Egg Yolk Omelettes, a Rack of Lamb & Special Salad Dressings

Free Time Tuesday - Em and her EP

Today Em sits down for chats with her friend and former anchor of her breakfast radio show Benjamin Wasley, he’s also the Executive Producer of this podcast. Em was worried she had nothing to talk about, but after a brief chat we worked out there’s heaps to reflect on from the last week. So we begin with Em’s trip to Sydney to meet with Spotify, record a podcast episode with financial guru and fully jacked human Mark Bouris, appear on Fran Kelly’s new ABC show ‘Frankly’. She also helped out at her parent’s open garden and attended an amazingly inclusive Melbourne Fashion Week event which culminated in her accidentally losing her skirt while doing fashion parades in an underground carpark with her daughter Chella, as you do. So there’s a heap to work through and a lot of giggles within, mostly from Ben, but we’re sure you’ll join in too. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

“You’re So Quirky” - In Conversation with Chloé Hayden

Chloé Hayden is an award winning motivational speaker, actor, performer, author, influencer, content creator and disability rights activist and advocate, she’s also one of the stars of the Netflix reboot of ‘Heartbreak High’ where she plays one of the world’s first autistic characters, Quinni. Em jumped on board ‘Heartbreak High’ the minute it dropped because the original series was totes one of her favourite things EVER. As she devoured every episode it was the character of Quinni and how the show truly embraced and explained her experience of being autistic, that really connected with Em. Chloé was diagnosed as autistic and ADHD at 13 and she joins Em to talk all of the things, from the writing and release of her new book ‘Different, Not Less’, to where she was when she found out she secured the groundbreaking role of Quinni. Chloé also offers some great advice for parents of teenagers with autism and ADHD, reveals how the character of Quinni has helped so many people, plus Em and Chloé find out how alike they actually are and why you should never call them ‘quirky’. It's a fabulous, fast and funny chat that we know you’re gonna love, so find your favourite chill space, press play and get listening. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Free Time Tuesday - In Conversation with Wil Anderson

It’s the friendship that comes together on each other's podcasts, Em’s done Wil’s podcast Wilosophy four times, now it’s time for Wil to do Emsolation, even if it’s just so the two of them can have some quality hang time. So together they’ll talk the news Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchin are divorcing, why Gigi Hadid might find Leonardo DiCaprio worth dating and even try and analyse why the creators of Chiko Rolls use hot ladies to sell their phallic looking mystery meat and cabbage tubes. They also talk about why Wil is so good at getting the thoughtful reveals from his guests on Wilosophy and why he won’t turn it into a TV series. There’s also a new book for Wil to reluctantly promote called ‘I Am NOT Fine, Thanks’ and a deep dive into how the continuing pandemic has changed and affected them both. It’s a wide ranging glorious bunch of banter that we know you’re really gonna love so plug in and get your listen on. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

It Looks Like a Swollen Turkey Foot

Twitter is on fire and we’re here to give you all the hot takes. We start with the news that Lena Dunham, the creator of ‘Girls’ and the upcomnig series ‘Catherine Called Birdy’, has been rejected by the gay community after she offered up her casket for a pride parade once she dies. Exactly, what the what was she actually thinking or hoping to achieve with a tweet like that? Then we wanna talk about how Billy Eichner, the creator of ‘Bros’ a new gay rom com, took to twitter to blame homophobia for his movie not performing very well on its opening weekend. Once we’ve worked through both of those social media bin fires we’ll reveal how Em’s encounter with an echidna ushered in a rather shocking stat and about a bajillion unsolicited echidna crotch shots, because of course it does, huh? Em has a lot to say and she’ll also gift us all the facts while also shoving some rather revealing pictures before a totally unaware Michael, her eldest daughter Chella arrives just in time to witness the pics too. Spoiler alert, her reaction may be where we got the title of this episode from. Finally Em and Michael have both seen the first few episodes of the new TV series remaking ‘Interview with the Vampire’ and Em can barely contain her excitement so get ready for much adoration and gushing. God They Love a Brothel

This time around we’re ignoring the episode title and diving straight into the ins and outs of what’s inside the entire ep, so put a pin in that and we’ll update you soon. So we begin with the news Rihanna is taking over from Taylor Swift and stepping up to do the half-time footy concert, aka the Superbowl in February next year. Em and Michael are excited but also perplexed considering her last album dropped in 2016. We also need to factor in Beyonce announcing a world tour, then there’s the news that Italy has a rather problematic woman about to become their Prime Minister, her name is Giorgia Meloni and she is an ultraconservative right wing fascist, so naturally Em and Michael have a lot of red flags to work through. After that we need to reflect the fact that Bill Shorten apparently said earlier this week that he’d seen Em’s speech at the National Press Club and described it as powerful and then talked about how he’s asked for more advice on including ADHD in the NDIS. To wrap up, Michael has finally started watching ‘House of the Dragon’, the prequel to ‘Game of Thrones’, and both Em and Michael have a bunch of concerns about all of the everything, from the lace front wig situation, everyone getting killed, the hectic violence and the drawbacks of watching the brothel scenes while your kids are in the room, which brings us to that episode title, told we’d get back there eventually. So grab your fave listening posy and get amongst it ASAP. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ted Lasso Punched Baby Yoda

Facts are facts and we’ve got the audio to prove it, plus Em has found even more reasons not to watch the TV series ‘Ted Lasso’, all the details are within this episode. We start by reflecting on Em’s dog Toby passing away last week and how it affected a speech she had to give on the Gold Coast. Then it’s onto the reboot of the 90’s TV series ‘Heartbreak High’, it’s now streaming on Netflix and it’s officially amazing. There’s also drama around the filming of Season 3 of ‘Ted Lasso’ that Em is mad keen to delve into, plus a truck full of special “neck” massagers and lube were spilled all over a freeway in America and they crossed to it live on the news in the US, so of course we need to play you that audio and talk about it. Finally Lady Gaga had to call it quits on a concert in Miami because of lightning strikes and took to social media to deliver a tear soaked apology which is truly peak level diva goodness and naturally we ATE. IT. UP. You’ll hear the entire thing and we’ll be talking through our favourite bits. You’ll even get a teensy tiny reflection of the funeral to end all funerals just so we can talk about Fergie, because of course we are. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
