Darlin’ it’s Better, Down Where it’s Wetter
We are getting wet in this episode, first up we need to celebrate White Gladis, the female Orca who’s made it her mission to attack and sink yachts and is now teaching other Orcas how to launch their own attacks, Good For Her! We follow that with Em and Michael’s full review on the live action version of ‘The Little Mermaid’, they’re throwing 10 out of 10’s at Halle Bailey’s entire performance, but they also have notes. Some of the new song inclusions left them shook, Triton was wearing a t-shirt instead of showing off his 6 pack and the greatest Ursula song ever has been edited! Thankfully Em and Michael decided to replace it with the full performance of the missing section in this podcast. Then we wanna talk about the finale of ‘Succession’, naturally if you haven’t watched it yet you’ll need to skip forward from 28.16 to 35.26 to avoid all the spoilers plus a shocking reveal about Shiv actress Sarah Snook DM-ing Em while she was watching it. Finally, Michael is about to jump on a plane and betray Em by attending Beyonce Live in London, so obviously we need to give him some more gentle ribbing about that before he bails. The Aftermath of the Bey-trayal
Yep we’re going there, to begin with we cover the fallout from last week’s Beyonce Betrayal. It’s been truly heckers, especially for one Michael Lucas who’s even received drive-by confrontations from Emsolators keen to address his shocking revelation. After that we wanna touch on one of the biggest stories of the week, the sad departure of Stan Grant from Q&A and the ABC. Then Em is super keen to update us all on her new favourite bingeable series about mermaids called ‘MerPeople’ and she reveals the show she thinks all teenage boys should be made to watch, plus Michael has a new Aussie series he’s keen to recommend. Then finally we play a quick game of ADHD Charades where Em describes movies, songs, and tv shows she can’t remember the actual names of for Michael to try and guess, it’s a thing Em does to Michael all the time and she’s keen to test out his skills in a game show setting, huzzah! The Beyonce Betrayal
The betrayals come thick and fast in this episode, in fact they bookend this chat and they both come from Michael, so prepare for much pearl clutching and dramatic inhales from Em. Our first betrayal involves Em’s personal mullet wearing musical hero and his brand new doco ‘John Farnham - Finding the Voice’. Michael may have seen it, with his mother, on Mother’s Day, so it's basically a gut punch right from the start for Em. Thankfully Michael gives us a full review and even offers up recommendations on how Em best approach seeing it for herself. That scandal absorbed we then need to talk Beyonce’s Renaissance World tour kicking off, Sweden not enjoying it enough and Michael gets put through a high pressure, on the spot, sing the chorus quiz of the tour setlist. Then Em and Michael play ‘Okay Stop’ whilst watching the new Architectural Digest YouTube tour of RuPaul’s LA Mansion. Finally, after a quick update on the TV shows and series they're both watching, Michael casually drops his second betrayal which is so shocking it rocks Em to her actual core. Will they ever be able to move beyond this shocking confession? Only time will tell, but also yeah sure, they probably have already right? Learn more about your ad choices. Semen Stencil
This week Em is shook because Michael is keen to talk about the Coronation of the King, Em has zero interest. Weirdly though (actually not really weird at all really) even though she didn’t actually watch it, she’s absorbed a shocking amount of assorted facts and highlights. Once we’ve worked through that Em is mad keen to drag a very reluctant Michael into the marvellous world of mushrooms. Em’s got all the facts, a new app to help her identify them and an unbridled passion to force Michael into gumboots for a frolic through a forest full of fungi in the very near future. We’ll follow that with the breaking news that Tom Cruise and Shakira are an item, which naturally inspired Em to pump out a bit of fanfiction 5 minutes before the episode record. Expect Michael in the role of Vin Diesel and Tom Cruise and Em as Shakira (is that a female Fernando Alonso I’m hearing?). Finally Michael has a new season of ‘5 Bedrooms’ to plug, plus there’s two other equally fab Aussie shows they’re both keen to recommend. So plug us in, press play and get a sample of the wall to wall dizzy freedom that’s bouncing around inside this episode. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

We Have News For You.
Obviously if you were at our family meeting last night you’ve already got the news we have for you. If you weren’t there then all will be revealed within this episode, first though we wanna touch on the shocking loss of Masterchef’s Jock Zonfrillo. Then Michael is obsessed with the fact that our Prime Minister went to a celebrity wedding that Em has zero interest in, so that won’t last long. We follow that up with the Instagram algorithm that’s sending Em blokes with massive wangs working out, she’s done research on why the discrete peen is in her feed, plus Em and Michael swap mobiles and share what their ‘for you’ sections reveal about them. After that Em gets Michael to flash up a selection of Met Gala looks for her to give her on the spot, uncensored thoughts on. There’s also some Fernando Alonso and Taylor Swift fan fiction for Em and Michael to bring to life and finally we have a huge announcement that’s v exciting and we’ve been dying to reveal, that moment has finally arrived. So basically this episode is pretty much chockers Barry Crockers, so allow it to tumble into your ears and enjoy it at your earliest convenience mmmkay. Learn more about your ad choices. She Pulled a Salt Shaker from Where?
The answer to that question is within this episode, but first there’s a kinda sorta answer to last week’s question for the cast of Glee, which we follow with a reminder of what Emsolators need to do if Em ever goes missing. Then it’s on to Em’s Saturday which included an early morning wake up, a hurried house clean, a 50th birthday lunch for her husband Scott and a midnight performance on stage with Reuben Kaye. We’re talking stand-ups, a full band, singing, burlesque, fire twirling, aerial circus acts, maximum naked wang including actual ones and Em’s inflatable version and finally an act that included a discretely hidden salt shaker. After that Michael drops a bombshell revealing he got teary watching a video of James Corden, it leaves Em understandably shook plus she then had to sit through the same video just to see how she’d react. We then reflect on the death of Barry Humphries, cover off a new TV show that Em’s just binge watched called ‘The Diplomat’ and offer up a mental side quest on the rumours Taylor Swift might be dating F1 champion Fernando Alonso (Michael has to do maximum googling for clarity and Em’s so inspired she’s off to work on some Tay Tay and Fernando fan fiction for next week). Finally Em teases a massive announcement that’s been giving her migraines and then returns to give us her take on the aforementioned James Corden video with surprising results. What’s Going On With Bluey.
The first 20 seconds of a new season of a universally loved kids TV series has triggered a lot of parents, but before we talk about any of that, we need to talk the hectic going ons at community pools. Inspired by Michael’s t-shirt, we go on a trip down memory lane to Em’s previous life as a teenage swim instructor, the whack things that happened in and around the pool and the shame of wearing clothing from the lost and found. Once we’ve navigated all of those memories, we need to discuss why the newest episode of ‘Bluey’ has divided the internet. We also check in on the diet culture norms of the 80’s parents who raised Em and Michael and the truly shocking experiences they had in their own childhoods. Then there’s the night Em and Michael partied with the cast of ‘Glee’ in Sydney to relive. Em remembers nothing, so Michael does all the heavy lifting recollecting everything that went down and it comes with a built in challenge for you too. Finally Em is untethered when it comes to TV show options and her list of must haves is extensive. Luckily Michael has the perfect list of choices, including one series his husband actually worked on. Weirdly, neither of them planned or set this up, but it might just be the most perfectly placed recommendation they’ve ever accidentally stumbled on. What are the chances?
