72. Loving the 8th House with Astrologer Erin Kelley
The 8th House is a zone of the self and the chart that is endlessly fascinating, compelling, and zingy for me. Associated with a hodgepodge of seemingly disparate topics over the centuries - taxes, shared resources, death, trauma, intense bonding, the occult, sexual obsessions and compulsions, and mysteries. What unites these is that none are topics we're likely to get into over a casual lunch with someone we don't know well. They represent what is hidden, taboo, and repressed in a culture. And we all have an 8th House. Both my one-on-one containers and my live community spaces tend to be very 8th House. By tapping into the hidden, we bring forth the unconscious for healing, integration, and ultimately transformation. I invited my friend Erin Kelley to come talk about the 8th House because Erin is someone with a significant 8th House assignment: she has Sun & Moon in Libra in the 8th. Depending on the house system she chooses, she has multiple other planets as well. I tend to be very attracted to people with 8th House invitations. They go through a lot of Life-Death-Life cycles and have to continually reinvent themselves and grow stronger every round. This is a quality I respect. My oldest daughter is a Sun-Moon plus 3 other planets 8th House child. Loving and caring for her increases my passion for this realm of astrology. I hope you enjoy this topical focus on a single house - my first time to do this on Moon to Moon! Erin Kelley is an astrologer and intuitive who loves finding beauty and joy in the most unexpected places. A former kundalini yoga and meditation teacher, full spectrum birth worker, and consultative strategist, she believes the book of knowledge is never truly written and has an insatiable curiosity which is continually calling her to adventure and leading her down a number of paths. Erin has studied the nature of invisible things throughout her life and in 2020, she began working on the concept of Slow Magick, which is the practice of slowing down and stepping into sacred time, to deeply connect with Nature and the Land to relax, restore, and reveal the natural self. When not ensconced in enthusiastic communion and conversation with the otherworld realms, you can find Erin and on the internet at https://slowmagick.com. Follow her on Instagram. Her contribution to my upcoming offering Cave Space is titled: "Life After the 8th House: Healing, miracles, and other riches of the unseen realms." Her pre-recorded lecture discusses strategies and practices for working with the “mysterious dark” as an ongoing practice utilizing one’s natal chart as a catalyst for co-creation of one’s desires. Learn about Cave Space! Upon registration, there's a spot to input your mailing address for your Living the Signs: Scorpio workbook. And if you're one of the first 30 people to register, you receive a free bonus gift: an herbal ritual oil inspire by Pluto and Scorpio from the Witches for Bernie apothecary! The first live session is Wednesday, October 26. There are four total live sessions and the rest is all pre-recorded for you to engage with at your own pace. All recordings will be available in the course site if you can't make it or you find this offering after the lives are complete. +++ Podcast art by Angela George. Podcast music by Jonathan Koe.

71. How I Reframe My Struggles in Magical Language
Reframing my struggles with astrology has helped me not only re-commit to living here but to do so with wild aliveness, authenticity, and joyful presence. This is because astrology is a magical language: the words are more than new vocabulary terms. Astrology provides codes for accessing technologies for speaking magic, for healing, and for dreaming the emergence of new timelines for ourselves and for our world. In this episode, I share how on the side of portal of the magical word Scorpio, we open into a realm for healing our relationship to the unconscious, to trauma, to buried memories, and to the dead. You'll find here: - a study of the ancient Sumerian myth "The Descent of Inanna" - the precursor to the myth of Persephone - a look at ways modern psychoanalysis has shaped our understanding astrology and myth, and what this has to do with emergence - a discussion of the 8th House in astrology as our closet and our underground, which tends to open up for us the deeper we go in our enmeshed relationships - co-dependency versus what I call "gate-walking" (how to hold sovereignty and our own shit within our deep partnerships) - the connections between alchemy, astrology, and psychology - my own version of the 7 stages of an underworld journey and why I'm so passionate for helping myself and those who are interested in learning with me to find tools and skills for moving through stage 2 (gnarly feels) and 3 (being with what's here). - how in ancient Sumerian language "ear" and "wisdom" are the same word, so in the original Descent when it begins that Inanna "opened her ear" to the Great Below, it refers to the wisdom she wanted to learn from the underworld, and how wisdom is so much of the gift of the journey - a discussion of how crucial it is to give our shadow self - the unconscious that bubbles up - a witness to listen and reflect back without judging, advice-giving, or solution-grasping This episode is so much of everything I am and everything I do. I love it. Learn about my new offering CAVE SPACE, an online learning container with 4 weekly lives but mostly pre-recorded teachings and exercises for you to experience at your own pace. I invited 12 contributors to bring their wisdom of the underground path to guide you in the dark. Most of them you will recognize from Moon to Moon or my learning containers. We meet Scorpio season. All replays available for folks who join later or can't attend. The purpose of CAVE SPACE is to give you magical language, tools, and exercises to greet yourself where it's often quite scary. The overall goal is the same as with all of Emergence Astrology: to help you trust your life. All participants receive my Scorpio workbook. The first 30 to register receive a Pluto ritual oil from Ashley Estabrook of Witches for Bernie. 70. Divorce as Initiation with Trauma-Informed Life Coach Molly Blue Wilder
