JOYful Marketing & Business with Simone Grace Seol

https://caryngillen.lpages.co/lead-your-profit/ Who doesn't want MORE JOY, authenticity, power and influence in their life and business? Today, we're talking to joy extractor and amplifier, Simone Grace Seol. Simone is creating a revolution in how life coaches market online--teaching them how to get fully booked by putting love first, leaning into their messy genius, and not being afraid to get a little weird. Simone says, "when you're in your joy, you're inviting others to connect with you in your most powerful state." We are all drawn to joy, it's infectious. This conversation is about: - what joy is - how to lean into it - undoing the layers of societal expectations - how to be courageous on purpose - the intersection of motherhood and work ...and more! You will feel more joyful just hearing Simone talk about joy and why it's so important.  Today's challenge (after you listen to the episode): Think about the next courageous decision you need to make to create space for more joy in your life--more spaciousness, more boredom, more creativity, more play. What if you just made the decision right now that you're going to allow for that to happen?  I don't know about you but I want to live in a world where we're making decisions that feel like we're a little bit on fire. ;) DM or tag us on Instagram with your takeaways from this episode (@caryngillen and @simone.grace.seol). ----- You can learn more about Simone and her work at simonegraceseol.com. ----- What are you here to do this year? Finding Strength In Your Style

Your personal style is the first clue you give to the world about who you are.  "You can't exactly opt out of sending a message with what you're wearing. So, that is often people's first experience of your business or your brand. The fun part is to control that message and put your best foot forward." Today on the podcast, I am joined by Personal Stylist, Estelle Winsett who loves helping women find their unique power through style. "People have in their minds that in order to look professional they have to be uncomfortable - that's not true." In this episode, we talk about: - Questions you can ask yourself to hone in on your style - The benefit of Color Analysis - The one thing you should do right now to bring more harmony to your closet "Getting dressed is often the first thing we do in the morning and it can set the tone for our whole day." It's worth being intentional about. Listen in for some great tips on how to stand in your power and curate a wardrobe that reflects who you are. (There are also some extras on clothing care at the end.) To find out more about Estelle visit estellewinsett.com. Making Sure Your Money is Aligned

"Direct your money towards the things that you care about - no matter how much you have. Start where you're at, with what you've got, and practice working that muscle now." - Sarah DeLuca Today on the podcast, I am joined by money and philanthropy coach, Sarah DeLuca. We discuss: - how to make sure your money is aligned with your values - why it's important to talk about money - financial safety nets - aligned investing - future planning and more. She reminds us to ask ourselves: "What do I need to feel sustainable and abundant?" Also, to know that’s going to change over time. It’s not set in stone so it's worth revisiting every so often.  And, she encourages us to remember that "money is fluid. It flows like water." If it is just sitting there (not doing anything) it can get stagnant and diseased.  Money is powerful when it moves, especially when it's helping create the kind of world you want to live in and pass on to future generations. This episode is a great check-in with yourself to determine: - What creates safety? - What creates freedom? - Where are my values represented in how I spend and invest my money? How to Make Pain-Free Decisions in Business

I'm often asked how I make decisions in business. And, I hear a lot about past decisions clients have made that they regret. We talk about both of those things in this episode. How can you make decisions that are pain-free AND in line with the way you naturally make them? How do you not make yourself wrong for, or get stuck in, decisions that you've made in the past? Let's find out! It's a fun topic. It's a necessary topic. And, one that I hope helps anyone out there who might be struggling. Or, just provide greater insight into YOUR process. "Decide today how you want to think about the decisions that you've made and lean into trusting yourself on the ones that are coming. Let yourself be the person who..."  ----- Do you have some things you want to accomplish this year? Do you have a plan? Trauma-Informed Coaching

Today, we are talking to Lindsay Poelman (coach) and Kathy Kinghorn (therapist) about the importance of being trauma-informed. If our goal is to help our clients get where they want to go and for us to "do no harm" in helping them get there, then we really need to understand trauma. We need to know what it looks like, how it can present, how to let people have their stories, how to help them work through it, and when to pull in or suggest additional support. In this episode, we get into: - Big 'T' trauma vs. little 't' trauma - Relationship betrayal trauma - The individual nature of trauma - Safety, particularly in change work - The benefits of coaching and therapy (separately or together) - Gaslighting - what it is and how to recognize it As well as, how to listen to your gut and why we're not in a rush. "We all need a witness to our story. We need a witness to the beauty, to the tragedy... And, your story isn't the same as mine." - Kathy Kinghorn "I like to validate the hell out of their experience - as much as they need to get to the deepest, safest, most loving, acceptable and compassionate place possible. Then, let them lead themselves where they want to go." - Lindsay Poelman "And, change work, healing work, business growth... they're not about speed. If you're trying to rush, you're gonna miss the good stuff. So, thank you both for slowing it down." - Caryn Gillen Lindsay and Kathy are training coaches to become trauma-informed, especially in regard to relationships. They want coaches to understand how prevalent trauma is and how much they can do to support their clients in the midst of it - because it will come up. People Pleasing: What It Is and How to Stop

"People pleasing is us bending ourselves into a pretzel, in order to show up in the way we think another person wants us to - so that they can avoid dealing with us as we really are AND we don’t have to deal with their discomfort." Today's podcast guest is Life Coach and Mentor, Kelly Tadlock. After leaving a job in Silicone Valley ("There was not a dollar amount you could pay that was going to get me to stay.") and disappointing a lot of people along the way, Kelly found the thing that fills her up. She let go of the people pleasing (that is so ingrained in all of us) and became a huge proponent of self-connection and self-care (the real kind). "Self-kindness is non-negotiable," she says, "and it's usually the worst news I can give someone. Most of us have this real fear of 'if I’m nice to myself, I won’t do anything,' because it doesn't feel as active or as productive." But, it helps us become the person we want to be and create the life we want to live. We have the ability to continually come home to ourselves and reveal who we are – even to ourselves – on deeper and deeper levels. And, it's worth it.  Having the courage to disappoint people, to let them be wrong about you, and to ask for help in the midst of all the messiness yields the most amazing, delicious fruit. The kind that makes you say, "This feels so good. I didn’t even know this was possible." And, who doesn't want that? Your first act of radical self-kindness? Listening to this episode and checking in with yourself... how are you, really? And, what do you need the most right now?  As always, I would love to hear what bubbles up for you around this! DM me on Instagram if you want to have a two-way conversation (@caryngillen). And, to find out more about Kelly, you can find her at kellytadlock.com or on Facebook (Kelly Tadlock Coaching). ----- Find out what kind of business owner you are at caryngillen.com/quiz. Your answer will let you know areas where you're killing it and the places where there's room for growth in the 3 Pillars of Business Your Way. Can't wait to hear about your results! ----- Finally, EPISODE TRANSCRIPTS can be found here: caryngillen.com/transcripts.
