106: Night Vision and Resentment

Talk Back to MeWhat does Night Vision have to do with Resentment. For those ingrained in both the Culture War and the Firearms Community, it may not come as a surprise, as both entered the lexicon and the equipment room of many of us as the same time. As individuals like Jordan Peterson or Jack Donovan wrote and spoke about resentment, many of those participating in Gun Culture were just "getting into" Night Vision. And here we are with the question: should you train with Night Vision? Or, does anybody really need to train with it. After putting aside the generally presented bad arguments, we dig a little deeper into the question. Which unveils that much of this type of conversation is rooted, not in imperatives or objectives, but resentment. The counter-offensive in a sense to elitism, Resentment rots from the bottom up. Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

105: Some People Have It

Talk Back to MeThroughout history we have a long list of examples of both individuals and empires that divided all of humanity between those above and those below. Where it's the oppressors and the oppressed, the free and the serfs, the government and the people, or a complex caste system, these social structures are most often deemed immoral, incorrect, or manipulative. Yet, when it comes to people, while we may come to believe that all people are created equal, such an idea, absent a Metaphysic with a Creator, doesn't appear obvious: we are not all born in the same economic status, geographical location, or timeline. We have different proclivities, preferences, and traditions. Whether or not there are more differences or similarities between all peoples across time may come down to semantics. So, when we say that some people have it, and some people don't, what are we saying?Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

104: Declaration or Manifesto?

Talk Back to MeWhat's the difference between the Declaration of Independence and the Manifesto of a Mass Murderer? As we celebrate the 4th of July, we have the opportunity to reflect on our values, and state what we believe to be right and true and good. Our country was founded on more than just Scruples. And every generation must learn that if we do not consider those values, and voluntarily chose to uphold them, they will crumble under our watch. Do you have a line in the sand? One that if crossed, demands a response? Are you afraid that your Declaration of Independence will be considered the manifesto of a madman?Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

103: Multiculturalism: Fruit Without a Vine

Talk Back to MeThe Philosopher's Stone, Mysticism, Alchemy. When we try to turn Lead into Gold, we do so blind to the consequences. When we try to achieve peace through the abolition of meaning, the outcome is not a peace worth living. Multiculturalism, as it is presented in our contemporary world, offers a deal of this type: it tempts with a freedom from conventions, without disclosing the cost: meaning. Have you not heard it cried from the rooftops: "Can't we just get along." Somehow the voice of one that poses to be begging for acceptance turns out to be the one bearing the sword enforcing uniformity. It's not that we don't want peace. We simply don't want it at the cost of our soul. Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

102: Generalizations and Semantics

Talk Back to MeLike stolen valor, Gun Culture takes misplaced generalizations seriously, even personally, when people representing our ideals in the public forum end up painting the community in a bad light. The reaction often creates drama, thus running the cycle of separating into tribes, which clash until some other threat comes by to re-unite the people. This inclination is present in Gun Culture because it is present in mankind in general. Generalizations are useful when they are accurate, and those engaged in the conversation are aware of the use. In a conversation between Chris Williamson and Andy Stumpf, the latter had that opportunity to speak on behalf of Gun Culture. Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

101 Part 2: Marcus Singletary of Cloaked Entry Co. - Accepting Consequences with Conviction

Talk Back to MeWhat is it that makes our enemies most dangerous? What about Special Operations? We quickly go to tools, infrastructure, and logistics. Or perhaps it is training? It is one thing to consider the future and its consequences. It is another, however, to forgo our duty of intellectual integrity by ignoring the potential consequences of our actions. But one layer deeper, is to hide behind consequences as a shoddy stand-in for moral action. In addition to military service, Marcus Singletary and his wife run Covert Entry Co. teaching surreptitious entry methods. 101 Part 1: Marcus Singletary of Cloaked Entry Co. - Everyone's a Fed

Talk Back to MeWhat happens when the joke becomes reality? When the inside mischief of collective humor goes the wrong way? We've examples in recent history, especially with topics as ethically and politically charged as firearms. From the plot to kidnap a governor that turns out to be instigated more by Federal agents than willing participants, to the boogaloo bois, who turned a meme into their reality with disastrous consequences for them, in the post-information age, terms like psy-op and glowie can go quickly go too far. So, how do we start sorting out fiction from reality? How do we combat potential attempts to fracture an group in search of community? What are the ethics involved? In addition to military service, Marcus Singletary and his wife run Covert Entry Co. teaching surreptitious entry methods. 100: Jack Donovan on Masculinity, Violence, and Myth

Talk Back to MeIf the Gun Culture of the 1990's had a mythology to be described by the mainstream media, it would be centered around an approaching apocalypse. But for most historical mythologies, apocalypse referenced a conclusion of the knowable timeline. Jack Donovan has written extensively about masculinity and violence long before words like "manosphere" reached the internet. In this episode, we cover concepts like the Empire of Nothing as presented in Becoming a Barbarian, the relevance of the striker in myth in regards to violence, and rejecting the abdication of Morality to convenience.  Jack Donovan is the author of "The Way of Men," "Becoming a Barbarian," "A More Complete Beast," and "Fire in the Dark" as well as other titles. In these books he covers topics and theses such as "Violence is Golden," and defining masculinity across cultures. 099: A Priori vs A Posteriori Justifications and Violence

Talk Back to MeWhy are our leaders setting us up for failure? Which ones are aware of the trap, and which ones are merely following the language of the crowd? As we continue to ask the question of When is Violence moral, if ever, we recognize that we are running on the edge of a razor between two devastating outcomes. Be it incarceration. failure, or damnation, we are not ignorant fools playing with fire, but something like Prometheus in the contemporary age, with the warning not going unnoticed. A Priori and A Posteriori are terms familiar to those who regularly engage with rigorous philosophy, and for good reason. Although primarily and epistemic question, the findings we conclude echo through what we believe about morality, responsibility, and violence. A Priori: Knowledge that is justified without empirical evidence/experience. A Posteriori: Knowledge that is justified by observation/evidence/experience. So, in this case, is there a reason why almost all of our examples for justifying being capable of violence based on the potential future of an attack?Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

098: Jake Kunsky of JK Armament on Suppressor History, Culture, and Dark Competition

Talk Back to MeThe proliferation of Suppressors across the broader reaches of what we call Gun Culture may serve as counter to the doom-sayers of the Second Amendment. While we observe and react to the continuous stream of infringements and proposals of such, as more and more people take interest in the availability and benefits of Suppressors, we see it grow more and more entrenched in normalcy. Jake Kunsky has lived on the other side of that veil we call the Gun Store, observing and participating in not only the development of physical products, but abstract concepts as well. His influence is visible, for those who know what to look for. JK Armament has recently brought two new suppressors to the table, to challenge the status-quo of shotguns and handguns commonly used for concealed carry.
