65. Embroidering the Cosmos with Jaclyn Skeans
What a joy it is to share the story & the spirit of my student-client-collaborator Jaclyn Skeans here on Moon to Moon. Jaclyn is no stranger to the podcast. She was on episode 53 with some of the crew from The Magician's Table 2021 talking about working with Fire and elemental magic. And she joined the last episode - number 64 - on Astrology as Community Constellator, with folks from my previous astrology learning container Charting Your Course. Jaclyn shares how astrology has infused her life over the last couple of years, calling her into emergence again and again as she has listened and shown up. As I share in the intro, Jaclyn is such a heart-opening presence for me and for those in the circles where I witness her. She will melt you with her honest and loving voice. In 2022, Jaclyn has become a force of inspiration for us, as she's listened to the coaxing of the planets to reclaim her identity as a creative person. I swell with pride to announce that Jaclyn will be joining Astrology as Praxis - my new learning container co-facilitated with Jonathan Koe - as part of our community support team. She will be helping us hold the space and will be teaching in the second half of our time. The whole community is so lucky to have her with us! Jaclyn Skeans (she/her) is an avid list maker (Virgo Rising), lover of all things magical (Pisces Sun), and always curious about how you're really doing (Scorpio Moon). Cultivating a more intimate relationship with astrology and the planets has been an ever evolving gift, one that currently has Jaclyn creating a life that inspires and excites her. In the real world you'll most likely find Jaclyn out on meandering walks with her dog, sitting in the sun, or in her sewing studio creating Astro Hoops- custom, textile creations that turn your natal chart into tangible art. Follow her @thePeachBungalow or at www.thePeachBungalow.com Go visit the course page and sign up to get updates and more information. Registration will be August 26-28. We begin September 10! +++ Podcast art by Angela George. Podcast music by Jonathan Koe.

64. Astrology as a Community Constellator with Jonathan, Jaclyn, Amy, John, Bridget, and Mary
Astrology is a medium for connecting with others. It's a community practice. It constellates us together while we remember who we are. The root of constellation means "together with the stars" - of course astrology brings us together with the stars! Tears! In this special episode, my collaborator Jonathan Koe and I host a conversation with five beautiful humans who participated in our 2021-22 astrological learning space Charting Your Course. We discussed: What they've learned about themselves, others, and the world around them from learning How applying and questioning ‘knowledge’ is as powerful as accruing it, and how it happened within a community of learners. What learning astrology has taught them about cultivating themselves and others in their lives. What trepidations they experienced in terms of learning together and being in a long-term learning container. What they learned about being with yourself and being in community since learning astrology within the community. A special thank you to John Beynon, Amy Lauricello, Bridget Scanlon, Mary Schuch, and Jaclyn Skeans for contributing their insights and lived wisdom. Read more about them below: John has been reading tarot since the early ‘90s and has been intertwining astrology and tarot in his personal practice, which he often shares through his Instagram account at @the.charyot. He brings a social justice lens to his work in the intuitive arts, and he is currently interested in how the modalities of tarot and astrology support recovery for people who are liberating themselves from substance abuse disorders. Mary describes herself as someone who is committed to showing up for the experience of belonging in a human body. Informed by her upbringing as a homeschooled pastor's kid and the eighth of eleven siblings, Mary is reclaiming her right to exploration and education. She values meditative multidisciplinary living through her practices of writing, music, art, movement, breadmaking, astrology, and being outdoors. You can find Mary @maryschuch. This episode is our siren song as we constellate the community around our next learning container: Astrology as Praxis. We are lovingly calling in and nurturing our future course participants and all those for whom this exploration may be deeply shifting or liberating. 63. All My Fucks Got Abducted
