097 Part 2: Jordan of Finance and Maneuver // Risk and Reward

Talk Back to MeIn this second half, the conversation continues on questions that haunt every man. Fables, expectations, and rites of passage, common motifs through history, men desire something to be demanded of them, something they can be worthy of. In addition, we take a look at some of the rules Gun Culture functions on, and challenge the norms. 097 Part 1: Jordan of Finance and Maneuver - Cliffside.

Talk Back to MeMore than just Gun Culture is reeling from an atomized society. As a result, the term "community" rides from one circle to another, as something we're feeling the need for. Despite the ambiguous appearance, Finance and Maneuver built a beacon through technology that so many different people could circle the wagons around. What's the difference between a DM and running into your neighbor at the Grocery store? Is our nostalgia misplaced for a past that never really existed. 096: Need is Not Enough

Talk Back to MeBetter to have it and not Need it, then to Need it and not Have it. This simple justification may work in a pinch, but in the long run it leaves us open to attack. The concept of justification goes deeper than circumstantial evidence when we consider morality. There must be more than conditions, imperatives must come from somewhere. By grounding our moral justification in a shallow condition as need, we set ourselves up for the destruction of our so-called rights. Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

095 Pt 2: Luke Brown aka Southpaw Luke, Duty Begets Joy

Talk Back to MeMotivation, Meaning, and Purpose stand out in the 21st Century as missing from society. On the one hand, this may be the problem our era faces, and on the other, it appears to be timeless. As subjects that draw charlatans like flies, we try to navigate the difficulties of the subject with some delicacy, recognizing pitfalls along the way. If it were only so easy to come to a conclusion on Monday, and be satisfied for the remainder of one's life, we wouldn't be here. Instead, work must be done daily to pursue all three. One method of answering the question of purpose is to look at natural law: what is it that we were created for. A phenomena arises: it may be easier to give the answer to a crowd, than to one's self in the quiet moments in-between. 095 Pt 1: Luke Brown aka Southpaw Luke on Odysseus, Meaning, and Republic

Talk Back to MeOne of the pleasures of engaging with Philosophy, is that it nearly requires one to read the old texts. There's a reason we so often go back to the Greeks, and it's not always that we understand them to be correct. Whether it's the good works that survive history because they are so good, or that the Iliad and the Odyssey provide such an excellent landscape to explore various moral arguments, we find the motivations of one protagonist to illuminate the difference between the why and the how of violence. Luke Brown brings a conversation that moves beyond the disappointment we may face when observing a Gun Culture that is less than what we want it to be, and with an attitude that encourages us all to do better. 094: Meditations on Evil

Talk Back to MeThe idea that there is no such thing as evil has historically remained an uncommon belief. Call it a privileged one if you will, but that alone is not sufficient in making an argument one way or another. The existence of evil perplexes in ways beyond the intellect. How we think about evil will determine how we approach it, and our conclusions will make demands of us, so tread lightly. Racism, Activism, Human Suffering, the Problem of Evil, are just a few ways of entering into the conversation, one that exists both on the surface, and deep below. Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

093 pt 2: Ahmad of Lead & Steel // Is Multiculturalism a Left-Right Any Issue?

Talk Back to MePicking up where we left off, we start again with a conversation on Multiculturalism, from our differing and aligning perspectives. The Gun Industry has changed what it means to be a typical Gun Owner. Multiculturalism remains a sensitive touchpoint in a world that is getting smaller through technology, and as a result, the stakes are high and will no go away. We are regularly being made aware of the cost of war, unless we deliberately seek to avoid it. And the cause of conflict must not be oversimplified, lest we start down the path of dehumanization. Hard conversations require courage. Thank you for listening. 093: Ahmad of Lead & Steel on Optics, Multiculturalism, and Better Lawyers

Talk Back to MeMuch has changed since 2013. In the world of Red Dots, we are no longer forced to choose between a T1 or EOTech. Lead & Steel, the company that brought the LP-1 Promethean brings forward some of their optic design in this conversation, and in our fashion, quickly turns to what drives us in Gun Culture. Ahmad's perspective on the shift in our community started over a decade ago. The social strata has changed more than just the relationship between veterans and citizens. One example: Legal Representation has gotten so much better. 092: How Cynicism Kills

Talk Back to Me"I'm not a Pessimist, I'm just being Realistic"This phrase has become familiar to many, by becoming a calling card of the cynic. But what does it mean to be a cynic, or a skeptic, or a nihilist? Cynicism flows through so much of our contemporary culture, whether within the microcosm of Gun Culture or macrocosm of the Post-Modern West. We imagine that the absence of deprivation has produced a side effect of the absence of meaning.Cynicism is cowardice masquerading as bravery. How to avoid it and the death it brings. Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

091: Why You Should Become Dangerous

Talk Back to MeThe Common Criteria that Gun Culture has given for bearing arms has come up short when it comes under scrutiny. For the past decades we have based our moral 'ought' when it comes to carrying a firearm on the potentiality of being attacked or infringed upon, as well as the deterrence it might bring. But under closer consideration, this leaves a massive gap in our reasoning, one that, despite their lack of knowledge on the subject, intellectual predators are willing to use as an avenue of approach. In this episode, we engage with an argument for why we should become dangerous, not just armed. It is in the act of becoming capable that we undergo an moral development into not only the how, but the why of violence, the capabilities and moral constraints of such.We look forward to the conversations that come from this episode. Enjoy. Support the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc
