The brain's impact on ACL function & health
In this bonus episode we speak with Dr. Jason Avedesian, Ph.D of Clemson Athletics about how the brain plays a critical roll in the health of the ACL.This is due to the vestibular system (eyes) and their ability to process information from the outside world and process the information before making a decision. It is key to understand that we S&C coaches cannot prevent ACL injuries, we can only reduce the likelihood of injury, and decrease the potential severity of injury.

Scott Goldman PhD - Profiling Athletes Ability to Learn
Connecting with athletes is hard. It is also extremely rewarding. In this week's episode we speak with Dr. Scott Goldman about an assessment tool called the AIQ. Dr. Goldman created this tool to help coaches learn how their athletes learn. In doing so, coaches can connect with and educate their athletes at a higher level.I took the assessment myself and it takes roughly 20-30 minutes to complete on an iPad. It was better than a standard multiple choice exam and had some fun parts. All in all if a team has the budget for it adding this tool can possibly help.____________________________________🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨This month June 2023 if you are a Strength and Conditioning coach trying to increase your income use these resources 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇💸How KWF grossed $1mil in side gigs: https://callmekeir.pages.ontraport.net/money-moves-optin💰Strength Coach Money Moves Course:https://callmekeir.securechkout.net/money-movesSign up for these courses to help increase your side gig income 💵💵💵💵_______________________________Be sure to hit the subscribe button to get more free content from us#education #learning #coaching #podcast___CONNECT:🎥YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@StrengthCoachNetwork/featured📱Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/strengthcoachnetwork🐦Twitter: https://twitter.com/StrCoachNetwork🐦Twitter: https://twitter.com/coach_j_lima📷Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/strength_coach_network/📷Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coach.j.lima/🌎Site: https://strengthcoachnetwork.com/📝Blog: https://strengthcoachnetwork.com/blog/🏫Education Course: https://strengthcoachnetwork.com/fundamentals🛒 Shop Gear: https://my-store-cd9833.creator-spring.com/

Adam Meakins - Sports Science Vs. Strength and Conditioning
Adam Meakins is a physiotherapist who has been working in the field for 20 years. He explains how he discovered the profession after leaving the military and pursuing a career in sports science. He believes that physiotherapy can be overly arrogant and should not receive the same credit as other health care professions. In the podcast episode, Adam emphasizes the importance of listening to patients and providing reassurance as the number one thing healthcare professionals can do to help with pain and movement. When people experience pain or injury, they often become fearful and doubtful about their situation, thinking of worst-case scenarios. By listening to their concerns and providing confident reassurance, healthcare professionals can alleviate some of these fears and doubts. Adam notes that he does this 99 percent of the time in his evaluations and consultations, highlighting the significance of this approach.00:04:04 Physio profession needs reform. 00:08:41 Interdisciplinary collaboration is key. 00:12:03 Develop life experience. 00:18:35 Reassurance and listening helps. 00:20:05 Focus on the big rocks. 00:28:57 Take action, don't obsess. 00:29:15 Take breaks from monitoring. 00:37:12 Adaptable approach to injury care. 00:40:19 Manage pain through activity. 00:44:26 Experiment to find relief.___CONNECT: 🎥YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@StrengthCoachNetwork/featured📱Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/strengthcoachnetwork🐦Twitter: https://twitter.com/StrCoachNetwork🐦Twitter: https://twitter.com/coach_j_lima📷Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/strength_coach_network/📷Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coach.j.lima/🌎Site: https://strengthcoachnetwork.com/📝Blog: https://strengthcoachnetwork.com/blog/🏫Education Course: https://strengthcoachnetwork.com/fundamentals🛒 Shop Gear: https://my-store-cd9833.creator-spring.com/

ChatGPT is terrible at programming Powerlifts
Are you like everyone else and worried about artificial intelligence? If you are we can't help you there. We can put your mind at ease that it WILL NOT replace humans as coaches. Not any time soon at least. It is fake intelligence for a reason. It cannot critically think. In this episode we asked ChatGPT to program for a powerlifter over a 12 week time. AI was able to give us something for a program. But it missed out on way more than it programmed.