In this solo episode, I share a framework I've been playing with for a few months: All My Fucks Got Abducted. Before diving in please note my CONTENT WARNING that I talk about abduction & trauma, and then I invite listeners to reframe the idea of abduction as a term that is neutral depending on the perspective. I completely understand if some folks find this conversation triggering or inappropriate. Abduction literally means "to lead away." What if we play with this idea of the planets abducting the fucks we're ready to let go of, those egoic investments, fears, or attachments that hook us and keep us from exploring and feeling liberated with new ways of being in the world? Example: I used to be obsessed with being seen as good and nice and rule-following, but those fucks got abducted, and now I feel free to be in my truth. I talk about where the phrasing came from (this meme that cracked me up with its playful sci-fi vibe) and how it came back to me in a collective reading for one of my course containers. I share how I've been playing with it in my own process and then invite you to decide if it resonates or not. The second part of the episode is a suggested Ceremony for the Fucks that Got Abducted. Please listen before trying it out to be sure it resonates for you. Edit the template to your style, desires, and comfort. Make it yours! +++ If you're interested in learning astrology with me, if you've been craving inclusion to one of my community containers, know that I have a new experience coming up called: ASTROLOGY AS PRAXIS: REMEMBERING OUR PARTICIPATION IN THE COSMIC BODY. 62. Remembering Astrology as Praxis with Jonathan Koe
In this episode, my long-time collaborator and treasured friend Jonathan Koe (they/he) and I get to naming just what astrology means to us. We do this by deepening into the keywords of our upcoming learning container: ASTROLOGY AS PRAXIS: REMEMBERING OUR PARTICIPATION IN THE COSMIC BODY We discuss: The ways our colonial education presents an incomplete model Learning in community Competitive & comparative dynamics How praxis show up in our collaboration Praxis through the lens of Saturn & Mercury Praxis allowing the opening of relationships and the loss of control - to not only conquer the concepts and understand the ideas and archetypes, but also to be in communion with and to stand under those ideas. A certain humility and mystery around learning An example that I shared around healing Saturnian time and cultivating relationship to the lunar time, balancing the two in order to come into right relationship of time. Adoption rates and adoption methods in learning Jonathan shares that they'd rather not be an expert than not be a lover Remembering our participation in the cosmic body Remembering as gentleness Participation as an active word Cosmos vs cosmic body In the intro, I share how I feel like Astrology is Praxis feels like arriving to language for how I've been relating to astrology all along in my wild way... now lit up, clarified, and made more potent and approachable by Jonathan's intellectual, creative, collaborative, mystical, embodied care. Go visit the course page and sign up to get updates and more information. As with the last episode, we share this conversation on both Moon to Moon as well as on Jonathan's podcast Healing the Spirit: Astrology, Archetypes, & Artmaking. 60. Living the F**k Out of Your Chart: Leo Edition with Creative Director Angela George
What an honor to share this conversation with my dear friend, creative collaborator, and business partner Angela George. In this iteration from the series LTFOOYC, we study and celebrate how Angela is living the f**k out of her chart with special focus on her Libra Rising, Virgo stellium, and Leo Sun. Many M2M listeners already know Angela through her aesthetic genius in my workbooks. Angela is my First Reader, and takes the content I channel from Word doc to delicious design. As a creative director, Angela has walked numerous companies through the branding exercise, both young companies and established brands looking for a fresh identity. Her innovative outlook allows clients to articulate their unique qualities in ways that forge profound and lasting connections, which she then translates through the language of design. She spent nearly 7 years at The Richards Group where she quickly worked her way up from designer to leading a team of creatives for a number of the agency’s top clients such as Red Lobster and Dr Pepper Snapple Group. Angela founded By George Partners in 2011 to focus her energy on the clientele she is most passionate about: lifestyle brands with an emphasis on food, fashion, and hospitality industries. Her enthusiasm for food, and unique creative background landed her an opportunity in 2015 to compete with cooks on Food Network’s new hit series “All Star Academy” (Season One). 59. Don't Argue With Your Chart with Astrologer Debra Silverman