Divorce is an initiation. And like all initiations, it's a death. Death brings life. Life brings death. The only sure thing is change. And divorce helps us live this truth in ways that are sometimes harrowing, often wondrous, always alive. Divorce is utterly thorough in its initiatory invitations. There are no parts of us that aren't asked to shift. I know this. And Molly Blue Wilder knows it. Molly's bio: 28 years and 7 kids into marriage, the family-centered life I meticulously crafted fell apart at the seams.Even though it was high time, the upheaval of divorce exposed my deepest attachment wounds. Disoriented; overwhelmed; reeling with grief, uncertainty and fear, I gradually learned to hold onto myself in each moment as it unfolded, rather than getting sucked into the painful vortex of the past or the anxiety of an unknown future. Applying the salve of practical skills, somatic awareness and powerful shifts in thinking, I lovingly attended to my healing process, allowing innate power and intuition to deeply root the growth of my new family structure and relationships. Today, as a somatic and trauma informed life coach, I’m a bridge of resources and support for those on a similar hero’s journey, facing the deepest wounds for the sake of wild self-reclamation, freedom, and powerful life creation. I wish I had had someone like Molly to support me through my own initiation. (As I joke in the intro, astrology was my divorce recovery coach lol.) In this beautiful conversation we discuss: breaking up with the "good girl" archetype the outrageousness of our cultural celebration of "selflessness" not only healing shame for the "bad decisions" of our younger self but actually falling in love with their wisdom and intelligence the importance of individuation and differentiation in secure attachments releasing our children from the ego's desire to be needed (LOADS of Mom wisdom in this conversation) healing by letting ourselves be whatever we previously thought was off-limits for us how, as space holders, healing our own trauma is the most loving thing we can do for our clients Connect with Molly through her website. Check out her new podcast Growing Wilder. Follow Molly on Instagram. Molly and I share how we met in one of somatic healer Luis Mojica's small group spaces for space holders who have clients working with trauma. 69. This Is Who I Am Now: Emerging as a Mystic with Rebecca Padgett
Oh what a joy to be with Rebecca Padgett. This episode is a tale of 2 emergences: Rebecca's emergence as a beautiful, deeply connected astrologer and then her emergence as a full-blown psychic and seer. This episode is publishing on her solar return: Happy Birthday, Rebecca! Stay until the end though the outro! I share some personal things that yielded some yummy words for you. Rebecca's bio: I am Rebecca Padgett - a tarot reader, astrologer, visual artist, and dedicated student of divinatory and intuitive practices. My attraction to all things mystical began in childhood. From a young age, I felt a connection to something more than what I could see and feel in this physical world. As my intuition developed, so did my sensitivity to the energy of others here and on the “other side.” Inspired by my family lineage, I undertook an intensive period of study with a variety of internationally renowned teachers, astrologers, and tarot readers to clarify my own experiences, find my voice, and refine my ability to share my intuition with others. I take great pride in being able to reflect that knowledge to each person who comes to me seeking answers and guidance. Book a reading with Rebecca and follow her on Instagram. +++ Yes, the doors are still open for Astrology as Praxis. Yes, we want you with us! Yes, we want to entice you and make it possible for you. 68. I Am the Mother and the Child: Virgo Wisdom in My Field
Sharing some Big Virgo Wisdom coming through lately in my court and it feels so yummy to share this with you here in the Moon to Moon space. This phrasing for Virgo from Esoteric Astrology feels like such a rich zone for listening and healing alchemy right now. What does it mean to be both the "mother" and vessel shaper of ourselves, of our lives? What does it mean to also be the child of ourselves, of our lives? This is not an easeful zone for contemplation because most of us have such activation when it comes to what we've been served from systemically unskillful Virgo energy. Many of us have been on the receiving end of harsh Virgo - especially to ourselves! This is the zone of the Inner Critic so I understand that caregiving here is frightening to consider. I feel that right now we're being asked to release how we're thinking about something that's going on in our lives. And I offer this Mother / Child medicine of Virgo as a way in. Virgo invites us to attune to what's up. To learn from it. To adapt based on this new information. And then to refine as you go. Attune - Learn - Adapt - Refine... This is Virgo. This isn't always easeful for those of us afraid to really show up, unsure how we feel about inhabiting a body here on the planet, afraid we'll do it wrong if we try, worried we can't trust ourselves to show up the way we might want to, convinced it's easier to just not have a refining process or a practice. My invitation is to gently start where you are and sit with what comes up to be witnessed and released as you listen here and live with what lands. In the episode, I also offer this tarot spread for you. It's 6 cards in a pyramid shape: TOP 1 card: What is the situation? This refers to whatever part of your