Living the Life You Want To Live
In today's episode, I talk to my uncle, Ron Flint, about living the life you want to live and embracing what you want.
There are a million roads to satisfaction. And, as the owner of a successful second-generation business, he has got some wisdom to share around:
- Building a business that lasts
- Being a good boss
- Team satisfaction and retention
- Building momentum beyond the effort you're putting in each day
He also gives us the low-down on his personally-tested, favorite outdoor gear and a tip that makes packing for travel smarter (not harder). Listen in!

Behind the Scenes of My Sold-Out Launch
In my last Group Coaching/Mastermind launch, I sold out two groups with ONE sales email. And, I filled 25% of the next one. In this behind-the-scenes episode, I tell you what that looked like and share some decisions I made along the way. Namely, why I decided to prioritize pacing for myself and the size of the container for my clients as opposed to "I can do more, faster, now."
There are lots of different ways to do things. All you need to do is DECIDE what feels best to you. How do YOU want it to look? What would make the long game MORE enjoyable?
Keep growing, keep going. It's only going to get better!

See + Be Seen: A Lesson On Visibility
Today's guest, Danielle Cohen is a Visibility Coach, professional photographer, and the creator of Visibility Medicine.* She is also the person who helped me come up with the name for this podcast!
How do you see yourself?
How do you see others?
How are you showing up to be seen?
And, where is there room to push that?
These are important questions - and ones we should definitely be asking ourselves on a regular basis, especially as online business owners.
In this episode, Danielle and I talk about that, as well as:
>> What has shifted in business (particularly, in the life coach space) over this past year
>> A term Danielle has dubbed "risky revelation"
>> When to take up space and when to lean back
>> Where we're headed - in terms of visibility and vulnerability
We'd love for you to listen and let us know what YOU think.
Does this resonate for you? Is there anything you're going to lean into/change/celebrate?
"My hope is that we continue to move towards truly being known and seeking to know the other, as fully expressed human beings." - Danielle Cohen

Working Against Violence
Today, I invite you to listen, consider, and act on whatever feels important.
Joining me in this conversation is Annette Bennett - Tlingit mother, auntie, and the Executive Director of a nonprofit working with people impacted by violence (Working Against Violence for Everyone or WAVE) in Petersburg, Alaska. (https://www.petersburgwave.org/)
Annette wants us to know that violence has a lot of layers and that it's often more complicated than people think. They also remind us that consent is about so much more than just sex.
We talk about the joys of parenting, connecting back to the 'why' that's behind what you're doing, the most difficult thing about running a non-profit, and personal boundaries (aka how they take care of themselves).
It was a lovely and important conversation. I hope you'll think so too.
The book Annette mentioned at the end is HERE, if you'd like to check it out. (Happy: Why More or Less of Everything is Fine by Derren Brown)

Growing Through Discomfort
This conversation has so many helpful gems. But, will be especially good for anyone who wrestles with change and feeling uncomfortable or who wants to grow their capacity for leadership.
Today's guest, Stacey Heath is an Organizational Development specialist and a self-proclaimed change addict.
We talk about:
- How values drive our decisions
- Why self-awareness is so important
- One of the most critical boundaries we can have
- Recognizing and creating opportunities for 'leadership moments'
- And, leaning into discomfort/resistance (to get to the good stuff)
As Stacey says, "we avoid discomfort and that's normal." But, what are we potentially missing out on by doing so?
Stacey has a fascinating story, does really important work in the world, and is a joy to know. Take a listen to our conversation and think about what resonates for you.

