman Facebook Group:https://www.facebook.com/groups/thedrivenwoman/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachdiannwingert/ Are you ready to take things to the next level and work with Diann? Identify Your Zone of Genius: Uncover Your Unique Skills and Strengths

Many of my clients hire me because they have plateaued in their business and don’t know how to move to the next level.  If I was a typical business coach, I would fire up a spreadsheet,  start talking about business models, paid advertising and scaling their offer.  But, I have learned from my own entrepreneurial journey that until you truly understand your Zone of Genius,  you won’t find more satisfaction at the next level, in fact, you’re probably going to experience further disillusionment and maybe even burnout.Discovering our upper limit issues has helped so many female entrepreneurs make sense of their perfectionism, imposter complex and self sabotage, and why no matter how hard they work, they just can’t seem to break through a certain income ceiling, or pattern of overdelivering and under-earning.   Everyone has these upper limits and the really good news is that once you see them for what they are and understand that they are learned, you stop shaming and blaming yourself and can start focusing on spending more time in your Zone of Genius.   This is where the real magic happens and we can continue to evolve in an upward spiral of success, happiness and well being.  In this solo episode, the last in the 3 episode series on the topic, I take you through the same questions I use with my coaching clients to help them discover their Zone of Genius.  Let’s connect on Instagram: Instagram: https://bit.ly/DWC-InstagramReady to Work with Me?Is it time to uplevel your business and life?  My group coaching program is starting again this fall and there are groups for both new and experienced entrepreneurs. The first step is to get on the waitlist! Click here to be notified of all the details: https://bit.ly/work-with-diann A word of thanks This mini-series on upper limit issues and the zone of genius would not be possible without the groundbreaking book,  The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks, PhD.  which has been instrumental in both my own transformation and the work I do as a business mindset coach for female entrepreneurs. The questions I mentioned in this episode are: When do you feel most alive and energized? What are you doing? What are you thinking? What are you feeling? How are you doing this thing? When are the “fist pump moments” where you feel at your finest?  When you join a work (or social group) what did you bring to the table (or the party) that wasn’t there before? So, that’s all for now, Driven Woman!  See you next week, when my guest Vanessa Zamy joins us to talk about the side hustle start to entrepreneurship!

Six Habits that will Change Your Life with Laura DiBennedetto

Nearly everyone declares happiness as a life goal, and takes whatever actions they think will lead to a happy outcome.  We buy things, start relationships, go places and seek out experiences because of how we think they will make us feel, hopefully happy.  This pursuit of happiness can turn out well, but it’s just as likely to lead to a mountain of debt and massive disappointment.  Until we realize that happiness is not something we could earn, acquire or attract, the search for happiness can continue for years, if not decades. Today’s guest, Laura DiBenedetto, was a shooting star - an entrepreneur at 19, retired at 37, having overcome a backstory of bullying, burnout, bankruptcy.  Laura is an example of so many women I have met who are fueled both by their own innate drive, but also by the effects of trauma.  More often than not,  the harder they strive for happiness, the more it evades them, even if the world sees them as highly accomplished and successful. Laura is now the bestselling author of the book, The Six Habits, a Happiness Coach, TedX speaker.  Like me, she has learned many of life’s lessons the hard way and now helps others get to their happy ending with a lot less stress.  If you are an entrepreneur who is driven to overcome a difficult past,  you are going to want to lean in and listen closely.  I found Laura’s journey to be an inspiring one and I am happy to share her with you today. Want to know more about today’s guest, Laura DiBennedetto?Website: https://lauradibenedetto.com/TedX Talk: https://lauradibenedetto.com/tedx-talk/Book: https://www.thesixhabits.com/Course: https://www.thesixhabits.com/90-day-habit-masteryConnect with Diann Online: The Driven Woman Facebook Group:https://www.facebook.com/groups/thedrivenwoman/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachdiannwingert/ Are you ready to take things to the next level and work With Diann? Are you ready to invest in making 2021 the year you get back into momentum & move the needle?  Click here to schedule a free 30-minute consultation with Diann to see if her signature 12-week private coaching program is right for you.  https://calendly.com/diannwingert/free-consultationDon’t forget to leave a review of The Driven Woman Podcast, so I can read it on a future episode!    Apple: https://apple.co/2BZDFzcAndroid: https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/the-driven-woman-1194485Want to help me know exactly what content to feature?Click here to take this poll  “What’s Holding You Back?”  I’m working on a brand new series on mindset blocks.  Tell me yours so I can create the perfect episodes for you! https://www.tryinteract.com/share/poll/5f9d78cb138d6c0014b069a1/

Breaking Through Your Upper Limits

This week we are going to continue with the theme of upper limit issues, which refers to the unconscious habits we have that keep us from experiencing all the health, happiness, and success we are consciously striving for.  Two weeks ago, we talked about how to identify these upper limit issues- what they are, what purpose they serve and how they got into our unconscious minds to begin with.  In this episode, we are going to discuss the categories of behavior that let us know when we are “upper-limiting” ourselves. The good news is that there really aren’t that many of them and once you see them for what they are, you won’t be able to ignore them again. If you are a driven woman who is working hard, doing all the things, but just can’t seem to reach her goals on a consistent basis, you are already aware that something is getting in your way and suspect you are holding yourself back somehow. If you want to play a bigger game, make more money and have a bigger impact, you are going to love this episode. Just to give you a sneak peek, so you are gonna want to listen all the way to the end, here are the categories of upper limit behaviors to watch out for:WorryBlame & CriticismDeflectionArguments Illness If you have been listening to The DrIven Woman Podcast for more than an episode or two, you already know that I am very direct and pretty outspoken.  One of my favorite clients calls me “The Speaker of Uncomfortable Truths” and I think that’s pretty accurate.  You might feel a bit called out in this episode, but it’s because I seriously want you to have an amazing business and life and I know you aren’t going to have them if you are upper-limiting yourself.    If you are working your ass off to achieve your goals but something always seems to get in the way, it just might be your upper limits.  Freebie AlertNow that you have Identified your upper limits, you are ready to start breaking through them. How Much Success Can You Tolerate?