In this episode, I open by sharing what being "wildly alive" means to me and I get into what you can expect from the investment in my new offering Wildly Alive: Channeling FIRE for Your Emergence. It is my great pleasure to welcome to Moon to Moon one of my earliest astrology teachers Debra Silverman. In the conversation, I share with Debra the top 4 takeaways that I got from her teachings that still deeply support from work. Of these four, one of them was the importance of honoring the elements in one's astrological practice and daily life. Debra wrote a book called The Missing Element, which helps you learn elemental wisdom to weave into your healing path. Debra was tickled to hear me distill what she taught me. She also shares with me what she most loves about her chart, a question she's never been asked before. Debra's bio: While there is no “one size fits all” approach, Debra has developed a unique psychological-spiritual model, combining her expertise in Esoteric (soul-centered) Astrology with her extensive education in Psychotherapy to help those going through major life changes, pain, and insecurity. She custom designs her therapeutic approach to each individual, using astrology and psychology as a magical healing combination in order to achieve emotional health & wisdom. 57. Coincidence as a Practice with Matt Bull
This is a very special episode for me as my guest is my boyfriend Matt Bull. Matt is a Clio-winning writer and creative director, and cofounder of a small but acclaimed advertising agency called Kickstand. His work has been covered extensively, and he was once called an “advertising folk hero of sorts” by Adweek. You might recognize his voice from either his side work as a voiceover artist for national brands or from the viral video of him pranking his daughter (Google Mario kart dad prank if you’re curious). Matt is a dedicated father to 3 teenagers. And he is happiest when he is making something, whether it’s a song, a poem, or a piece of furniture. In the intro to episode, I share Matt's chart (thank you, Matt, for your permission). Matt is a Sag Rising with Neptune on the Ascendant, a Pisces Sun conjunct Jupiter, and a Gemini Moon. Then I get into a discussion of The Hierophant from the tarot, and how the card felt important to my desire to bring Matt on the show. The Hierophant is associated with the sign of Taurus, and relates to Taurus's connection to the throat and the vocal chords. I also share how the framework of the Emergent No - which I introduced here exactly a year ago - is so alive again right now, and how honoring his No has been crucial across Matt's life. General time stamps: 43 minutes in: interview begins 49 minutes: the first time Matt uses the phrasing "wildly coincidental" 58 minutes: Matt shares about being the son of an ordained minister, Christian counselor, and exorcist of "demon attachments" 1 hour 7 minutes: Matt discusses when and how he began to question the certainty of the frameworks of his religious upbringing 1 hour 17 minutes: how Matt came to embrace the weird and preposterous as part of living with uncertainty (it involves UFOs) 1 hour 31 minutes: how astrology helps Matt feel a wave from the universe and let go of needing direct answers 1 hour 34 minutes: how healing from religious trauma has meant embracing a life-long process of relearning self-trust 1 hour 49 minutes: Matt's growing relationship to the tarot as a space for play, intuition, and practicing coincidence 2 hours: Matt's wildly coincidental stories with the 1st quarter moon and their connections to his own version of Vulture Magic 2 hours 17 minutes: my outro section begins and I share yet another wild coincidence we forgot to mention in our interview Thank you, Matt, for bringing your whole self to Moon to Moon! I love you so much. Note for astrologers: I published this episode when Jupiter was exactly conjunct his Sun at Pisces 29'02. +++ Work with me one-on-one to cross thresholds of emergence. For more on the Emergent No and living wildly, be sure to follow me on IG or subscribe to my newsletter. Podcast art by Angela George. Podcast music by Jonathan Koe.

56. Living the F**k Out of Your Chart: Aries Edition with Megan Frye
Living the F**K Out of Your Chart is a series that Moon to Moon hosts now and then. In each of these episodes, Britten and her guest weave personal story-telling with the wisdom of the guest's chart. LTFOOYC episodes are fun for students of astrology. Whether you are a beginner, a professional, or somewhere in between, you can feel the archetypes come through and expand your personal database for certain placements. It is moving and inspiring to access the experience of having a different chart from one's own. For the Aries edition, Britten invited her longtime client, student, hypnotherapy guide, editor, collaborator, and friend Megan Frye. Megan is a fiery Aries Sun. She is also Cancer Rising with Moon in Aquarius. We get into lots of other signatures as well. Megan is a writer, hypnotherapist, and eternal student of astrology.