Making 'Failure' Fun & Learning to Trust Yourself
What was your biggest business failure? What things have you invested in where you didn't get the result you wanted? What would you say to coaches and entrepreneurs who are in the depths of self-doubt, shame, and misery? What do you do to move through fear/when you're feeling like a hot mess?
Have you ever wished you could ask someone these questions? Someone who's maybe just a little further along on the journey than you are, someone who would answer truthfully and with your best interest in mind?
Today's podcast interview is one of my favorites so far! We turn the tables, a bit, and I am interviewed by one of my clients, Savanna Schiavo.
Savanna always shows up with so much genuine excitement and curiosity. She asks me ALL THE THINGS she has ever wanted to know and I answer, candidly.
It's a bunch of stuff I never talk about out loud. And, a bunch of stuff Savanna said was so helpful to know. We peel back the curtain on my life and business. Nothing is off-limits, we leave it all on the table.
Here's an overview. We talk about:
- My biggest failure and what I learned from it
- Investments that didn't turn out the way I'd planned
- The book I wrote and left behind (you'll have to listen to the episode to hear more on that)
- How I make decisions now
- How to trust yourself
- Why it's dangerous to put people on pedestals and what you can/should do instead
- The thing I am currently making more room for
- Freedom as a business owner/entrepreneur
-----
Savanna is a Life and Confidence Coach who helps entrepreneurs grow their confidence in themselves so they can seriously grow their businesses.
She works with her clients to build their confidence in themselves, their expertise, what they offer, and how they feel in front of their audience.

Opportunities Are Everywhere
What do coaching and commercial fishing have in common? More than you might think.
In today's episode, I relive my time on a commercial fishing boat with Captain and long-time friend, Tony Moran.
Like many guests of the show, Tony is an amazing human and has his own unique way of doing things... Listen in as we talk about:
- How to find and take advantage of the opportunities that surround you
- Your responsibility, as a boss, to the people you hire
- Following the money AND enjoying the heck out of your job
- How being efficient really pays off
- And, why everyone should find a great mentor
Tony says, "where I live and work is one of the most beautiful places on the planet." I agree... the scenery and marine life we got to see every day on the boat was one of my favorite parts as well. Sit back and let us tell you about it!
-----
Tony Moran is the Captain of the Tacoma. He resides in Petersburg, AK (where I'm from). And, has a 1600 Ton Master’s license - enabling him to operate the BIG boats. He supplies to Trident Seafoods. And, is very passionate about/would love us all to take a look at a cause that is near and dear to his heart: Stopping the Pebble Mine in Bristol Bay (https://stoppebbleminenow.org/).

BTS: A Few Things I've Learned
At this point, I have recorded about 15 episodes and there are a few things I've learned.
Every once in a while, I'll drop a behind-the-scenes/bonus episode, because I love to be let in on other people's process - what they're up to, what they're learning, how they're going to shift and change as a result. So, I thought I'd do the same for you. It's all part of the FUN!

Caryn with Meredith Holley on Healthy Workplaces & Protecting Your Career
Today's episode features my friend, Meredith Holley. She's a lawyer, life coach, and the founder of Eris Conflict Resolution. The work that she's doing in the world is so unique and important - I can't wait to share it with you!
I'd encourage you to listen today not only for how the thoughts and ideas we discuss might apply to you, but how they could also benefit and be applicable to someone you know.
Meredith is a cultural health expert who helps employees stop toxic work environments and sexual harassment without losing their jobs. Her practice is very client-focused and explores the myriad of options that are available in situations where it can often feel like there aren't any good ones.
The problems we can face in the workplace are serious (especially for folks who hold a marginalized identity). But, there is hope.
The stories Meredith shares, about her own and some of her clients' experiences, are a great example.
I hope you enjoy this conversation. And, I would encourage you to check out more about what Meredith is up to at ErisResolution.com.
She is also gifting listeners FREE ACCESS to both of her books:
Career Defense 101: How to Stop Sexual Harassment Without Quitting Your Job (CareerDefense101.com)

Caryn with Nikki McKnight & Erin Leslie on Bringing the Inside Out
We have a special episode for you this week, where I talk to my team (Nikki & Erin) about ALL the things. It's kind of like an out-loud team-building exercise, where we take all of the behind-the-scenes, bring them front-and-center, and invite you along for the ride!
We talk about:
- Why being in a hurry and reactive in business can be so costly
- Why it's important to operate from your values and actually "walk your talk"
- What a "business minimum baseline" is and how that can serve you (and your team)
- The process of moving from a "me" to a "we"
- Our mission to make the coaching industry better
- What we each bring to the team and why we love working together
You'll also hear about Nikki's love for rom-coms and why rapid-fire questions make Erin sweat.
Business should be FUN and this conversation is a great example of how it really, really can be! Welcome to Team CG. 🧡