life where you sense you're learning the most because you're being challenged to learn and adapt: a relationship, some aspect of your work, a way you're approaching something. MIDDLE 2 cards: Left: How am I the mother of this situation? Right: How am I the child? BOTTOM 3 cards: Left: What does Mercury want me to remember? Middle: What does Mercury want me to release? Right: What else do I need to know? Enjoy! Let me know how it goes. Tag me if you share! For sure the "situation" in my field right now is learning how to be the co-mother and the child of Astrology as Praxis. It's expanding and challenging who I think I am in radical, unforeseen ways. My collaborator Jonathan Koe and I are still talking with folks interested in joining. Our curriculum explores various portals to approaching and integrating astrology into our lives - as a practice for unlocking creativity, questioning consensus reality, and remembering our participation in the cosmic body. 67. Nicole France-Coe: Portal-Jumper, Shape-Shifter, & Mother
In this unashamedly magical episode, my collaborator Jonathan Koe and I are joined by a dearly admired member of our community spaces - Nicole France-Coe. Nicole landed in an astrology course that we tended to last year, and this year, Nicole will be joining us as part of the community support team for our upcoming course, Astrology as Praxis along with Jaclyn Skeans, who was the guest of Episode 23. This conversation is as unapologetically mystical, profound, and grounded as Nicole's presence is. We discussed how Nicole found our spaces through a deep, intuitive call to learn astrology, how Nicole's life led them to the devotional path to The Great Mystery, and what she's learned about being living in the liminal as a mixed race, gender non-conforming, neurodivergent human. Nicole also spoke about her experience with astrology - trusting the stars to tell her who she is, working directly with the planets through her own embodied gnosis, and how astrology connects them to their ancestors. Nicole, Jonathan, and I had such a fun time during the point of the conversation where we collectively realized that Astrology as Praxis will be a year-long dance party with the planets. I'm excited for you to experience Nicole's magic with us in Astrology as Praxis. Here’s Nicole’s bio: Nicole Providence France-Coe (she/they) is a devotee to Great Mystery and all Its beauty, pleasure, liminality, and dismantling power. She is more at home in the Unknown than the Binary and the Static. Being born onto Earth as a mixed race, gender non-conforming, neurodivergent human has provided the blood and bone blueprint for learning how to dance in the cracks. Nicole relates deeply to the archetypal energy of the Trickster as well as the High Priestess and delights in wedding these two energies in her body and through her oracular offerings. This fall, with her partner Dicky, they will be launching their business website, The Lion & the Lute. This space will hold their offerings in service to ancestral healing, oracular arts, handmade goods and flower essences. In the meantime, you can reach Nicole at nicoleprovidence@gmail.com or IG @nicolefrancecoe. In this episode, Nicole also mentioned The Lyceum - The Sacred Trust https://sacredtrust.org/workshops/pollen/ as well as Kathryn Solie's poisonous plant medicine class https://www.kathrynsolie.com/ We also mention the work of Rachel Blodgett of Serpent & Bow. You can hear Rachel on M2M in Episode 43. And Megan Frye of Healing Wave Hypnosis. You can hear Megan on M2M Episode 56. Join me and Jonathan in a year-long astrological learning container, Astrology as Praxis! Our curriculum explores various portals to approaching and integrating astrology into our lives - as a practice for unlocking creativity, questioning consensus reality, and remembering our participation in the cosmic body. We begin our journey on Sep 10, 2022, and registration will open on Aug 26-28, 2022.

66. This Is What You Came For: Curriculum Magic with Jonathan Koe
So thrilling to be getting into the real deal - the structure of what we will actually be doing in Astrology as Praxis: Remembering Your Participation in the Cosmic Body, my upcoming year-long astrology learning container. This is what you come for. How can we turn curriculum-building, something potentially boring and mundane, into a magical, mystical, creative practice? How do we build learning containers that are not only sturdy, but life-giving and nourishing? How can we create a course curriculum that works through our lives, our bodies, our spirits? In this conversation, Jonathan Koe and I sat for a meaty, joyful conversation on the curriculum of our upcoming course, Astrology as Praxis. As lifelong students and teachers, we geeked out over our shared love for a juicy course curriculum. So we knew that when we began speaking to the spirit of Astrology as Praxis, we wanted to also craft a robust curriculum - one that will ensure that participants will feel held, cared for, and, simultaneously, challenged during the transformative experience of the course. We argue that it's once you're actually inside the experience that you learn what you came for. The visible curriculum is supported by so much invisible care, and we are transparent about our process here. I had so much fun talking about it all. We discussed how we weaved our mystical practices into the creation of this curriculum, how reflecting on the cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn) volunteered to help us with creating structures for the container, and finally we revealed and discussed the powerful syllabus for Astrology as Praxis. In the final 25 minutes, I speak to some logical and practical concerns you may have: how to afford this experience, what times are the meetups, and so. Stay until the end for answers to your questions. +++ Podcast art by Angela George. Podcast music by Jonathan Koe.