I am totally obsessed with helping women bust through their self-imposed limits and busting through my own.  For this week’s solo episode, we are kicking off a mini-series on the topic of upper limit issues - what they are, how to know if you have them (spoiler alert, if you are human, you DO…), and most importantly, how to eliminate them so you can reach your true potential. I have met countless intelligent, driven, ambitious women who unconsciously hold themselves back from the success, love, wellbeing, and genuine happiness that they deserve.  They label it self-sabotage, imposter complex, or doubt that they are truly committed to their dreams, and some of them are even shamed by their coaches when this happens, but upper limits are learned and what is learned can be unlearned. The term upper limit issue comes from the best-selling book, The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks, Ph.D.  The concepts in this book have changed my life and are one of the cornerstones of my coaching philosophy.  If you have ever wondered why no matter how much you want to achieve your goals and how hard you work toward them, something always seems to get in the way, then you are going to want to listen to this episode, and come back for episodes 65 and 67 as well.  And, don’t forget to get the worksheet so you can apply what you learned to your own life. Freebie AlertIf you want to take a deeper dive into uncovering your upper limit issues, grab this worksheet! Identifying Your Upper Limits WorksheetLet’s connect on Instagram: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachdiannwingert/ The Driven Woman Facebook GroupThe place to be for entrepreneurial women who are ready to go from driven and distracted to focused, fired up, and flame retardant  (https://www.facebook.com/groups/thedrivenwoman) Work With MeIt’s not too late to make the summer of 2021 your kickoff to getting back into momentum & up-leveling your business and life. Helping Women Take Their Next Step with Tricia Dempsey

Today’s guest, Tricia Dempsey always knew she was driven and ambitious, but she got a lot of messages about what girls can’t do growing up that lead her to make choices that felt like a too-tight pair of shoes.  Dad said OK to playing basketball, but when Tricia wanted to go into sales and got a hard NO, she chose the socially sanctioned path of teaching, which she did until she just couldn’t face a room of middle schoolers anymore.  Tricia left teaching for the business world but eventually discovered she was building someone else’s dream (while doing most of the work and generating most of the revenue.)  A cancer diagnosis was the wake up call she needed and Tricia started her business without waiting to finish treatment. Today, Tricia is the CEO of Thrive-Her, a vibrant online business, empowering other women to start their own businesses through coaching, content and community.  She works with women who have experience and skill, want to start their own business but just don’t know what their next step is or how to take it.  She’s the kind of woman who makes people feel at home with her immediately. We compared our Strengths Finder Top 5, talked about climbing the wrong ladder,  being an Amazon Woman - we are both super tall (I’m 5’10 and she’s 6 feet), and of course being a Driven Woman.   Before I share our inspiring conversation, I’d like to share this week’s Pod Praise, which comes from fellow life coach Audrey Lollis who writes: “Thank you Diann for being so authentic on this podcast! Your excellence really stands out and I'm excited to continue listening to all the remaining episodes” Thanks for listening and thanks for this awesome review, Audrey!  Want to help me know exactly what content to feature?Click here to take this poll  “What’s Holding You Back?”  I’m working on a brand new series on mindset blocks.  Tell me yours so I can create the perfect episodes for you! https://www.tryinteract.com/share/poll/5f9d78cb138d6c0014b069a1/ Don’t forget to leave your own review of The Driven Woman Podcast, so I can read it on a future episode!    Apple: https://apple.co/2BZDFzcAndroid: https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/the-driven-woman-1194485Connect with Diann Online: The Driven Woman Facebook Group:https://www.facebook.com/groups/thedrivenwoman/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachdiannwingert/ Tricia dropped so many value bombs in our convo.  Here are the books she mentioned during the interview: Necessary Endings by Henry Cloud4 Disciplines of Execution by Covey, McChesney, and Huling The Million Dollar One-Person Business by Elaine PofeldtTricia’s fully booked workshop: https://www.thrive-her.com/booked/Monthly membership program: Thrive-Her Passport: https://www.thrive-her.com/a/46999/AnKtDbQX (affiliate link)

Expectations vs. Reality: How to Bridge the Gap

When I first started coaching female entrepreneurs,  we focused a lot on productivity and time management, because my clients wanted to get more done.  So, I taught them the latest techniques to identify their most important goals and to accomplish them more efficiently.  Over time, our coaching conversations had shifted to energy management - when to do our creative work and when to do the tasks that require more focused effort. But, they were still overwhelmed and exhausted. The more I dug into their biz shizz,  the more I realized what they needed most - obligation management. What am I talking about?  How we deal with expectations - our own and other people’s.  What I uncovered is that a whole lot of really smart, badass female entrepreneurs have shitty business boundaries, are over delivering and under charging and avoiding uncomfortable conversations with both their clients and their team.  So, this is the topic of this week’s solo episode, dealing with expectations.  Because if you are doing more than you should be out of feelings of guilt and obligation,  you are going to keep on draining your energy and not getting things done.  So, sit tight and keep your seat belt buckled, while I share this week’s pod praise, from Jessica Foley who writes:   “I’ve been meaning to write a review since I heard about this podcast and listened to my first episode. If you are a driven woman and might be gifted (or have a higher than average IQ) LISTEN to Diann! It’s like she knows how your brain is working and how to challenge it! She’s amazing and so are her guests !” Thanks, Jessica! Remember,  if you leave a review for The Driven Woman Podcast, Diann will read it on a future episode.
