041: Josh Munger on Aesthetics, and how the Brace Ruling Affects the People

Talk Back to MeThe news of the new ruling put forth by the ATF regarding braces has rippled through the culture, and while we have seen actions taken in the past that will effect a section of the population, for once we are looking at a change that will impact us all. The last 15+ years has seen a rise of the popularity of firearms like the AR-15, dominating Gun Culture in America.Today's guest, Josh Munger, entered into Gun Culture through two vectors: photography and business. Where some enter through competition shooting, military, law enforcement, or legacy businesses, Josh brings his own perspective as both a creative and curator. In this show we discuss how the new Ruling will impact the everyman and the aesthetics of Gun Culture.Follow Josh Munger on Instagram at @joshmungerphoto and at joshmunger.comCheck out his business at www.roqueconcepts.comSupport our channel at www.redactedllc.comKeep up with upcoming projects on Instagram at @redactedllc Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

039: SHOTSHOW 2023 Culture Update, Intro to the Philosophy of the Outlaw

Talk Back to MeStreamed out of order because as those who have been to SHOTSHOT know, by the end you're so tired, it's best to get some rest before seriously reconsidering what took place. SHOTSHOW has stood as somewhat of a Mecca to Gun Culture for a while, with the exception of it being more of an event then a location. Functioning primarily as an Industry Show, every year it draws attention, either through new products being announced, or new drama to unfold. 2023 felt different. Quite a bit different, and while some of it had to do with the ATF, that's not all.Plus, here's the tip of the Iceberg when it comes to the Philosophy of the Outlaw. 040: Mike Glover on the Fourth Turning, Focus on the Long Game

Talk Back to MeAs the founder of Fieldcraft Survival, Mike Glover has taken part in shifting the colloquial concept of preparedness away from self-isolation in a bunker, instead replacing it with identifying the value in being an asset to your community. At the same time, the book The Fourth Turning has come back into vogue, spoken with the implication that we are approaching the Crisis. First Published in 1997, The Fourth Turning presents a theory that American History operates in a 4-phase generational cycle, beginning with the High, and followed an Awakening, an Unravelling, and finally a Crisis, before restarting with another High. Now that we've both read the book, Mike Glover and Forrest discuss just what phase we are in, and what it means when we are aiming at creating a better future, instead of simply waiting for the Crisis. Preparedness, as a virtue, must aim further than the pending apocalypse. (note: Published out of order, with Episode 39: SHOTSHOW 2023 Commentary)Follow Mike Glover on YouTube at @MikeGloverActualFind Gear, Training and More with Fieldcraft Survival at https://fieldcraftsurvival.comFollow us on Instagram and YouTube at @redactedllcSupport the Channel at www.redactedllc.com or on Locals Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

038: Josh Bronson, Founder of DISCO32

Talk Back to MeWhile in the past, Gun Culture has looked at the partition between military and civilian gear as one of quality and capability, that wall has since collapsed under the weight of reality, be it the rise of insurgency, or the return to a more pure understanding of Human Rights. DISCO32 has made a place for themselves bridging the gap between military accessories and civilian available radio equipment. Beginning with the fundamental question "what is a radio" and what is it for, we start from the foundations of the why which informs the how of communications systems. As Gun Culture continues to focus on teamwork and community, in order for that to take place, whether in the day-to-day or emergencies, we take a second look at how radios add value to any endeavor. DISCO32's comms related products can be found at www.disco32.comAnd on Instagram at @disco_32Support the Channel at www.redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram for the Operations a @redactedllcSupport the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

035: Tactical Maturity and the Citizen Skillset with Austin

Talk Back to MeIt's no secret that Special Operations and the surrounding mythos has dominated Gun Culture for the last two decades, but as one generation passes the torch to the next, we are starting to see a need for a different set of skills. At the same time, this new wave of Gun Culture has grown up with AR-15's in a way that no previous generation had. As Millennials begin to take the reigns, in businesses, media, content, and even the Philosophy of Violence, we are seeing a slight tempering of some of the fervor, resulting in cooler-headed or wiser approach to the tasks at hand. Austin joins the show to discuss what he sees as tactical maturity, as well as presenting what he considers the 13 necessary skills of a Citizen. Follow Austin, should he accept at @modern_witcher on Instagram. Support the Show at www.redactedllc.com through our merch. Follow us on Instagram at @redactedllcSupport the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

034: Joshua Baker, Author of Deinfringe

Talk Back to MeThe history of how cultures, philosophers, and governments have approached the idea of self defense spans much further than the Second Amendment. While in our day, most arguments of the subject center on contemporary events, agendas, and problems, by peeling back the layers of history, we can humble ourselves before the summation of human knowledge and argumentation to try to better understand what we think. Sometimes we read in order to better understand something, and other times we investigate in order to better represent our conclusions. Both are accomplished in Joshua Baker's book, Deinfringe, where he traces a long series of philosophical as well as legal arguments regarding an individual's right to self defense. Joshua joins us on the REDACTED Culture Cast to discuss no only what led to the book's creation, but an extension of the arguments that produced it. You can find the book on Amazon. 033: Tribe and Tradition, the Millennial Burden

Talk Back to MeThe desire for a rite of passage is contrasted by the desire for acceptance, but by whom? As the Millennial Generation rises to ascendancy in our timeline, so they are saddled with the responsibility to build traditions, and cast off cynicism. Even though holidays remind us of Traditions, most of us have spent the majority of our lives in a culture which rejects the foundations that it was built on. While this may be presented a common, though pessimistic outlook with wisps of political implications, what we find is that Millennials are reaching their zenith of tradition making, whether they like it or not. And like friends, if we do not choose them deliberately, they will be chosen for us. Thank you for Listening, and we'll see you soon. www.redactedllc.comSupport the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

032: Baret Fawbush of TruExodus / TruBuilder on Christianity and Gun Culture

Talk Back to MeJust because conversations are difficult doesn't mean that they can be avoided. In one sense Gun Culture has benefitted from theological foundation in Christianity, and on the other, philosophy and theology are considered both separate and one-and-the-same depending on the foundation. Members in the military have viewed Christianity as a question of commitment and a grounding element in the storm. Baret Fawbush is a Pastor, Firearms Instructor, and more who teaches firearms and from the Bible, often in the same day. While corporate America might try to draw a neat partition between these two subjects, when it comes to the important questions like justification, and morality, the line is either blurred, or in this case, nonexistent. When subjects mean a great deal to us, the conversations can come with a little bit of resistance, from within and without. We are thankful for this conversation with Baret Fawbush on participating in Gun Culture. Follow Baret on Instagram at @truexodus and tru_builderFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc and at www.redactedllc.comSupport the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc
